He forgot to mention Edward Jenner did the EXACT same thing and that was 20 times more important because Edward Jenner CREATED vaccines as a whole so he very well could’ve patented vaccines as a whole but he didn’t

As an x-ray tech, this is the BEST explanation of how x-rays came about, most credit work to Edison but Roentgen was first to discover the phenomenon. Fun fact: the glowing material he saw was barium platinocyanide :)
@moistschmeckles400

in german, x-rays are literally called "Röntgenstrahlen" (Röntgen-Rays) so there is hardly any confusion, but why would one attribute the discovery of xrays to thomas edison? th did he have to do with that

I may be a bit of a nerd but… if the colors in the dna example represent the letters at 8:01 . For example blue = a (adenine) yellow = t (thymine) green = c (cytosine) and red = g (guanine), then I think this person has a mutation. Blue is matched to yellow three times, suggesting that it’s planned, but then yellow is matched up to green, causing thymine to be matched to quanine, which would cause a mutation. But, it may not be that serious 🤷♀️

as if that were the only problem with the model. there are also not 10bp per winding of the double helix, no major and minor groove, the DNA is neither left nor right handed, the bases are covalently bonded with each other instead of hydrogen bonded... this is a sketch, it does not need to be scientifically accurate. but like omg yes, you're such a nerd.

A part of the rays are absorbed, another part is “reflected” (kinda gets shot in a different angle) by the body’s cells, the reason you see anything is because less radiation falls on the detection plate behind the patient
@caulse4844
Ай бұрын
@@koosvriendloos5931but isnt the reason we can see bones in the first place is that they're too dense to absorb the ray's and reflect them?
@koosvriendloos5931
Ай бұрын
@@caulse4844 they absorb them too! :) i wouldnt call it reflect but more deflect, its hard explaining lol but they dont come straight back if u get what i mean? Just sway slightly to the right or left and the filter in the detector filters out the stray x-rays so they dont appear on the image. the absorbation and deflection also happens in other parts of the body but at a lesser rate

ACTUALLY Morton stole the idea of the laughing gas as an anesthetic from a collegue of his, Wells. Wells had organized a demonstration of his discovery with Morton, but the latter made so rhat instead of a very thin woman the operation (the extraction of a tooth) would be performed on a very tall and fat man, while using the same dose of gas. Of course, it was not enough and he shouted from pain for the whole time. Wells was shunned by the medical community. After a while, Morton came up with his own anesthetic, very similar to Wells' (but more toxic). Still he is now considered the father of anesthesia, but this HAS to change

Kinda funny how the drawing for anaesthesia is shown getting a brain surgery Since most brain surgeries arent done with anaesthesia because the doctors want you somewhat conscious so you can respond to things in order to make sure they didnt fuck up your brain on accident

Possibly groundbreaking, if it wouldn't... you know, fuck your brain. Lobotomy is more a Jurassic world situation, where they asked if they could instead of thinking about if they should. If they could find a way to lobotomize someone without the massive impact on the psychological aspect of the patient it truly would be groundbreaking
turn to Jesus Christ he loves all of us more than anything and he literally died for us. He took in the punishment for our sins thru on the cross. It wasn’t cuz we deserved it, but cuz he loved us. 1 John 4:10 “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” it was thru his love that he died for us and we can be forgiven
