"tack" is indeed from the military. It's a 'hard' word making it easier to understand over a radio. 'dash' is much softer. Also, this is exactly why you want an MSE.

OK. I need to give a tip now. You've been at it long enough. ;) Make a perch. I prefer to call them Initial Points (IP). Warp to the site at 100km. If you are closer than 150 to your target make a temporary bookmark and warp away. Warp back to that temp at 100km. Now you have a spot where you can sit safe and warp down to your target, and then back up again. This will allow you to make shorter faster warps to safety as well as eliminate the problem of targets coming back to a new spot (If they do just warp to an asteroid near them.) GREAT WORK. It's awesome to see people enjoying these drawn out engagements where the hunt is often more the thing than the actual kill. If nothing else it means I'm no freak. Well that, or we both are.

"tack" is monosyllabic phoenetic for the hyphen so that it is very distinct and short so you know what it is but you can get on with what is being said faster. Speed of communication more or less. It originated in USAF radio chatter and has spread to most of the world. It was originally for separating information and not really how Eve pilots use it but it works for that use regardless.

In my experience using tac instead of dash is because it is much clearer to hear over comms when you have large amounts of noise in the back ground :)

As Always, you crack me up... Had you taken the VNI while he was busy with the rats, you could have killed him. Also... you mis-clicked your disruptor. Pro-Tip, make sure you Lock your modules in place... this helps avoid the server from thinking you're trying to move the mod, vs trying to activate it. Also... you really need to build up your courage... the longer you wait, the greater the odds of you losing your target. Cheers o7

Lol..mining in a Ret can take a while. A maxed out mining barge (ret) will have around 27,500 m3 ore hold capacity (just under the min ore hold cap of the t2 variant and I think one mining cycle is around 160 seconds which should net you around 1.3k m3 ore (actually 2.4-2.6k ore per cycle since there are two strip miners). My Ret isn't maxed out and even with mining laser upgrades it takes around 30mins to fill it..provided I'm not fighting someone for ore (still in high sec btw). Great vid btw. Liked and subbed.

You could right click the wreck and save location then warp right on it, would save some time after future skirmishes :P

Overheat before you activate your modules. You never had him pointed because when you tried to activate your point it still had a 20km range. So, Shift+Click, then Click to activate. This will allow the first cycle of your mods to gain the bonuses of overheating.

If you want lots of easy kills on barges, Provi is the place to be. I will say this however, don't scoff at a Procurer or Skiff coming to get you, if you try and take a Skiff solo that has drones, you will die. A skiff can have 150k ehp easily and they are very, very good bait ships.

Not sure if you caught it, but I noticed that you tried to activate your scram before overheating it. It never activated because it was out of range! He may have had a sliver of hope had he tried to warp. :)

My guy, you need to fit a bomb launcher for nulli ops, then you could pop said retreiver and be gone long before the corax shows up.

Drones or not, a retriever would have no chance against those rats

If that is indeed his main account which I assume it is since he sounds like really new(ish) player in some of his videos he started his account in March, and his first kill was in May. zkillboard.com/character/94447432/stats/ Though i should mentioned, you can start pvp from the very first day. Your choices will be limited because of your lack of understanding of the game, and obviously your lack of SP (skill points) but you can start from the very first day, if you find a group of players in a corporation that does pvp alot, like for example corporations that do faction warfare, or perhaps Brave Newbies in nullsec, you can start doing pvp as soon as you want. You will die a lot, but since you will mostly be flying frigates that are quite cheap, your losses won't mean much.

I was going to say the same thing. I was probably "able" to do PvP after the first week, but I wasn't successful for the first two months or so. I will note I actually did PvP before May, I just lost. One of my first encounters was against a Tristan that kicked my ass, but the guy bought me a new ship just to be nice!

Be careful when checking the hitpoints on a potential target. Just because the Retriever shows 2,300 HP in shields and 1,700 in armor doesn't mean that the ship only has 4000 HP. That info view is going to be very generic, and doesn't account for any possible tank modules. I've seen Retrievers fitted so that their Effective Hit Points are closer to 20,000. In this case, you could guess from the business with the drones that maybe he wouldn't have been fitting a quality tank (you can always make educated guesses before engaging) but it's still something you might want to keep in mind going forward, especially when you suspect that he might have allies waiting close-by and you need to strike fast and get out before they arrive.

So you went KOS for CVA (and many others) for a Retriever. LOL idk if you know but there is a reason why that Retriever pilot felt so safe just solo mining in an otherwise busy region in low and null space. Given that I hang around in Provi too youre red to me now. Sad :D

theelous3 Mostly true. But because of their NRDS policy Providence is a good place for newer players to check out low and null space. Eve is a tough game and newer players have a hard time getting into it and exploring when entering low sec results in getting ganked by veterans who you'd think have better things to do than killing newbies.

Retrievers are not that great in Null-sec Mining. Procurers may carry less but they are cheaper and more mobile

You went KOS to CVA for a retriever?... Like, you could have flown around for hours with impunity and hunted down something juicy to kill. Still, good kill, and a lot of people wont have you set red until you start killing more ships. Happy hunting.

Oof. Nothing personal, but for the sake of anyone watching trying to learn bombers, every step of this was almost the exact wrong thing to do for jumping miners. The fit- no shield extenders, but an afterburner and double painter? A medium shield extender would more than double your hp. He wouldn't have even gotten halfway through your shields. Ditching the 2nd painter is more than worth that. If you're just going to be jumping miners with nothing but drones for defense, there's no reason at all for an afterburner. You put an AB on bombers to keep your traversal up orbiting. They're worthless against drones. And no bombs? The target- WHY DID YOU NOT IMMEDIATELY JUMP THE RETRIEVER??? A lone mining retriever is the #1 dream target for any bomber pilot. They are expensive, helpless, and made of paper. You always, always, always attack the instant you get into warp disruptor range, sometimes even before then! There's almost zero chance of his drones killing you before you before you kill him, and absolute zero chance if you have that shield extender. Seriously, shield extender- With a medium shield extender, you have a good chance at taking out even Procurers and Skiffs, an excellent chance if you can take out their drones with a bomb. The Vexor- were you putting on an act when you were surprised that warrior IIs are fast and that Vexors don't fit guns? I can't imagine that being news to anyone who's played more than a couple months. The looting- WHY ARE YOU STICKING AROUND TO LOOT? You KNOW he has combat fitted friendlies in system! A Retriever is going to drop MAYBE 4 mil in loot, and you're taking an excellent chance of losing your 40mil bomber to scoop it. If you absolutely have to loot, then uncloak and fire right next to him so the wreck is right there as soon as he dies. My jaw dropped when you took the time to warp away, warp back, and go loot the wreck. Then it dropped again when you went to scoop the drones! At that point I was surprised you didn't stop and spent two minutes trying to salvage the wreck! You were lucky you were up against the apparently most incompetent miner and response buddies ever. Normally in this situation you have less than 30 seconds before buddies show up. I'm sure you have some other excellent EVE videos. You obviously play a lot, but this is extremely sloppy bomber play.

Damn, you're bad. First, you don't have to overheat your warp disruptor if you are within the disrupting range, second, your warp disruptor wasn't even active in that fight.

NEMESIS cloak bomb launcher, (emp bomb) 3x meta 4 torp launcher (CN torps) warp disruptor II meta 4 painter meta 2 mwd(do the coreli c-type if you can afford it and fit it.) small cap booster II Ballistic contro system II co-processor II small bay loading accelerator 1 small ancillary current router II considering all the smaller ships you take out a bomb launcher would help a lot. hope this helps!
