As a dedicated high-sec carebear with exactly ONE pvp fight that I've ever willingly gone into, this is exactly the perspective I'm interested in when it comes to pvp in EvE. At some point I will likely try out pvp again (though the adrenaline I tend to get while my ship is in danger is uncomfortable and thus a major barrier to me enjoying the activity to any extent), but atm I'm fairly happy with Project Discovery, mining, and doing some light lvl1-2 anomaly ratting.
Kybereck, first time watching your videos, this is super helpful!!! For PVP, take risks. You'd be surprised at how close some fights can be and you get a lot better at it when forced into a tougher situation. It also builds more confidence in yourself as you keep doing it!

Before warping away from stargate, allways Look for Potential gankers. Today I I didn't Look for them, started warping from one stargate to another, uncloaked automatically, and got allmost instantly warp disrupted and killed. I guess it was my fault. Nice video m8, learned a few new things so thats always good.
Am more than just a complete and utter pvp noob, have been in game for 5 years now and all i have ever done is low key strip mining.. Pretty laid back and just relaxing to get on and chill and bust some rocks. Interesting video Sir and perhaps one day may give pvp a shot.
Very good angle on an interesting topic.
What I've learned mostly is that it a great number of fights can easily be avoided. Even gate camps with bubbles can become survivable if you are properly prepared. What I've unfortulately also learned is that those who engage in PvP are typically very good at it. Being at the right distance is not always intuitive, but good PvPers seem to know these. IGN : Spectral Spectre
I started learning pvp in high sec by constantly dueling in t1 frigates against people that knew a LOT more than me. It gave me a huge advantage when I finally decided to move from high sec to low sec. IGN: Khymii Daggerspine

Hey from way over here in East Mesa. Good vid!
Viktor Paterus. I fly a lot of small tackle and one of the intangible things I have learned is to trust you gut. If you are in a situation and you feel like it’s going to turn on you, trust yourself and live to fight another day. It’s almost always better to get off grid and reset then just losing the ship.
ING- Wild Dreams. Loved this video mate. You have learned a lot from wormhole space. Now you see why I love it 😁 I agree with your don't underestimate neuts it's why I love the curse. Doesn't show on dscan kitey and neuts at range. Keep up the great content.

Yes I would love a stabber video. I need to fly more t1 stuff. It's fun and cheap!
oh yeah, the good old tackler. When i first got into null and everyone was flying cerbs , scimis and t3 stuff they put me into a Slasher and 5mins of a manual piloting class later i was going brrr at 5km/s and pointing everything on sight, gotta love it starting out as an alpha

Beepan NOK - playing eve for more than 10 years, made me understand that every time you undock there will be someone trying to make his day on your death ☠️😊 although sometimes even inside the station people will gank you (tricking you stilling you money or items)... no1 ever spoke about Eve as a survival but to me it has been the very first survivor game in history
There is so much info in this video, it's awesome especially for a krabby player like myself. The more I watch the more a pvp fleet/corp sounds more attractive. Cheers IGN Nysa Eve

Lubin savage, can't agree more with the last point lost a orthrus to some hs gankers awhile back kinda ties in with the #1rule of eve, don't undock what your not ready to lose
I've been trying PvP for some time now, and I 100% agree about neuts. I use them a lot along with e-war (tracking diruptors mostly) and especially in fleet fights, this tactic tends to be quite usefull. Besides, I love leaving the enemy floating in space without cap just giving up while slowly being destroyed. Fly dangerous! o7 IGN: Yoake Furasshu
Great to hear/see you back at it again. IGN Duncan Idaho Tabr. Being a PVP noob myself these are always helpful, and as an aside I enjoyed the video when you were out hiking, nice to see some of the beautiful outdoors you have there.

You have that Bane guy in the corp. He is the best
Oracle is also a hidden tipp for nanno gangs as dps role. there you lern the meaning of transversal / tracking and those hits are rly nice :D But you have to position and call out if sth is trying go for you :D
Been playing now for about 2 months, been ganged while mining and exploring but never while travelling/hauling/combat missions. Tried to kill another explorer and successfully fended off a gank in my Proc on a belt the other day but then lost to the next one 2 days after. Still learning the basics before I get more into PvP. IGN: Insomniad (Brave Empire Corp)
Newb PvP have yet to get a kill but the mechanics are coming around. My downfall has been range-control. But if I make the first move it goes better. Best ones have been the surprise attack. Looking forward to trying a neut-fit. They can easily turn a fight in groups. Thanks for all the pointers. Dark Arcanum

totaly agree about ewar and neuts. i have mainly done small gang pvp, and my weapon of choice are pilgrim and curse fitted with wep disruptors and neuts. those ships are super scary and can turn 2 bill + pvps ships into useless spacedust, and makes world of difference ageinst ships that really rely on their cap for either weapons and or active tank to stay alive.
Katrina Syes-Khilorn - I learned in FW not to be afraid to lose a ship. Yeah, it happens, jump into another one and try to catch him, or his friends again somewhere...
- Cedar Crendraven I've only recently started trying PvP on a character in faction warfare. Still not very good at it, but quite enjoying tossing cheap minmatar frigates and destroyers into the metaphorical meat grinder. I've also learned that Thrashers with t2 artillery and quake ammo track far better then one would expect.

I learned the most doing solo lowsec pvp in Amarr/Minmatar militia areas. Though, filamenting into Nullsec in an AF gang taught me to d-scan properly to find Ishtars and VNI ratting in anomalies. IGN: Kale La Rune

7'th Tactical. I guess what I learn the first was to get under guns of BS while flying frigates, and always have a scram ;)
IGN: Mitsulee I've learned that doing everything faster and more efficiently than your opponent can mean the difference in winning or losing (changing ammo type/overheating/piloting maneuvers/activating modules within range/saving capacitor). In other words everything than can give a pilot an edge in an engagement :P
actually off the PVP topic, i learned blood raider ships can nosferatu cap from NPCs, so dual rep Bhaalgorn mission running is actually viable
As someone coming back to Eve online, this has been really fun to watch, gives me ideas on what I can do to expand on my "fun factor." IGN: Solar Shard
Hey, I'm "Marius Re" in game. My experience in pvp is "don't engage before you check zkill what you are engaging" 😉 I'm still learning pvp, it's difficult for sure 😊
IGN: Lord Bastion Skalagrimmr The biggest thing I've learned about PVP is to have some confidence in your abilities. I'm mostly a mining and ratting guy in null sec, so I've yet to kill other players, but just a couple days ago I was tackled on my procurer by a group of gankers, and instead of panicking like I usually do, I kept my cool, overheated my multispectrum hardeners, targeted the weakest looking of my adversaries and set my drones on them. Tried to keep a traversal angle as best I could on my slow procurer. Not only did I survive much longer than I expected (a whole 2 minutes, short I know, but still longer than I usually survive), but I also almost killed 2 of them (they warped off before my killing blow, if only i had a warp disruptor). As I said I still died, but damn that boost to confidence.
The best advice I ever got back in the day with regard to PVP and Eve in general...Ships are ammo. Don't get too attached :) Sometimes it's bloody expensive ammo, but it's ammo none the less :D IGN: Asharin
Never apologize.

Faction Warfare teaches me alot about pvp, but I'm still bad at it :/. I came from a WH corp a while back, as long as they don't hard require doctrine ships that are high sp I think those corps do allow you to learn pvp as well. Curious how you've been dealing with scanning new connections or is it something your corp mates delegate to other people.

@@eventon9372 haha yeah. It comes from ingrained paranoia. From living the solo life of a lowsec hobo you know.
Being in a large null bloc, I've found I like being logi a lot more than most other roles in a fight. Recon is too reliant on intelligence and perception and I don't have enough of either for that, links requires better skills than I have, dictors die a lot and carry too much risk of bubbling your own fleet, and being an F1 monkey is fucking boring. But logi is great because even though I don't get on kill mails, there's still enough going on to be engaging. That, and Horde's standing fleet is great cause it's just an angry mob where you bring whatever the hell you want. I can fly a stealth bomber and dick around, and I won't even slow anybody down (though the risk of awoxing my own fleet makes me pause on using the bomb in favor of the torps). Speaking of booshing, something I remember seeing in Delve a few weeks ago was some Imperium pilots got good at booshing stealth bomber's bombs into the enemy. Lost a Caracal that way zkillboard.com/kill/93247597/ I haven't actually had many cap issues with my Wolf or Hurricane, can't speak for my Maelstrom since I haven't been able to use it yet. --Jack Lagash

What I learned for PVP is that even if you do no damage, you are still important to the killmail if you ewar/tackle the ever living crap out of them. IGN: Ailleat Baybeez
So what I have learned from wormhole PVP: 1. Evictions are fun except they take a ton of commitment staring at a hole most of the time. 2. You are always going to get caught in the most unexpected way. 3. Always PVP and fly cheap ships when possible. 4. Whenever we do Null Sec roams, no one ever seems to fight us. XD 5. Wingspan doesn't like wormhole alliances. 6. Trig filaments are your best friend for escaping a potential fight. IGN - Leonard Sapir
IGN: Lukas Nemec I learned you should try to pick your fights, no sense in just dying to your hard counter. Know the ships, when to engage and when to retreat. But anyways it can be fun to just whelp few ships for fun and learning.

PVP in EVE is not easy but can be very fun. You need to decide if you want solo, small gang, or large fleet style of PVP. Then decide where you want to PVP, Hi, LOW, or NULL. Faction Warfare provides lots of single or small gang combat and can be done cheaply in HI or LOW sec but you will lose ships. Regardless I would not PVP as a way to make money when starting out, its a bragging rights type of thing with maybe some loot if you live long enough to collect it. Whatever you decide to do, research first so you can build a decent ship and know the mechanics that are relavent to that style of PVP. o7
