However, there’s a fault in their programming that allows them to feel. To distinguish right from wrong, good and bad. There’s different storylines you get to play and you choose the way the story plays out. It’s a really fun game . But a scary concept.

    No, the government in the USA actually warned people about COVID. The government is not a sentient entity of its own, it is made up of a large number of people. So your assertion is false. It seems it was more people who didn’t want to follow protocols who were more prone to transmit or catch the disease. I am all for freedom, and understand some people’s refusal to obey a government order due to general distrust, but this becomes problematic when there is something actually harmful going on and the gov’t orders actually have people’s best interests at heart.

  • @andrewbarrett1537

    @andrewbarrett1537

    2 жыл бұрын

    The vaccines were rushed due to great demand for them from many people, and in the hopes they would slow down and stop the pandemic (or, reduce the effects from fatal to just a bad cold) even despite many people criticizing them and refusing to take them. Many of those same people were the same ones claiming that the pandemic was a hoax and going around visiting people, going out, throwing parties etc even at the height of the pandemic, which undoubtedly worsened it by spreading the disease even though many of them showed no symptoms (since you can show no symptoms but still be a carrier or host). So part of the reason the vaccine development was so rushed was to try to combat the effects of the people who would not follow orders and stay home, spreading the disease. Had more people stayed home longer and did the right thing, the disease would have spread much more slowly, and more time would have been available to properly develop a vaccine rather than rushing one to market. So I have no use for people who first whine about the pandemic being a ‘hoax’ and act stupidly endangering their fellow people, and then turn around and whine about the vaccines being ‘rushed to market’. That is pure hypocrisy and failure to personally take responsibility for some of the problem.

    Thank God Covid-19 was just an overrated flu that the media turned into a bogy man. I had it and I had common colds that was worse. The reason covid-19 made it as far as it did is because China knew about it for 2 months and kept their mouths shut about it until 2 doctors from their that has not been heard from since open their traps but China did a good job for them self keeping it under control. If China gave the rest of the world warning we could have done the same thing.

    Nanotechnology can be dealt with easily using makeshift EMP weapons and radar. Not to mention we can use nanotechnology to protect ourselves from other nanotechnology. I'm sure you could even program your own internal nanobots to essentially create a "Faraday box"-type surface layer around a persons body that would disable/jam any mosquito-type nanobot instantly. EMP shielding nanobots would take a massive amount of resources, and that can be exploited.

    “Makeshift” EMP weapons don’t even exist, the only way to trigger an EMP is launching a nuke into the ionosphere and that will disable everything on the ground within a certain radius. A Faraday cage only blocks out electromagnetic radiation, but it doesn’t prevent something from physically attaching to you and “infecting” you.

These are what give the camera its flash and is designed to release all of its energy very quickly. Now take 10-20 of these and solder them into a circuit and connect them to a trigger. You could use a flashlight chassis for this. You now have a portable, directional, makeshift emp device capable of temporarily disabling common CCTV systems. Just because you are blind to information does not mean it doesn't exist.

    About volcanoes, it's interesting that volcanoes are generally considered GOOD for agriculture - earth around volcanoes had historically been regarded as very fertile, with populations settling next to volcanoes to benefit from the enhanced crop yields. While the eruption itself may clear the area of life, nature (and often people too) usually resettle the area fairly quickly. It's like with forest fires, which create fertile ground that regrows fairly quickly. It's not exactly a 'wasteland for centuries' scenario. I suppose a massive supervolcano could be different, maybe 'too much of a good thing' becomes a bad thing, and maybe some volcano eruptions have more toxic compounds than others? Dunno. Anyway, as far as volcanic winter or ice age, I always though it was associated with 'increased volcanic activity' and many, many eruptions over a period of years, rather than a single supercharged volcano doing it all in a single eruption.

  • @Tennouseijin

    @Tennouseijin

    As for the 'lone wolf' scenario... I wouldn't worry too much about it. Generally, laboratories are effective at what they do, because they have the resources, including manpower, to do it. There are some limitations too - generally it's hard to do 'unethical' things in a public funded laboratory, with the possible exception of 'controversial unethical things' which are unethical, but accepted by a significant portion of the population. But things that are unacceptable by the grand majority of the population would be hard to pull off. Private laboratories may have slightly more room for secrecy, and a lone wolf scientist may be able to disregard ethics completely, which may give him some more opportunities. But still, without the manpower, without a massive laboratory, conducting thousands of experiments simultaneously, a lone wolf scientist would still be at a massive disadvantage compared to laboratories working in public. Not to mention, how would he buy equipment, samples, whatever, without anyone noticing? Sure, basic equipment might be available. But more advanced equipment, the kind that only highly specialized laboratories have, custom made for their needs? Now that's a different story. And I imagine his only option to test his 'invention' would be computer simulations, maybe animal tests, maybe in vitro testing on human tissue? But human tests? I guess he'd have to just do 'live tests', hoping that failed attempts don't get him caught, before he actually makes a successful attempt.

    Interesting comment! That’s actually a good point. Also, the Spanish Flu killed many young people due to an immune response called a cytokine storm. During the time many of the population were younger than todays, life expectancy was less and the better the immune system, the risk of cytokine storm grew higher. This is when your immune system attacks body structures on top of the virus (like a overdose), and as young people are known to have greater immune function they had potential to trigger a cytokine storm. This lead to fluid build up in the lungs. Many died because of that, and since the younger population was so high, the death toll was also high. So today I do think the Spanish flu would cause more impact than a bad flu season, it’d definitely be harder to control without drastic medical intervention and hospitals being overrun by lack of resources (as we’ve seen with ventilators during Covid). But I do think you are right in the sense that covid is far worse than some people admit, considering how far technology has advanced. I’m currently studying medicine and think that is a good way to think of things.
