This girl is a legend

I was once in love with a very lost soul. I felt it was my calling, my destiny, to be a nest of safety. To be a way of light to this person who had grown up surrounded by so much darkness. Who could only see the rest of the world through the lens of his unhealed hurt. Back then, I would have given my soul to save him because I thought that’s what loving someone meant.. In return, he introduced me to hell.. and I nearly lost that same soul that I would have traded for his. It was not love, it was trauma But I came across this song. Through many of my own tears I finally gain the strength to walk away as I realized He did not need saving, it was me. He did not need my light, it was me. I thank Amy Lee for putting into words the way my soul mourned to walk away from someone you cared for but could not save- Because it gave me the power back to save myself❤️

Similar situation here, I mourned and cried a lot through this song. Its a bitter lesson to learn, that you cannot be somebodies calling, destiny or safe nest. This can only be done by the other person, you can be some support of course, but you cannot heal or take away the hurt. This is not what love is for. If theres too much darkness, your love will drag you down into the other ones hell.

I wish you the best and i hug you really hard. I daughter are suffering a tumor and she is fighting since 2020. I can't do nothing and that broke me in pieces. I really don't know how much time she can be here with us, i try to be strong and colse to her everyday, every time, kiss her, hug her, trying to be a good father and person, but at some point that ia not enogh for me. This nightmare is real and really unfair for her. I pray a lot...hope someday god do the miracle and she can be finally cure. For now all is love here, but fear and pain too, uncertainty is slowly killing us.

@@nmjr547 You are right Nicole. Amy Lee has always been underrated and it's sad she hasn't really earned the recognition in the music industry that she really deserves. When "Bring me to Life" was used in the Daredevil film I really thought Evanescence would catch fire and she would become a global sensation but it never really happened. Amy is a star and always will be because she has stayed true to who she is and her music hasn't changed. I've been a fan of hers for 10 years and can't wait to see what she does next.

For my daughter who left this world too early. My heart broke 11/3/2017. 😢

Yoona Hwang That's OK Yoona Hwang that you don't like this song. I've listened to many male & female singer's in my time. I will venture to say that not many rock, country, or any other styles of music. Can say they have reached super star status as Evanescence. Timeless She can sing her ass off. Not fake it like most groups try to do.

Oh my gosh. What a beautiful thing to say. My son was murdered 12-10-17. Then on 4-22-23. My fiancee and I were driving home. A drunk driver hit us head on. Killed my fiancee on the scene, I was air flighted and almost didn't make it. The SOB that hit us had a sprained ankle. They are still looking for him. Yes my heart is broken. I sometimes wish I wasn't here.

I felt empty and lost. It seemed hopeless and never ending and I thought I'll be like this forever, until I've found Evanescence. Your music caresses my pitiful soul

She has a way of bringing the tears when they otherwise refuse to fall. She has a way with pulling out the emotions so they don’t tear me apart from within. My heart IS broken. I feel so bad for anyone who has to deal with a mental disorder. I just want to tell all of you out there who do suffer as I do , you are NOT alone, you’re never alone! I love you all so much and together we can get through this. We can make it! While the whole world doesn’t understand I’m here to tell you that I DO!! I’ve had addictions and I’ve been through total and utter hell, and I love every last one of you out there, but still I feel alone sometimes, even though I know I’m not the only one who goes through these disorders. I wish there was a way I could help people like me, I wish there was a way I could advocate , but I don’t really know where to start? For me, it runs in my family, and NO it is NOT a curse like these religious zealots out here put it out to be, it’s a true chemical imbalance!! They should know better!! Just hang in there my dear friends, just hang in there, don’t give up whatever you do!!! Love you all!!

Thank you , Aimee , for what you said . That is really beautiful . I don't have a mental disorder or addictions , but , I love a man who has them . I love him with all of my heart and my soul . He has to be away for a while , while he goes through a program for alcohol addiction , but , I love him so much . I will love him forever , cherish him , and treasure him , always . I will wait for him . I love him forever , I will not leave him , or give up on him . Real love doesn't give up and doesn't quit . My sweetheart is an alcoholic , an unbeliever , in fact , he says he is an atheist , but , he isn't really , and he is homeless , and has a mental illness . I am a Christian . I have always liked a lot of different types of music , and music has always been a very big part of my life , since I was 4 or 5 years old . It's part of me . I have always enjoyed singing . In fact , a lot of people , including my sweetheart , says that I sound a lot like Amy Lee and Adele . I sing on Fridays , and I've been doing this regularly for almost 2 1/2 years . It's very rewarding . It brings enjoyment to myself and others . And I'm glad . Watching videos and listening to the music that me and my sweetheart both like , keeps me close to him , that , and looking at the 2 photos of him that I have , every day . I keep them in a book , that's called , "Thank You , My Love". He is My Love , and my sweetheart . We have a very deep and special connection with each other . I can't even count how many times that I would be thinking about my sweetheart , and then , the phone would ring , like 10 or 15 minutes later , and it would be him , and I knew it was him , right away , even before I saw his phone number !! I sense when he is going to call me . It is absolutely amazing . I will never forget what it is like to be cuddling in this beautiful man's arms . It's like God gave me the ability to see the beauty in the very deepest part of his heart . My sweetheart knows that he has a very sweet , romantic , loving , and passionate Christian woman who loves him very deeply , and always will . We have a few differences , but , we have many more things in common , despite that . I've told him that I'm thankful to God for him , every day . He believes me , because it's true . I know that he senses the very deep and beautiful love that I have for him . I know that me and him , my sweetheart , My Love , will be able to endure this difficult time of not being able to be with each other , physically , because of this deep and powerful emotional and mental connection that we have together . It is very real , very deep and powerful , and we will flourish and thrive , because God is for us , not against us . God is pleased with this relationship that we have together . He sees the sincerity in our hearts . I will enjoy writing love letters to the man that I love , and sending him a few more photos of me . I've given him many love letters and photos of me , already , even when we were seeing each other all the time . God knew what He was doing . He said that He was preparing me for this separation , physically . We won't be separated from each other in our hearts , though . We will never be separated in that way . That gives me hope and encouragement to be able to carry on , because Jesus is my Strength , and my everything . This is the song that really speaks to my heart . I love my sweetheart , My Love , so much , and he loves me , too . We both miss each other a lot . I am so thankful that I have this CD , now . I got it last week . It's great !!! I love it . This is my favorite song on it . For me , this song is beautiful , passionate , and painful , all at the same time , because , I love my sweetheart so much . When you are really and truly deeply in love , it's not just a deep physical ache in the deepest part of your heart , but , in the very deepest part of your soul , and who you really are inside yourself . To be completely and fully , deeply in love with someone is very powerful , and overwhelming , beautiful , and amazing , passionate and painful , all at the same time . This love that I have for my sweetheart is keeping me strong , and making me stronger all the time . Yesterday , I found a beautiful card for him , when he is able to receive letters , I will give it to him . It says , "Love", in red letters , with a red heart , and it says , "Love", in many different languages . Inside the card , it says , "You are everything wonderful to me". It's perfect . It is what truly is in my heart for him . It's like he is the other half of my heart . I want to feel his heartbeat next to my own . I sing with great passion , too . It's who I am . I get many comments from others who say that they enjoy the passion that I sing with . I can't sing any other way . I enjoy romantic songs , too . I am a true romantic , and a rock chick at the same time . My sweetheart likes the newest Batman movies , too , with Christian Bale and Katie Holmes . I watched "Batman Begins", just a few days ago . It was great !!! When Bruce Wayne and Rachel were kissing , I was thinking , "Yes , that's me and my sweetheart , right there". He is such a joy and a delight to me . I'm glad that I could be encouraging and inspiring . It is such a beautiful gift to be able to express myself in writing and singing . I have joy and pain in my heart , but , I have hope , too . I love my sweetheart so much , and I miss him so much . I'm so thankful for him , and for music . I sing my heart out , because I sing with everything that is within me . I can't hold back anything . Some people ask me why do I waste my time with this guy ? It is because I love him with all of my heart and all of my soul , and my sweetheart is more than worthy to be loved and cherished and treasured . I love him completely and fully . I really do . He cries , because , no woman has ever really loved him , before me . I am eagerly waiting for his next letter to me . In the meantime , I enjoy music like Evanescence , Korn , Alice in Chains , Audioslave , etc. , and thinking of my sweetheart . I've been watching some really cool concerts , right here on KZread , lately , of the first 3 bands I just mentioned . Oh wow !!!! They are great !!! I told my sweetheart that when he gets out of rehabilitation , he and I will make our own new dreams , together . I want to spend the rest of my life with this beautiful man .

I talked to a good friend of mine, he had someone doctor knowledgeable at his side, who talked to me. The guy said the "sacrifice complex" is very common. I felt better after talking to him.

I was in year 11 when this song came out. I was so happy, but confused as to why they wrapped up so quickly, they only released 2 music videos, I waited so long for a real music video of lost in paradise. Such memories will stay, and the vibe of that era was amazing

You can actually feel the pain in her voice. Effective and beautiful.

Lost my dog of nearly nine years yesterday and as dumb as it sounds, listening to this eases the pain.

I lost my beloved Tyson, a pitbull, three weeks ago, he was still young with 7 years and despite the dog's race he was so friendly. i still can't look a picture of him without feeling an awkward sensation in my chest.

I need to come here from time to time to feed the lovely darkness in me.

now after ten years i can say i can partly answer....a broken heart never heals the way it was,it will never be the same...i mean how can it? the pain just dulls, it's still there with layers of other stuff ontop of it.

I absolutely love this song because of themeaning. The meaning is actually supposed represent of when Amy, her husband, and a good friends of theirs went to help rape and human trafficking victims. Amy and her husband were absolutely disgusted by what some people do, so she thought of what do they go through. And bam here is this majestical song.

This is the perfect grief song, I resonate fully with every part of it. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone and that amazingly talented people like Amy Lee can express the way I feel inside better than I ever could. Amy Lee - thank you so much for not being afraid to express your pain in an elegant way! It's so easy to feel despair and alone and this has been my favorite song lately, as I'm trying to pick up the broken pieces and build up my will to live gain. 10 years after this video was released it is still so relevant for many of us who are struggling with loss and despair. "Chained to this fear that I will never find a way to heal my soul" So true and so comforting and yet so sad at the same time. It feels so right crying while listening to this song.

I think this is the best song and video for Amy Lee, maybe not for Evanescence but for Amy Lee just, amazing perfomance here.

Ready for a new Evanescence album of all original material. It's been 8 years!
