Fun fact, if you can't sleep, even just closing your eyes and resting provides the same but just lower levels of the benefits of sleeping. Knowing this has made a huge impact on my sleep because I'm less stressed about not being able to fall asleep since I'm benefiting from the rest (which then helps me fall asleep)

So while I sleep way late due to issues with time. I randomly get tired, and so I can stay up for hours, and then even after normal sleep, I get tired at the worst times. And that's why I hate driving long hours for trips. So I have issues sleeping sometimes, or in this case I sleep but I wake up feeling like something has been running in my brain. So at this point I'm forced to act rested. Thankfully God blocks out whatever is messing with my mind, because demons are real and ever since I cracked open the Bible again, my mind is a playground. I am absolutely every phase of the insomniac, which in turn morphed into the druggie because not sleeping was driving me insane. But also add perfectionism because during the insomniac-druggie transition, the sleep specialist doctor will not give you *any* meds UNTIL you try alternative methods 🤷🏾‍♀️.

This video is gold! I relate to sooo many of these haha. I'm the Insomniac a lot of the time which sometimes leads me to becoming the unintentional 4 hour napper. As an insomniac, I have the type where I can't fall asleep. But once I do manage to fall asleep I am dead to the world and can't wake up and have to have like eight alarms lol. I have gone sleep walking a couple of times that I know of. My husband sometimes snores and I have to kick him to get him to roll over lol. And generally neither of us like to cuddle while we sleep, so we keep a good three feet between us at night lol. He is a total sleep perfectionist! Weighted blanket, weighted eye mask, white noise, cold room, total blackout curtains, in bed at precisely 11:00 or earlier. 30 minutes to wind down before sleep lol. Soooo funny!

There’s also the differences in sleep patterns for insomniacs too. Some people will fall asleep but keep waking back up over and over again. And then there’s those who can’t fall asleep at first, but then once they’re asleep they’re out for the night. I’ve been both at different points in my life, and they both suck

I’m a mix of the perfectionist and the insomniac. I close my closet doors, turn on my fan, put the bed heater on the second setting, turn off the overhead light and turn on the bedside lamp, straighten out my covers… and then spend the next two hours trying to fall asleep.

Maybe it was the farmers who are to blame. The world used to have a lot more of them. Or maybe it's partly because people who own big businesses are usually intense Type A personalities who want to be doing things all the time, combined with all the parents because most kids naturally wake up with the sun or even EARLIER. Kids are the true psychos. Most are so excited they cannot wait to start the day. I'm lucky because my kids like to sleep in, but when they're baby-toddler age "sleeping in" is still at barely past dawn. Sleeping till 8 or 9 starts older. So I understand the pain of people whose kids are waking up early their entire childhood. I get why they want to get their kids out to childcare at 8 and get the day started so they can be done a few hours before dark. Imagine waking up at 5 every day with your kid, or 4:30 so you can have some time alone, and then being at work from 11am-7pm? Heck no. I wonder though, if it would work to have businesses open longer and have the 1st shift and the 2nd shift. I mean they already do that in retail. Hmmmm....
