They also lost to ULM, in Saban's first year. I know people like to think Bama is just this machine that has always been pumping. No, only since Saban has been there. Before him, they were IRRELEVANT for almost 20 years. When he leaves, they will return to "meh". Everything is a big cycle. Having one team dominate, in any sport, is not healthy for that sport. That team's fans love it sure, the rest of us...are just tired of hearing about them. Fuck Alabama, and that stupid elephant.

UCF was actually in the American (formerly the big east) in 2013. Which was still an automatic BCS conference at that time.

Pro Sports Central the American still had an automatic berth to a bcs bowl in 2013. They were a technical successor to the big East and held onto it until the bcs ended. Thus ucf was able to get a bcs bowl while having a loss.

Yet then being in this game was completely fraudulent, as per the BCS bowl rules TCU should have played Cincinnati and Florida should have played Boise State. Yet it’s very widely believed that because of Utah raping Alabama in the Sugar Bowl in 2008, NOBODY wanted to play the MWC champion, and Boise State has a incredibly high reputation of beating Power 5 teams from 2004-2009. So they made them play together.

Ironically one could almost argue that this bowl game was the real national championship, Because: 1. It featured two undefeated teams 2. It was the only bowl game to feature two teams with Top 10 offenses and Top 10 defenses. 3. If Clemson had won the ACC championship game (they lost by 3), it would be the only bowl game featuring two teams that had beaten a Power 5 conference champion in the regular season

I still cant believe Boise State is not a Power 5 school. It's kind of ridiculous. I'm a die hard Utah Utes fan and I still admit Boise deserved the Pac-12 invite just as much, if not more than Utah did. Yes, my Utes had two perfect undefeated seasons where they blew out both BCS Bowl Games in '04 and '08, including one of them against Saban's Bama, but I still think Boise State deserves to be a Power 5 School. They are all throughout the video, that's kind of saying something.

Honestly it really is stupid, I'm a Nevada Wolf Pack fan so we play them every year and they're consistently a conference championship contender EASILY. Every. Single. Year. Without fail for something like 15 years straight now. Boise is really too good for the Mountain West anymore, the Pac-12 needs to bring them up so they can get more talent in the mix. I mean this season, they had USC and Washington play a good season, but everybody else was kinda "meh". Boise would change that.

Thing to remember is that these games mattered to the group of 5 teams because they were the biggest games they ever played but they didn't matter to the Power 5 teams because they were disappointed to be there.

People always said that, but every year we beat the other conference's ass in the BCS bid game. So, no. Even if you want to say SEC, Big 10, PAC was better (obviously true), you can't seriously say the ACC was better. WVU was far better than any ACC or SEC team from 2005-2007, and the Big East was def better than the ACC top to bottom until realignment.

2014 onward is not BCS era games

Not really. The argument was started several years prior. The following teams made the argument for why Group 5 teams should be in the BCS: 1997 Tulane 1998 Marshall 2002 Boise State 2003 Miami Ohio 2003 Boise State Even in 2004 when Utah was dominate they weren’t the only dominating G5 team. Boise State and Louisville also went 12-1, with Boise State losing on the road to Arkansas and Louisville losing on the road to #9 Miami. Granted Utah was a phenomenal team that year - likely much better than their 2008 team. However, the best G5 team of the BCS era statistically was 2010 Boise State.

I think Houston would be a better fit because most of the big 12 teams (mainly the texas ones) were all in the same conference as Houston in the 90's. Houston is good enough, and it would geographically make sense. UCF would make a good ACC team with florida state and miami to play every year as rivals.

That year Oregon was taken in the championship over TCU, which was 100% BS. Since the Pac10 champion wasn’t going to play in the Rose bowl, rules dictated that if a Non-AQ team was ranked higher than the next in line Pac10 team then they would go. TCU was #3 and Stanford was #5, which is why TCU played Wisconsin. Although TCU really should have played Auburn in the national championship.

UCFs bid was an automatic bid. American was the big east and got the auto bid for one year. In fucking sick and tired of the american and UCF counting that as a NY6 game

If Big East teams aren't included then there shouldn't have been C. Florida against Baylor in the Fiesta. Secondly if you wanted to include C. Florida as a G-5 you should have included the Peach Bowl. UCF was in the Big East.
