My dad died of asthma last year. On its own, it can be easily kept at bay, but he only had one functioning lung, and he had severe allergies. It was a miracle that he survived as long as he did. At least he doesn't have to pay for his breathing subscription anymore.

I had asthma almost my entire childhood. When i started smoking weed around the age of 16, my asthma was magically gone, it was a miracle. I am not saying weed cured it or anything, but it can also be a crazy coincidence. So i've stopped smoking weed around the age of 20, and after that point my asthma was long gone.. so now i am at the age of 27, and unbelieveably, my asthma has returned last week, same as it was in the childhood. I can tell for sure that the spring bringing a lot of allergies to the table is guilty for the asthma return. It is very weird that there was like an 11 year old gap of my asthma magically retreating. I am very sad now because i will probably have to live the rest of my life with it.

When I was a baby, I almost died from a UTI. I was a few months, maybe a year old, and it was just a normal day. Our family went to the pumpkin patch and I began to feel a little tired or under the weather but we just assumed it was a common cold or I was just tired, so my mom layed me down for a nap. That’s when she saw that I was gray in the face and deathly ill. She immediately took me to the ER and I was immediately put on antibiotics but the doctor said that if we had waited even until the next morning to get me treated, I could’ve gone sceptic and probably died. If my mom hadn’t noticed, I wouldn’t be here today. UTIs can be serious. 15 years later, I’m still here and lucky to be alive.

I used to get migraines with aura every few months. What really helped me was taking magnesium and a multivitamin with vitamin b-2 (riboflavin) in it. Now I get them once a year and when I actually get them it lasts only an hour and a half and then it’s completely gone. In some cases, it is. But I'm not sure how commonly people have died from it. Deaths were probably far more common back in the 1800s or something due to the lack of appropriate medical attention then, and people end up dying because their airways shut entirely, leading to suffocation.

Yes, absolutely can be. I have asthma and had more than once had attacks so severe that I turned all blue as a toddler (at least thet's the stories I've been told). It's under control now. I was in specialised hospital 3 times leading to 16 weeks overall as a kid where we were taught how to manage the illness. So I'm usually good, but you never know when it may jump back in and give you an attack out of the blue. Because sometimes there are triggesr you don't even know about and can't avoid. Like a "bad" perfume on the person entering the bus.... We can be lucky that medecine has evolved and there are good treatments to have it managed. Before this and even today in regions with poor healthcare availability, people (mostly children) are dying from it.

Ty for telling me what sickle cell was because I lost someone to it and I never understood what it was no matter how much I researched it
When I was a baby, I almost died from a UTI.
My teacher had a jar filled with various sugars and candy that she kept for decoration purposes. Once a dude saw the jar, he immediately announced to the entire class that this was “the stomach contents of a diabetic”. He doesn’t know that diabetics cant consume sugery items.

Having one copy of the gene for sickle cell anemia is called "the sickle cell trait." I have it and it's kind of cool to have a resistance to malaria. Can still donate blood, too!

I have the opposite of hypertension! Hypotension. Specifically, Orthostatic Hypotension. The thing we both have in common is that our hearts both have to work harder to pump blood! I have to take medication that increases my blood pressure. I’d love to see a video about chronic illnesses like POTS, CFS/ME, fibromyalgia, EDS, things like that.

I used to get migraines with aura every few months. What really helped me was taking magnesium and a multivitamin with vitamin b-2 (riboflavin) in it. Now I get them once a year and when I actually get them it lasts only an hour and a half and then it’s completely gone. I’m not a doctor or anything but this is what worked for me, although everyone’s different and it might not work as well for others

I suffer from migraines where i see the aura, i get a headache, then about 10 mins later i vomit. I have a routine where i wait to get sick, then take a soluble panadol and go to bed. When i wake up, there's a mild headache but the worst part of it was slept off

I agree with you on what you said about Arthritis. I've had since I was about 14. It sucks having it. But yeah I push through the pain as well as I can. I'm currently almost 30 and have Multiple Disabilities. Also yeah I can say UTIs and Migraine suck. Which I know a bit stuff that helps those things. But I'm not a Doctor.
BRO STOP WITH THE TRUE INTENSITY OF THESE DISEASES, NOW I'M GONNA DIE
I’ve had UTIs back to back as a young child to the point of incontinence for an extended period of time. Weirdly enough they weren’t chronic and I haven’t had one for years now as an adult.
0:00 I have this. One time at school had to do a pacer test at PE and my sisters class was there. So I ran while holding her hand. By the end of the pacer test I was on my knees gasping for air. So my sister took me to the nurses office and yea
Urethra is my new fav word ty
I think I had multiple migraines then. Some of them were mild, the rest excruciating. Man the body always finds ways to hurt
As someone who’s been in the hospital twice for pneumonia, this was a very accurate representation.
I'm envious of those individuals without plaguing migraines.

As someone whom also has migraines I must say when it’s says that the pain happens on one side or the other that’s inaccurate at least for me and more specifically there is more then one type of migraine such as visual migraines that effect your vision as someone who has visual migraines and the migraine headaches I’ve had pixelated vision since birth if something is not right in front of my face it looks pixelated and it doesn’t last for hours or days it’s a constant thing I have to deal with I don’t mean to criticize anyone I just want to inform people that there are more than one type of migraine attacks visual migraine attacks/migraines make your vision go so blurry that you can not read your math homework (the questions not the title) even if it’s in front of your face

I have a small story, last year on March 20th I found out my best friend from 3rd grade had passed. I tried to figure out what had killed him, and then I remembered what the email and said. The email said 'medical emergency'. I pieced the puzzle together, and remembered her had asthma. It was still very heartbreaking for me, but at least I think I know how he passed. So yes, asthma can kill someone.

About 1/2 of my family tree on my father’s side died early from diabetes, some back before insulin was easy to come by, and some afterward because they didn’t want to control it. I always watch what I eat now.

I have seronegative Spondyloarthropathy (for now). Which is a type of an inflammatory arthritis (autoimmune disease). But mine, mostly, affects my si joints and hip joints. My rheumatologist thinks it'll turn into ankylosing spondylitis eventually, aka bamboo spine. Its funny tho, i have some symptoms of ra (like small joint arthritis), but because im seronegative and it started with my hips joints being effectly first, he doesn't want to diagnose me with it. I had asthma since I was a kid. One day being a big girl in college I was to broke to afford my asthma medicine and an inhaler. I went 2 days without medicine and had a severe asthma attack right before class and I drove myself to the doctor. I had tears filling my eyes trying not to panic and breathe the best I could. I have a looooong history of UTIs and they are nasty. I had 8 of them alone last year, 4 of which put me in hospital because I can't take a bunch of antibiotics or they don't work. One other potential problem with UTIs is the potential for sepsis. I had to stay overnight in hospital due to a sepsis scare from a UTI. Not fun at all.
UTIs are hell lol. the last one i had i was writhing in pain
I had helicobacter pylory. Zero symptoms, discovered it while searching something else. Was horrified. Took the meds. It was literally 15 pills a day for 15 days, I felt like my grandpa with my pill box for each day lol 😂. And the anabiotics were enormous and tasted disgusting 😅. Afterwards I had to do a test where I had to swallow an entire glass of citric acid. Mind you I hate lemons and it's like hardcore acidic lemon juice 😂. But I healed and survived👍
