Its definitely getting better. I think the success of the womens team was the catalyst. Obviously 2018 was a bump in the road. But soccer is now more popular than hockey and will overtake baseball when we host in 2026.

It's not a mentality, it's lack of talent and having no decent consistent forwards. You might think but "we do have talent up forward", well, if they aren't scoring they're no use. Look at Spain and Germany and many other countries, they want to replace Morata and Werner who would easily start on this US team but they want to replace them because they are close to consistent and don't score enough. Those are the higher standards you need to have to be useful in a World Cup.

I will just give the team the benefit and say they're trying not too hard to over groom their players, wish you good luck USA as a recently naturalized citizen

I think the US needs to organize more games with the big boys of South America. Mexico and the United States both suffer in large international tournaments because their regular opponents are small fries. So many of these goals looked nice, but they were accompanied by clear defensive errors. Football is still emerging in America. Let's not get too hyped and make sure we keep the international team on its toes.

We should return to the Copa America format in which the entire continent of the Americas participates, so that the USA and Mexico have experience of playing against the three powers of the South Atlantic (Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay), and not forgetting the other South American teams that they are also competitive.

we need more european friendlies. Our teams in 2010 and 2014 played a ton and had insane chemistry with okay talent. Now we have the opposite. Great young talent with no experience playing together
