I love the way you continue to build on what's working and develop it into it's own thing! GWOTD - who knew! But it's great. Truly! When I was learning 16th notes / and having trouble holding it in my head - an extended techniques singing teacher I had for a class suggested that I try the word 'ta' for 16th notes if the "1 e + a" became too much of a mouth full. It can feel like marbles in your mouth sometimes where 'ta' (1 ta ta ta 2 ta ta ta) is a bit more neutral and you can use it for multiple rhythms - triplets (1 ta ta, 2 ta ta) for instance .... anyway just thought I'd pass on something I've never forgotten, like 30 years never forgotten! 1 e + a is still awesome - but if it becomes a mouth full try 'ta' it might work for you too! Anyway, congrats on the refreshed GWOTD! Impressive!

Great rhythm exercise! Think it would help to do 1/8 notes as all down picks, since have to do that for 1/16 notes? Seems to help me when strumming songs with 1/16 notes

That could totally work, if the tempo allows for it. Consider it like driving stick shift - it the RPMs are revving too much (downstrokes aren't keeping up) - then it's time to switch to alternate picking, the higher gear for easier speed.

@@guitarfriendtim When I use a pick, I mostly do alternate picking regardless of tempo. Two reasons: I find that if I alternate up and down strokes the rhythm is in the up and down motion of my wrist , which for me is easier to keep my time solid; the other reason is that I can go from from quarter notes to sixteenth notes without changing techniques and w/o thinking about it. If you work at it, you can get one's upstrokes to sounds like downstrokes. Good lesson. Incidentally, I'm a bass player.

Guitar players hate this: Mundane rhythm with few notes for extended periods.

As a drummer I completely agree. If you want to lessen in groove, consistency. Go listen to anything Catfish and his brother Bootsie played on with james brown. Just like everybody doesn't realize how great Eddie Van Halen.Or Jimi were at playing rhythm. It's not about the solo every time.

At the moment it's a (somewhat complicated) DIY combo of: midi guitar + ipad + OBS. That said, soundslice is great, for just viewing interactive tabs that also include a fretboard view.

What a joke! Don't waste your time...unless you're extremely rhythmically impared.
