It’s so important to have these Old Testament connections, it gets us closer to the mindset of Jesus and His disciples. Their worldview is built on that foundation, they would have been seeing these connections while walking with Jesus just as we do who know the old testament. I always get chocked up and excited seeing these scenes. Adds a whole new level of depth and I’m sure, adds curiosity to those who are just learning.

That is why I've been so interested in Second Temple Judaism, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the entire period surrounding Jesus' ministry. Have studied it for nearly 20 years now. It's fascinating. I would suggest everyone study the years between 500BC up until Jesus and shortly after. Will change your perspective on a lot of things.
I love all these flashbacks that we get from the Old Testament! Must be continued!

Reading the Old Testament then seeing it played out on the screen is amazing. I go back to the Old Testament every time a scripture scene is shown and I get so excited to reread it. I love The Chosen for so many things but keeping me reading God’s word is just a blessing. Thank you for what you do and for bringing millions to Our Lord. With much love ❤️

The way the Chosen was scripted is out of this world, the fusion of the old testament and the new testament was just phenomenal. "We didn't choose him, He chose us" He is El-Shadaai.

The David portrayal was weak. Didn’t convincingly reflect a multifaceted warrior and leader who was denied the desire to build the temple because of his bloodshed at his hands, directly and indirectly. Seemed more like a scribe.
I love this flashback scenes as well, it makes you understand that the Old Testament prepares the fulfillment of the prophecies on the New Testament. Keep doing more of these scenes. Good job 👍🏼
I love seeing this Old Testament story through your lense, the story, pictures and scenes are so soothing and calming. Thank you so much, the chosen cast and crew 🙏♥️☺️
I love these scenes so much! They are some of my favourites !!!!!! Love the chosen and hope that there are more Old Testament scenes in season 4 😊 ❤️
The old and new covenants are inextricably linked. Like my pastor says - "The O.T. is Christ concealed, the N.T. is Christ revealed." Both are well used in The Chosen.😇💥✝️📖

I loved the last scene. It felt like the worlds first hymn to our lord.
I grew up in the Moravian Church I attended church regularly until I was 13 and I drifted away from God for a long-time committed sin in HS and in college and at one point I was so miserable and sad inside that I lost my devoted faith for some time I wasn't living a life God wanted me to live I started questioning my faith with Christ because I had no accountability over my own life. But now I'm 24 and I've decided to attend church regularly again, read the Bible for the First time and watch shows like the Chosen other Christian documentaries on the Old/New Testament and I'm learning so much more about Christ! Everything makes so much more sense to me now compared to when I was younger and didn't understand the Bible as well. I truly believe I'm growing closer with him every day I never want to Stray away from God's love again. God Bless you all!

The flashbacks to the OT are some of my favorite scenes. I hope they continue.
This is the best Show on the planet . Thankyou every Brother and sister Involved in making This happen . GOD Is amazing !!! ❤
I really appreciate the interpretations, the way the scenes bring an added value of humanity and 'time-boundness' to the OT passages. (Moses, Joshua, and the bronze snake was wonderful, and oh, the Well of Jacob and 'He chose us' sent shivers down my spine - as doubtless it was meant to.) And I'm tickled that I watch the various OT scenes and can guess which gospel passage is being referenced even without having seen the series. Even from watching the various clips and commentaries, I'm abjectly enjoying the way The Chosen takes the gospel accounts and forms them into a narrative which is both biblically and contextually enlightening, as well as enjoyable and entertaining. Well done! 🥰
The thought that God chose us is mind-blowing for me. To remember once more how He reached us when we were at the rock bottom and pulled us out of that dark ravine. He reached us with His loving hands, and all we need to do is receive it. This thought always keep me strong in my life.
I hope this trend continues on to Season 4 and beyond!
Absolutely love all of these. Totally up for more in the seasons to come. One more beautiful than the next! You outdid yourself with David and Psalm 77.

HE chose us! thanks for the remembrance of our awesome GOD'S love for us... 🕊
Faith is not void of reason! Faith in God is the most reasonable act of worship we owe God. It is evidence of what is unseen (God) by the things we do see (His creation, the work of His hands, the things He has done.) it is what we hope for (faith fulfilled) Hebrews 11. Because we have seen such amazing evidence in our own lives, in the lives of others, through answered prayer and in His mighty works we know our hope is not in vain.
I love the Jacob scene - when you stack up who our God is, it doesnt make sense why someone would "create" or believe in Him, but He has revealed himself as different from all of the worlds idols and shown himself to be the one true God. He's not a god that could be made up, because he is a God that we could not fathom without Him revealing Himself!
I love the OT scenes - it shows how the New Testament is hidden in the Old.
This is so true how Our God takes care of Us!! If we walk in Obedient and listen the Spirit, this Will Always Be Truth to The Believers!!!
Thank you for this edit! These portions have added quite a lot to the series.
So thankful for the Old Testament tie-ins.
Chosen has helped me to come closer to jesus.... I love the scene of John collaboration with Jesus reading scripture...."in the beginning was the WORD , and the WORD was with GOD and the WORD was GOD.......

It'll be intersting to see how you connect the Last Supper with the Passover in the OT.
Something noteworthy in the second scene is how Moses looks so different than how he's traditionally portrayed, like in 'The Ten Commandments' film with Charlton Heston, where with the long beard, stylised robes & thunder behind him, he looks cool but dare I say, a bit too cinematic to be believable. In this scene however, he looks very normal & totally believable as someone who could've existed in real life, three thousand years ago. Personally, I like this: It reminds us that God chooses ordinary people like you & me to carry out His plan & they are capable of doing unbelievable good, as Moses did. We might have an image in our heads as to what heroes look like, but it matters not to the Lord your appearance, as *"the Lord looks on the heart."* - 1 Samuel 16:7. ✝

I like the Chosen, to me it's very refreshing to watch the show Is it perfect? No but pretty good, but better than any other Christian show I have ever seen. And I thank God for it.
Beautiful! Thank you
To really know what the New Testament is about, you have to know the old. You can see christ foretold than comes
I warned Dallas about 9 months ago that a personal friend of mine, writer/director, who decided to go down a different path mid-point through his success ended up costing him everything. This ladies and gentlemen, what is transpiring with The Chosen is a perfect example.
I just realized what psalm 77 was written about, I think! Perhaps this psalm was intended for David after the birth of his and Bathsheba's stillborn baby as he was repenting and mourning that child. It was a prophecy of David's misdeeds and his soon to come mourning and agony crying out to God. What do you think?

Psalm 77 is needed when we are in utter distress.
The actress that played King David's wife (Sheba, I believe) is the same actress that played Mother Mary in the LUMO gospel productions.

7:13 This kid should have been given a brutally honest medal irl
Sorry but I lost it at the Moses scene. Both of them look too young to be their characters at this time (the fiery serpents happened towards the end of the wilderness wandering, so Moses and Joshua should be close to 120 and 80), Moses looks like some blue collar car mechanic (not a hint of the Levitical colors anywhere on him), and there’s no way that Joshua should be doubting Moses at this stage of his life. Just as an additional note, not only is the date wrong (Exodus happened earlier than the 13th century BC) but the location is wrong also. Mafqat was not known as “the Sinai Peninsula” until Constantine’s mother misidentified the location as such (for the real mountain, see Jebel al-Lawz in Saudi Arabia); but even that aside, the fiery serpents did not happen to them when they were in the Mafqat or the real Sinai: they were going northeast, out of the land of Edom, to enter the promised land from the east when it happened. PS - “Levitical colors” refer to the red, white, and black stripes that were the colors of the tribe of Levi (deMille’s wardrobe department accidentally’d into historical accuracy). Which makes me wonder why Thomas is wearing Levite colors in The Chosen when Matthew is the one who’s surnamed “Levi” in the gospels.

The 2 scenes with David, they both look similar. David & Joseph both had turbulent youths & after decades, finish at the top & powerful positions. This is really cool what was done here.

This part shows how Shabbat has been celebrated over the centuries, still is. No specific verse, but mentioned in the Law of Moses.
