Bengali is the 2nd most spoken language in india . Not only in west bengal , but its the official language of tripura and Assam's barak valley too . Apart from it lakhs of Bengali speakers are found in jharkhand, odissa , andaman etc . And if you add the number of Bangladeshis then total bengali speaking population is more than 400 million making it the 3rd largest ethenic group in the world after chinese and Arabic

Whatever language you speak, wether Nepali, tamil, odia, bhojpuri, etc. be proud of it and also respect other languages , no matter how old or new they are, because none of them are "my language" and" your language ", they are OUR languages and it's every Indian's responsibility to respect and protect them ( especially endangered dialects of hindi belt and northeast) instead of fighting over whose is 'superior'. Love from a Marathi speaker.

They are ashamed of it☹️☹️☹️ but the truth is these regional languages are culturally so rich each one has its own set of writers poets etc. for example i belong to braj region but i feel very bad that braj bhasha is only limited to my grand parents only! But now, i have promised myself that i will learn braj bhasha and feel proud of my native language, once lord krishna spoke this language why should we be ashamed of it!

@@shreyashreya4709 I totally agree with you sister! And its so nice to know that you've decided to learn & speak Braj. It used to be main language of literature before Khadi Boli & Hindustani acquired literary status! Plz make sure that Braj transmits to next generation. I'm also learning & trying to speak my own native dialect. I'm even documenting those words that I find as being specific to that speech. I would suggest you that you may document Braj words, sentences, traditional stories, various terms & names for different things, local poems etc. You can simply write them down in a note in your phone whenever you hear them, this way you will have a ready source of reference. You can even publish & share it on your name, so that others can learn Braj as well. It will be a service to our culture & our beloved Lord Krishna if we could safeguard His very own dialect. Small corrections please: (1) Andhra Pradesh is shown as a state but Telangana is included inside it. Telangana is now a separate state and you have to demarcate it and show it as a separate state now. (2) India has 23 official languages (Not 22). Yes English is the 23rd official language and is used across India in official documents and all Rail station, bus station, airport, seaport names and markings , on name boards of Govt offices and several institutions also (apart from the Regional language of that state and Hindi, English is also used). (3) Oriya language is now renamed as 'Odia' (4) Manipuri language is now renamed as 'Meitei'.

Hence Telugu is also called "Italian of the East". Italian and Telugu both when spoken ooze nectar and sound very sweet.

Kannada script is the Queen of all scripts in the World. Also probably Kannada script is the only script wherein one can write any foreign language almost accurately !!!

  • @Vajrasattvam

Uh... no. Kannada is called the queen of all languages, but the script can't represent even common sounds in english. Coffee becomes kaaphi and bank is written as byaank.Latin, Devanagari and Urdu scripts are probably the most suitable as they have been adapted for writing foreign and tribal languages .

@@studyhard-tl4bx ridiculous indeed !!! The Devanagari script is similar to the Sanskrit script. Kannada script has no connection with the Sanskrit script.

Please remember that if a language has a different script, that doesn't make it a different language... In the same way, if two different languages have the same script, that doesn't mean that they're the same language or even related languages.....
