Usually the "two lovers running towards each other" scene is reserved for the young, attractive leads, but instead they gave it to these two, who have already spent almost a full life together yet still weren't ready to be apart. God, forget most romance movies, this scene right here is what makes you believe in love.

Her husband was SOLD for the Americas. She thought she would NEVER see him again. And there she is, she made peace with that, she's strong, still working on the land... and like a vision, he's back. I'll never get over this.

Just a beautiful scene. Films usually forget to show that the elderly still have lives and I loved this moment. She loved her husband, but had given up hope of seeing him again. And yet Danielle brings him back to her.

The 2017 of Cinderella isn’t so bad Come to think of it, it’s the only Disney live action movie that’s good (And don’t forget 101 Dalmatians featuring Glenn Close)
Such a precious scene. And I love this version of Cinderella. No singing mice here. Danielle does her magic through kindness. She just worked a miracle for these people. They'd given up hope. That music makes it even more emotional.

You're absolutely right about this version. There are no mystical elements throughout the film. Just the telling of a tale about a young girl who has to deal with the real problems of her world, and somehow through wit and resolve, good things eventually happen to have her world turn out for the better. Plus, it allows one to believe that such a story can be possible - a long time ago... ☺️
“I have paid your- my debt my lady. They said I could go home.” “Fine. Go.- catch a chicken.” LOL
This is more heartwarming than if they had been a young couple. Chances are he would have died of old age before being able to return. So difficult not to cry when you see someone so happy they look like they're a sobbing mess, she never thought she'd see him again. Edit: not a single dislike to this vid so far, and how could you really?

Since the day I saw this in theaters I have always loved this scene. Everything sets the mood so wonderfully. The camera shots, the moving soundtrack, the emmotion pouring out from all the performers, everything. I love how earlier Maurice tells her he thought he was looking at her mother and then here Drew justs stand back and lets them reunite til they bring her back to the fold; this and later Jacqueline are her real family and you can just feel the love. Still brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.

I like how Danielle went to bring maurice back home & surprised his wife lousie in ever after a cinderella story movie I have a best friend named Danielle & every time I watch the movie Danielle de barbarac cuz she kinda has a personality like my best friend does
Growing up, I felt much closer to the help than my cousins, so the ups and downs of their lives made me happy or sad as well. I felt honoured and privileged to see those otherwise personal sides of their lives, and they would share those moments with me just as Danielle did with her staff. I helped out with funeral needs when our present maid lost her father, and I was also happy to be principal godfather to the daughter of my grandparents' chauffeur and housekeeper. They're honest and loyal, and very much my chosen family since they have stayed so long with us. I recall coming out to our late housemaid, and being devastated when she died young as she was already an older sister who accepted me for who I am.
Im still here 2023... ❤
I loved this scene! Still can’t get over how happy this made me feel! 🥰

Barrymore's character wasn't the typical super pretty girl that most people would expect to play a Cinderella. She was more like any normal young woman of the world, but she had charm, depth, intelligence, and poise for who she was and that made her even more beautiful.

First, you have to know it's kind of an adaptation of the tale of Cinderella. Maurice, the old man was sold to Jacques Cartier by the baroness (the stepmother) for paying her debts and about to be departed to the Americas with others people destined to be slave. Danielle, the young girl (Cinderella) met the prince who gave her money for her silence (he run away of the castle and stole one of her father's horse) and decided to use it for freeing Maurice (she disguised as a noblewoman for this). This scene is when they come back home and Maurice and his wife, Louise, are reunited
Better than the titanic....oop! Nevermind....you can't compare them. 💙
Cute
Aside from the wife and Danielle, was the woman the daughter of Maurice? That always confused me.
@edwardx4979
10 ай бұрын
The woman was just one of the servants who happen to be one their dearest friends. Remember that Danielle's father was the master of the estate and she was loyal to Danielle and her father as well as Maurice and his wife, Louise. Hope this clarified things! 😊 Oh, her name is Paulette in case you wanted to know...
