Same technique he used on Mike Tyson. He reads the opponent's moves and always has a ready counter. The opponent seems surprised because they know they hit him hard, but there's a stronger counter hitting them back. Genius.

Even me both of them I’m the fun.. but about Tyson when he faced holy he wasnt ready physically mentally coz Holy was at his prime Tyson was out of the game for three yrs( jailed)came out fought only seven rounds total b4 holy.. we could see a good fight if was b4 that my opinion

I'm afraid Evander was much further from his prime than Tyson when they fought. It was just Holyfield was still that much superior to Tyson, he would have hammered Mike no matter when they would have fought.

wrong, holyfield was an insane inside fighter. One of the best ever. crazy in fight game.

Mercer looked like he skipped out on a lot of his training camp for this fight. Holyfield always seemed to come prepared by contrast. Mercer had so much potential, but sometimes showed up flabby and out of shape.

Yea even when the slomo was showing all of Mercers punches missing or being blocked and Holyfields landing flush. Holyfield dominated the slugging exchanges.

Holyfield is in my top 5 ever. I also am a fan of Mercer, he was tough as old boots and had big power in his hands.

Underrated fight, i think Mercer's performance in the final rounds and the knockdown were what caused his loss. Although, i think it should've been a draw.

I believe Ray would've won this fight had he did some wicked work to Holyfield body with big body shots. Fighters don't realize how important that is and it should start in round 1. He didn't do it. MIKE TYSON made the same mistake against Holyfield and lost. MIKE Tyson corner men kept telling him but he didn't listen and it cost him the fight.
