Stop making me feel old... My 5yo son also enjoys Minecraft... Although he almost flat out refuses to learn how to use twin sticks so he walks around backwards half the time 😅 Then makes mommy and daddy build nice things only to go around and try to blow them up 😂

With the villager curing change, raid farms are going to be much more effective. Also librarians and cartographers are getting changed. Librarians are getting changed with their trades offering the best books at the master level. The biome will determine this. It will make want to explore your world more. Cartographers are getting a new trade. They can sell maps to a village in a different biome. It will be useful for getting all types of god tier books.

It's good the best books are only offered at higher levels. It was stupid and repetitively boring that it was random: place lectern -> check villager -> no good -> remove lectern -> repeat, over and over again... just give me the mending already!

I really like the 'smithing template', adds another layer in the progression that isn't just "mine for this resource and there you have it" instead we have to find bastions. Very excited to reach that point in my world

Meh. Just another - dangerous - step to overcomplicating Smithing. It’s already difficult enough to find ancient debris. I’d rather just stick with diamond quality.

Love that he takes care of the pillager problem by burying a villager alive with nothing but a bed in his backyard.

If you combine the zombie discount and the hero of the village 3 effect you can bring those that are more 21 emeralds down to 1 :) I have a raid farm set up in my world so I always do that before trading

I started playing MC in 2008, And every few years I pick it back up. Been waiting since Caves and Cliffs was first announced to start a new world, Needless to say I am shocked at the changes made in a few years let alone in almost fifteen. Thank you for keeping everyone up to date.

@SlabbyMess I played minecraft when it was indev in 2009. I could easily mistake it for 2008, but I just looked up what year It was released, so I know it wasn't in 2008. Idk why you think he's flat out lying as opposed to just having a mistake in memory.

Thanks for this. It's been about 2ish years since I played minecraft, and about a year since I watched any minecraft videos. It's nice to get caught up to speed, especially since I use to know most of the ins and outs of minecraft (basically from 1.12 and before)

+1 for the Swift Sneak and allay recommendations. Allays are also great for cleaning up loose scaffolding after doing a large building project.

I would just like to thank you very much because your guides have helped me so much in my Minecraft world. I was also wondering if you could make a raid farm tutorial because I have tried 3 different farm designs and they have all failed however, I am sure that if you made one it would work wonderfully, merry Christmas and a happy new year.

one thing to note, the villager discount rebalance is still an expiremental feature, and I hope it stays that way. for now, zombify to your heart's content

@@BlphBain no, actually, elaborate. one emerald for everything can be unbalanced, but locking all the enchantments to certain types of villagers only serves to make it more tedious, not to mention the inferior levels, and that it doesn't encourage exploration villagers should be able to learn books you yourself find out in the world.

I lost all motivation when my 3 year survival world got corrupted. I made almost everything automated, massive pixel arts, and I made bases out of every naturally generated structure. So maybe you can make a video or something about finding motivation again? Anyway great vid!

9:46 that's true. The Stony peaks biome has a lot of iron. It is near my house so I always go there and bring 3-4 stacks of iron with fortune pickaxe but my friends waste all the iron by building unnecessary items 😢

The pillager spawning thing is a bit dangerous, because if you have the bad omen effect, after coming back from exploring for example, you can accidentally trigger a raid in your own house.

This was what I immediately thought of when he said that. It can be convenient to have a useful trader in your base, but having your base count as a “village” is a bit of a nuisance.

Thank you for the video! I haven't played for about 2 years. Sniffers and Allays were not in the game, also I don't think Cherry Trees were either.

Another thing that is currently in the experiment stage that will be added fully later is rebalanced trading. It makes it to where the wandering traders can now buy certain items, which gives you the ability to get emeralds even if you're not near a village or stony biome. It also makes librarians biome specific to sell certain books, it's no longer luck based, for instance mending can only be purchased from a swamp librarian.

Started playing again after 2 years, good to be back

5:29 Dude, I can't even walk around with an Allay without it wandering off and me losing it forever. Let alone actually try to use them for anything. In my current world, I freed 4, and only 1 made it back to my base. I went back in SPECTATOR cheaty mode just to see if I could find the 3 I lost, and was able to rescue 2 of them. Maybe they're more reliable on java.

3:10 Dark - Oak - Sapling!! Never drop enough to replace the initial tree. At least not for me. (Each tree takes 4 - no exception; about half those chopped give me 3 max)

OMG Just heard your voice after like two months....my ears feel so good now.

@eyecraftmc (or anyone that knows): I've been having to deal with pillagers for a while in a server with my friends. We set up shop permanently in the area close to where the outpost was. It's in a river valley and the pillager outpost is on top of the cliffside/mountain above my house. They keep dropping into our village, mostly behind my house since I'm the closest to it. We destroyed the outpost thinking that would stop them from spawning but soon found out that wasn't the case. Luckily your vid came out and I tried out the villager technique, gave him in a bed in the cliffside out back of my place. Unfortunately, they're still spawning close to where the villager is on the cliffside. Does elevation play a role? I'll take any suggestions on getting rid of these pillagers because they're a pretty big pain and I get the brunt of it due to my base's location. Thanks for the help

For an outpost, you need to spawn-proof the area around the (now destroyed) tower. Leaves or slabs across the entire area will take care of your problem

Outpost is a forced spawn, not like what he said in the video. You need to find that pillager outpost and block it off or make it into a farm. Also don’t build base near outpost, it’s just annoyance waiting to happen

I know most new things are optional and you can still beat the Ender Dragon like normal, but what’s the point of playing if you aren’t utilizing everything the game has to offer. I’m like that too I can get netherite and Elytra not hard, but with the new updates I haven’t got netherite yet and even been to deep dark.

As someone who hasn't played since Java 1.5.0. Do you have any video recommendations for me? Even some of this stuff sounds like it's building off systems that didn't exist when I played.

2:03 He doesn’t mention that mobs CAN still follow you down underground - even into the Deep Dark. So if you incorporate water slides or any other simple methods to enter/exit the area, don’t be surprised if something(or many somethings) still manage to lurk around.
