yea FF7R should honestly have been excluded from this as he never uses supernova in that, thats obviously meteor during the cutscene and in the fight he dont even use meteor per se he uses divine proclamation

An illusion is not quite accurate. It's more like Sephiroth can create his own version of the universe where he can drag his opponent in, and detonates 'his' sun using the meteor that he summons. So yeah, Sephiroth is quite insane...

@@theighthsage The lengthened animation was added to the international version to fill up the 3rd disc. The 3rd disc only really has the final battle iirc. The difference itself is because its the director's cut of the game that added content and they thought it would be cool.

Super Nova cant kill, but inflicts confusion.... I got it! He's not trying to kill them, only to teach them the physics related to celestial objects. The damage is just those kids' brains going into overdrive trying to compute what Sephiroth is teaching them! It makes sense now!

OG Supernova has probably the coolest animation for an attack in a RPG game I've ever seen. Special mention to the figure at the start sending strong vibes of the Kabbala (you know, the weird ass tree-like figure in the Evangelion opening). Also, if I'm not mistaking, in the same Kabbala, "Sephiroth" is the name given to the manifestation of God's powers.

Other main difference is damage type. Int'l version does fraction damage, and therefore cannot actually kill you by itself. Japanese one, although weaker, does "regular" damage, and can kill you.

Actually only FVII R was Meteor in those clips. Kingdom Hearts, Brave Exvius, and World of Final Fantasy, although named Supernova, may as well been Meteor.

Technically, Remake's "version" is Sephiroth 'consuming" Meteor from the future, effectively deleting how the original game ends.

Galaxian’s ultimate attack is an attack that’s comparable to Supernova. Planet Buster, an burst of energy powerful enough to destroy a planet. As for the fighting game adaptation I hope to make, it’s the main special that takes the longest to charge, and is an unavoidable instant-kill attack.
