The way he sees it, it's not Hamon that kicked his ass, it's Jonathan fucking Joestar. And in a way he's right. Jonathan has been repeatedly kicking his ass BEFORE Hamon, and he kicked Dio's ass in the mansion WITHOUT Hamon, while Dio was in VAMPIRE FORM. Jonathan got Hamon and then nearly destroyed him again, but Dio defeated other Hamon users before him. Dio doesn't respect Hamon, he respects Jonathan.

Jonathan doesn't need a stand. The world and Star Platinum are the same type of stand as both carry a part of Jonathan. Also they could stop time because JONATHAN'S BODY was divided into two and his soul couldn't pass away to the other side while these things were happening with his body. So he was in a CAGE OF TIME where all he could do was watch.

What makes me love Jonathan and Phantom Blood so much compared to the other JoJo's and Parts is that with Jonathan and Part 1 there's no padding,no filler,no bullshit,everything is cut and dry,straight to the point. It's just a simple story about a buff British Gentleman going on a quest to kill his adoptive vampire brother. It didn't need really need anything else because it was already perfect how it was,and while I would've loved to see Jonathan survive and aid Joseph in Part 2 (Jonathan vs Wamuu could've been legendary) I understand that Jonathan's sacrifice was essential to the rest of the series,so for that I always pour one out for the Chad Gentleman,the *real* JoJo
