I remember a few seasons back (think it was the 15/16 season) where Chelsea were doing terribly in the league especially for their standards since they just won the league the previous season, and suddenly they’re in like 14th position and in a complete rut losing every week under Jose mourinho, I remember loving it at first as a Liverpool fan, and then a lot of neutral fans came to the unanimous conclusion that it started not to get funny anymore. It started getting quite sad actually, and you realised you didn’t actually want Chelsea to go down (obviously some do but real football fans didn’t). I’m starting to get that feeling here for Arsenal, I actually don’t mind arsenal too much as a Liverpool fan, yes you make yourselves look like fools with the whole Arteta broke Klopp meme but I don’t think that represents arsenal. Just like how basically everyone in the PL wanted Leeds back we will eventually not want arsenal to go down. Yes there’s rivalries but there’s also a form of respect, you are an established premier league side and the third most successful club in England, you simply cannot go down to the championship. FIX IT!

I think going down might be the best thing for them in the long term because they obviously haven't learnt any lessons over the last 15 years and it might be the kick up the arse that they need or maybe they even sell the club to someone else at that point. The club needs a fresh start because there are too many problems at the club and relegation might be the only way to get rid of some of that deadwood.

I hope they go down. The disrespect they showed Wenger and the fact they still blame him. Wenger got you guys top 4 on a regular basis with a limited budget in comparison to City, Chelsea and United. Yes Leicester won the league but that was an anomaly and a freak result. Even til this day, you hear arsenal fans blame Wenger because these players were part of his reign but he NEVER had them lingering around the relegation zone, no matter how bad it got. "Be careful what you wish for" is what arsenal fans were told but these guys were too arrogant and entitled. Now they think they're too big to get relegated? Joke club. I honestly wish they get relegated, classless club.

Arteta is clearly unsuited to managing Arsenal. His experience at Man City with their virtually limitless funds for players and a manager who everywhere he has managed has been able to buy the best players to play in his system, has left Arteta lacking the skills and experience of coaching a club like Arsenal. At Arsenal he has to maximise the potential of what he has by good coaching and clever tactics. He never had to do that at City and he would very likely not have learnt much about such things working alongside Guardiola as he has never had to do that at any of the clubs that he has coached in his career. Arteta arrived at Arsenal full of the confidence acquired by proxy, with a clear plan and a strong sense of purpose. But now he has to learn how to be adaptable and creative. I don't think a big club like Arsenal can afford to give him the time to learn on the job, he needs to start small first so he has the time to acquire the skills and experience he would not have gained at a well funded club like Man City.

Allegri won Serie A every year as Juventus manager and was the last manager to win the league with Milan. He got Juventus to 2 champions league finals and lost them to a great Barca team and a great Real Madrid team. He's a world class manager I believe he would turn Arsenal around

Arteta coaching style fits national teams , where you only need a good defensive shape and that’s it.

You forgot laca, Pepe, and let us not forget the worst of the worst Xhaka. At the same time you can argue, why Willian is a top player for Chelsea but shite for arsenal. When he was at Chelsea, scored quite a few goals against arsenal and Tottenham lol For the others, they just lack quality. Leeds don’t even want nketiah.

The gem of all coaches is Nuno Espirito Santo. Look at what he’s done at wolves and I just get a great feel about his character. We need a charismatic coach people are willing to get behind! Klopp, Mourinho, Guardiola, Wenger, Fergie are all charismatic in their own way. Either Emery or Arteta is.

Arteta would do good job managing the under 23, but not the first team, or one of the coaching staff in the first team

'He's a good coach, but he's out of his depth'. You wouldn't say that about a player - he would simply be not good enough.

I'd argue that the point Robbie makes about all the teams robbing points off each other shows that the competition in the league much higher, rather than it being a sign of an easier season, its a harder season. Not defending Arsenal who are piss poor, but Everton, Leicester, Southampton and I hate to say Spurs and Chelsea are all much improved this season. Their recruitment has boosted the squads, our recruitment is papering over cracks, really we need another 7/8 players to be anywhere near the standard of the top four. And that's without also taking into account the low confidence and poor squad depth. It is depressing, but totally quantifiable.

Totally agree with you. It is a sign of a competitive and good league. I dont understand the relevance either. If there were 4 or 5 teams far ahead of others then what difference does that make to Arsenals league position? Respect for your write up there.
