I was in Antalya for a vacation. Took a taxi to go to Side and all of a sudden our driver stopped and stood in the middle of a busy road and frankly we were afraid. The cars were piling up behind us but they were not honking or shouting at us. They followed our taxi driver as he stood with a tear in everyones eye. Later on our ride i asked the driver about it. He simply replied. "We lost our father. How can i not stop and mourn our father?" Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

I experienced it when in Istanbul in a hotel room facing the Marmara Sea. I heard the Sirens and then there was complete stillness. I am not exaggerating: even the birds stopped singing. They sensed something is unusual.

the religious muslims arent showing respect to atatürk. Because Atatürk used to drink alcohol and smoke. But it wasnt his fault. Atatürk was a genius, and because of this structural difference, he couldn't sleep and was sick. When he didn't drink alcohol, his life turned into a nightmare because of this difference and he couldn't think of anything.

​@@coldpllay seeing turkey atm, ataturk is praised like a god, i saw a news article saying a teacher swore against our prophet (pbuh) and only 2 girls said something, others not daring to speak, in another article i read, a man got attacked by multiple people after he swore against ataturk, the respect for islam is gone and i can barely call turkey an islamic state, because of the insane amounts of uneducated muslims(and kafirs) , the insane amount of people who disrespect islam, and people who dont follow the religion, nowadays you see lots of people in turkey drinking alcohol, lgbtq is more widespread in turkey, increase in atheists, christianity and other religions, if the caliphate had remained i doubt this wouldve occurred, ataturk was a heavy drinker himself, he removed many islamic laws, turned turkey into a securalist state, made it more western, i know he brought alot of benefits but in my opinion his downsides are alot worse than his benefits, he wasnt any different as your description of sultans. About the modern turkey, turkey was basically short explained a vassal of the west, we have been supported alot by the west, the countries you named Saudi, Iran, Syria are all destroyed by either corrupt leaders, terrorists and the US waged war on these countries because they were alot more "islamists" then we were, respect for islam decreased after ataturk made these so called reforms, also as much as you can call turkey a "stable" country after those reforms is laughable, turkey didn't and still doesnt have a stable economy, in 1970 was the economy at its worst, thats why alot of people migrated to germany, the netherlands belgium norway and other countries that had better living conditions than turkey, in the early 21th century recep tayyib erdogan made changes that atleast made the economy better from what it was, but it obviously has inflated again, but turkey still has better living conditions then the 20th century all together, in sha allah the inflation will decrease. also, about the other islam states, as i said before they have been influenced alot, thats mainly why we are the most developed "islamic" state

@@coldpllay also, we were too late with our reforms, the ottoman empire in the late 19th century was no different than modern turkey in terms of respect for islam, ataturk was a puppet sent by the west to finally make turkey into a puppet, they first destabilized the empire starting in mid 18th century and when it was in such a state that it could be transformed, they sent ataturk which made the beutiful ottoman empire into an puppet, before the 18th century the ottoman empire was literally one of the strongest, i can see as why everyone views the empire as a disaster because of their written history in mid 18th century to 20th century, i hate how everyone uses the 18th century to the 20th century as an example, before the 18th century as i said ottoman empire was one of the strongest the weakness of the empire came from the isolation it had after big victories in anatolia and the middle east, the ottomans werent informed on the advancements in technology and the new tactics originated in europe, they were really isolated and they believed their tactics were still the undefeatable tactics that led them to victory in anatolia and in the middle east, the main reason why ataturk won was because of his military education in the ottoman reformed academies where he learned the newly found european tactics, under the support of the west he finally made turkey into a western secularist puppet

I was in Fethiye a few weeks ago. I spotted some little donuts being fried. I asked to buy some but the family told me they’re free. There was a white board with a name of their deceased relative. Apparently it’s what some Turkish families do to remember their dead. How lovely xx

This is our tradition to give food at anniversary of our lost ones. Food varies from area to area. In west coast we give that donut looking fresh bakeries. We call it "lokma" So in my city noone stays hungry because there is always somewhere free lokma arıund 10-20 blocks. We dont take money for food just expect a good wish or prayet for the sake of our belıved loss. Other parts of Turkey people give other types of food like rice and chicken meat. And the tradition in the video is above all. Every year 10 th of november 09:05 life stops for a minute.

But there has been an Islamist party in power for 20 years now, the westernization of Turkey is stopped if not reversed, and it is encouraged and rewarding NOT to like him. The mourning ritual has been growing stronger and more widespread since then. Most Turks truly, geniuenly love him.

A people commemorating their ancestors with endless gratitude, deep respect, irresistible longing and proud stance on this November 10th, as they have been for 84 years. It's like no other in the world. I swear I will resist with my life to preserve his legacy. 🇹🇷💙

@Gandhara MUSLIM☪️ its in the description but ı will explain anyway. Almost a hundred years ago in 1938 10th November and exactly at 09.05 our ancestor, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk has died. So every year at november 10th at 09.05 we mourn and pay our respects to him. We are talking about a man who gave all of his life for his nation and his people. So we give a minute of our lives to him every year and the most beatiful part of this is its not mandatory so millions of people stops and remember him together. İts such a feeling its almost divine and its overwhelming so we tend to get emotional.

@Gandhara MUSLIM☪️ well the thing is, even in my ID it says "Muslim" ı did not change it just because of the simple fact that ı dont care what it says :D so the majority is muslim but there are still a lot of different faiths in the country and among the young people atheisim and deisim is on the rise. So the official numbers may not show the truth and besides that everybody has their own way of believe system. Most of the people ı know are calling themselfs "Muslim" but they are really practicing it you know ? Ofc there are some people ı guess you can say "Quite religious" and there are people like me and there are all sort of different faith groups like christians etc.

I didn't cry at my father's funeral, seriously. But I cry every 10th or november.
