The last good album they release was The Inner Circle. they sucked after that. Sounds like auto pilot, garbage how the vocals sound. The dark despair and raspy vocals have been gone ever since. How a band can fall so hard is insane to me. Solitude, Truth, Recreation and Circle. 4 masterpiece albums followed by pure garbage. Makes me sad and ever grey every time I think about it :(

You have LOTS of catching up to do! This yr. marks their 30th anniversary! 1st album "THE DARK DISCOVERY" came out all the way back in '98. Many great albums & songs, & many lineup changes too! Tom Englund is the only original member left.

It is an absurd that I have been a metalhead for 15 years, constantly trying to discover new bands and metal genres, and I only discovered Evergrey this year. These guys are so epic, they really deserve more credit and recognition

I discovered Evergrey when Patrick was leaving, and Jonas were there, amazingly pushing forward the band with The Inner Circle drums, a pure, heavy, dark and tight sound. Alongside Hakansson, Kainulainen and Niemann, Evergrey got a rock solid "kitchen", and his way of playing fit so well... Is hard to say goodbye again, I'm thankfull I got to atend to a gig in Brazil and felt the massive sound echoing through my body, and I'll try my best to be there again this year. THANK YOU, for your soul in music, thank you Evergrey, for all the great stuff.

Farewell Jonas! Your drumming, ear for groove, and your ability to really elevate all the melodies are on par with some of the Swedish greats from all over the metal world. Your work on 'The Atlantic' helped me rediscover this band for the first time since hearing 'In Search of Truth', and has kept me here since! I hope to hear new music from you in the future!

Every Evergrey song is a joy

The first Evergrey album that I had the pleasure of listening to was Escape of the Phoenix at the end of 2021. I liked the album's spectacular cover at first glance and decided to click to see what it was like. Best decision of my life. Since then, an instant fan. I also loved what I heard in A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament) and now I'm counting down the days until the beginning of next month to listen to this Theories of Emptiness!! I'm not Swedish, but I liked the country's metal so much that in addition to Evergrey, I became a fan of 7 other bands from the country😅 If there are Swedes here in the comments, thank you very much for having such a gold mine of incredible musicians. I hope they continue to produce great bands in future generations.

For 20 years, they have been one of my favourite rock/metal bands, and they have yet to disappoint. Incredible dedication to musical excellence. I only wish mixing and mastering was a little bit better sometimes, but this might be subjective.

Very emotive way to say goodbye to Jonas, the same way Patrick Carlsson handle the drumsticks to Jonas on the "I'm Sorry" videoclip. I would've love to see the new drummer on the video, it would have been a nice way to welcome him. Sad Sad Day! 😢

I'm from Brazil. Evergrey is my favorite band since 2006. Now i'm 34 years old.

This is probably gonna be my favorite song on the album. The production on this song is even better than the last. The groove is ridiculous. The song itself is catchy, and the playing is amazing as usual. I seriously hope the ending doesn't mean Jonas is leaving because he's a giant part of Evergrey. Whatever it is, thank you, Jonas.

@@felixtroche2226 difference is that this time it seems more clearly amicable. I'm guessing Jonas has other commitments that would make touring too problematic (Young kids? Can't afford it? Dunno). Similar issue to why Johan Langell left Pain of Salvation. I'm seriously bummed, as I was overjoyed when Jonas and Henrik came back, but this definitely feels like a happier departure. Jonas will be missed!

Great song! But now the Heavy Metal Evergrey world is in turmoil....WHAT'S WITH THAT FUCKING ENDING? Jonas NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jonas has been so important to the writing process, the sound, the unconventional timing and rhythms between what the guitars are doing vs the drums. This is a little bit of a blow tbh.
