Every Dog Owner In Arizona Needs To Know About This

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Dogs have no natural history with rattlesnakes and don’t know to avoid them. As a result, dogs are often bitten by them ... but there's a fix. Rattlesnake aversion training teaches dogs to avoid rattlesnakes using simple, safe, and effective correction techniques. Marissa visits Rattlesnake Ready in Cave Creek, Arizona, to get her dog trained. Meanwhile, Nick and Jeff run a couple of snake removal calls nearby.

I honestly can't say enough great things about this channel. The quality of content is superb, great information, but most importantly is the respect you treat these animals with. Nice to see you guys showcase someone like Cody who clearly seems to share your values, looks like he's running a great program over at Rattlesnake Ready. Thanks so much for doing what yall do!

Thank you for sharing Yuma's training, Marissa. He looked like he learned really well. I'd like to do that with my dog. And thank you to Rattlesnake Ready and all the other businesses that provide the service so families can teach their dogs and ensure their improved safety in snake country.

Big fan of this channel. Snake avoidance training is a very effective way to prevent a dog from being bitten by a rattlesnake. I also get my dogs the vaccine, which gives you a little more time to get to medical help. I'm often 2 hrs away from the nearest vet clinic, so time is super important. So glad you brought this issue up and provided real example of the training.

Thank you so much for sharing Yuma's training with Rattlesnake Ready. We are in an area of Southern California with lots of rattlesnakes. Several companies offer training for dogs. Yuma is clearly a well trained pup, so I bet he learned extra quickly.

I was going to make a joke about training rattlesnakes to train dogs but in light of how serious this topic is I'm just pleased to know that there is this sort of training available and considering what his mommy does for a living Yuma surely will benefit

Thank you for posting this video! I just wish every dog owner would get their dogs trained and avoid a huge vet bill or the loss of a beloved family pet! I offer the classes in Joshua Tree California March through Early November. I started because I love rattlesnakes and dogs and have been handling them since 1966. My snakes are housed in a natural 300 sq ft greenhouse where they have the right of way!! I do not use terrariums anymore. This allows me to better interact with them and learn more about their personalities. I have spoke to Cody before and highly recommend his professional touch! Kudos to the entire Rattlesnake Solutions team for protecting our amazing wildlife and educating the general public about the complex lives of rattlesnakes! I have relocated rattlesnakes for my neighbors since 1998 and now have 12 locals who I can refer rescues to which I trained. At 71 years of age now I prefer referring rescues! God bless you all and a very Merry Christmas!!!

AMEN to avoidance training!!! It really does work and can help avoid a lot of heartache. This training was effective even for my parents' "not so bright" boxers. If it worked for them, it should work for nearly any dog. JUST DO IT! Yuma's one smart dog. One correction and he's got it! Now he saying "I don't like this park anymore", lets go home.

I need this for my dogs in Oklahoma. I have one of those "Knuckleads"- he's part Boxer. I have a huge Blacksnake that visits and is welcome around my house- he's my mouser. I've had to rescue him twice from my dogs. They both did not listen and without a doubt had it been a venomous snake one or both would have been bitten. We do have venomous snakes where I live- NortheastOklahoma, not often but it only takes once. Always a pleasure to see what adventures find you guys. Thanks for sharing, stay safe and GOD bless

My wife and I are both from the Deep South. Back in the’70’s, we moved out west for a few years. She and I are both gardeners. Beautiful plants are wonderful enhancements to property. We also raised most of our own vegetables. She decided to put in a rock garden with various flowering cactus plants. One day she came across a really big rattlesnake that had the audacity to make it’s home amongst her rocks and plants. As our Momma’s had taught us, having a long handled, well sharpened garden hoe is a must have for every property owner. My wife went to the garden shed, got the long handled hoe and took care of the rattlesnake. Problem solved without calling a pest control company. 👍

That's what you might think, unless you look into it and start to understand the underlying situation. The actions you describe will not make the situation more safe, simply because it doesn't prevent the next encounter. When a snake is spotted, the danger is over: the goal is to modify the situation so that these encounters are less frequent, and even predictable. I understand the reasons why the old way was done, but thankfully, we now know much more about how these animals operate, and have much better ways to provide actual safety. So while killing it might feel like "problem solved", it's really not at all.
