Bishop Brennan is such a great character. Fun fact, Jim Norton was also Mr Mason in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Its up there as one of the best.we had so many good comedy's over the decades shame we will never see anything like this again.

Bishop Brennan is quite misunderstood. Ted is a thief or at least dishonest, Dougal is a potentially dangerous simpleton and Jack is a drunken letch all of which Len handles with great restraint as he kept the "Vatican out of it" and has given them an lovely island and a big house to live in. Len is not blameless, fathered a child in America which loves and looks after, has intimate baths with nubiles but its all NORMAL behaviour I assure you. He has sympathy for Ted after he falls down the stairs, gives a car as a raffle prize and has a fear of rabbits.

I heard about this show over 20 years ago when this Irish couple at my Catholic church told me about it. This was before streaming so I found some DVDs and I exploded laughing every episode especially how liberal they were with language in Ireland and especially with the taboo themes in so many of the episodes.

Jim norton such a great actor. Has done much more than this

His name was Dermot Morgan and the actor Frank Kelly who played Father Jack, died on the exact same date, 9 years later. Weird
