Roommates and drummers alike are raving about Evans‘s new dB One Low Volume cymbals and drumheads! Sweetwater’s Nick D‘Virgilio walks us through this new series and explains how the dB One can cut volume by up to 80% for practice at polite levels that won‘t raise any noise complaints. Sure, others have taken a stab at reduced volume kits in the past, but dB One does all that while still capturing the feel, bounce, and sound of real cymbals and drumheads for a satisfying playing experience. Check it out!

FINALLY a practice product that actually sounds good and has a well thought out design.
I'm not a drummer and I still find these things fascinating, especially the cymbals

That intro was all the info I needed!
I love these drum heads. I’m probably the first person in my country to own these thanks to Sweetwater. 🤘🏽❤️
Thank you Sweetwater for this great lesson
What an amazing product line!
This is awesome! Could have used this back in my college days especially
Picked up after testing them at South Shore Music. Phenomenal, and I am sure the neighbors think the same!
Great design! Next level technology and sound!
Love the hats and the snare head!
Great video Nick! Thank you!
Pretty cool mesh snare head
I've been playing bass for over 15years and drums have always been an envy of mine. Maybe someday...

Same, I've played drums for 20 years and always wanted to learn the bass. I keep looking at basses for beginners, don't have a clue what to get

These *definitely* have my attention.
At 6:41 you can hear how loud they really are
I need these
I’d love to try these heads out, maybe I will for my toms, but my practice kit is a compact with 12” SD and 16” BD and Evans aren’t making dB One snare and kick heads in those sizes. Compact kits are pretty popular for home practice which is what these heads are designed for. I hope Evans will rethink the sizes they offer. Maybe @Sweetwater could have a whisper in their ear?
Will these be out on demo at SW? Makes me want to consider selling my electric kit and going acoustic now
I'm not sure what to get a roland vad706 or a roland td50kv2 what do you guys think?
Would the quiet db’s work on a set of ROTO Toms? Thanks
How would this sound with the Yamaha EAD10?
What drum kit are you playing? That finish looks sweet
adding my db1 heads and cymbals to my mapex armory kit, the hit hat is not fully closing with my foot on the pedal. is this a problem anybody has experienced?
This pack or RTOMs + L80's?
Good Demo! But I'm concerned about a mesh head stretched over bearing edges . Can anyone confirm these are okay ? thanks

Hey, Andrew. Thanks so much for your interest. Good question. These are ok. They will not damage the edges nor will the edge damage the head. Thanks again and Happy Holidays! Jason Thiele, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1391, jason_thiele@sweetwater.com
The regular mesh heads recommend round bead drumstick tips. These too?

Hey, U.P. dan. Thanks for your interest. On these it doesn’t really matter. Thanks again. Jason Thiele, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1391, jason_thiele@sweetwater.com
Is there a particular resonant head you’d recommend for low volume drum heads (that still keeps the tone of the drum)?

Hey, dumpster_mcgee_96. The thinner, the better. I’d go either with Evans Reso 7, or Remo Ambassador Diplomat. I hope this helps. Jason Thiele, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1391, jason_thiele@sweetwater.com
Are this mesh heads louder than typical mesh heads like the remo silent stroke?

Hey, Name. Thanks so much for interest. They are about the same in volume. I hope this helps. Jason Thiele, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1391, jason_thiele@sweetwater.com
can I please get a list of the HHX used?

They might be the Anthology line designed by Jojo Mayer

That's pretty damn cool. If these heads could also act as electronic triggers, it'd take market share away from the electronic kits. There are no inexpensive electronic kits that look like real drums. I guess you could probably use external triggers with these.

its super easy to do that you just need to put a piezo pickup on the bottom
I've been using a Yamaha DTX 720K kit for the past few years in my home studio. They're great ... for electronic drums ... but at the end of the day it's just not the same as playing real drums. I recently traded them for a set of mapex saturn evolution shells (thanks for that review too!) but I live in an apartment and now I can't play! My neighbors are great but I just can't make too much noise. I think I'll really have to look into these so I can actually play my kit at home!
Anyone else hear the production volume change at 6:44min? Makes me wonder of the adjustment a that may have been done on the actually volume of these.?. 🤔

Good ear.
Are these ideal for a church setting or would they require some mics?
@sweetwater
Жыл бұрын
Hello, Jon! These aren’t really the best option for live performance in general as they are just so quiet. You could mic them, but they will not have the same tonality as traditional bronze cymbals. If you are looking for a set that is a little more forgiving on the ears that can be used live, I recommend looking into the Sabian FRX cymbals: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FRX5003--sabian-frx-performance-cymbal-set Thanks for the interest! @@sweetwater thanks Cody! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I came home from my wisdom teeth being drilled out on the 18th and the new set and cymbals were on the front porch. Pretty nice thing to come home to! My new heads came shortly after you got them ordered for me. In the middle of getting them on the kit. Thank you so much. I believe these low vol. cymbals are going to do just fine live in church. It's not a very big sanctuary, so I think it'll be ok. What the return policy on cymbals, should I find they aren't cutting it and need to exchange for traditional cymbals?
Man this guy is such a mean player. So so so good.
💙👊😎
I wish Evans would make white versions of these heads! Just so they'd look more similar to my usual setup 😅

Hey, Ken. It sure does. Definitely a good source for you to practice where noise is an issue. Hope this helps. Jason Thiele, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1391, jason_thiele@sweetwater.com
I have the db one bass drum head. It’s really loud. Not impressed.

I agree. Clicky sound, sounds terrible and the snare is too loud also. Why the added plastic? Not low-volume at all. Can't use them at night when family is sleeping.
