2 genetic freaks in what wound up being a goodnfight.......foreman with just str8 man strength, shoving evander back woth his forearms...and a granite chin as he ttok some shots, And evander jist built like a statue and always in shape always fought hisnheart out....evander is still overlooked by people condidering he fought everybody no matter what period of time he was in....from cruiser to heavy weight never ducked anybody and never failed to give fans there money worth......these old fights, late.80s thru the 90s bring back great memories as my old man such a huge boxing fan, these heavyweight fighrs inevitably wound up with my pops telling me how awesome tocky marciano and dugar ray robinso were in there day......feeling old haha

Real Deal said there wasn't a single man he couldn't push back, even Lennox Lewis...except George. "I had to go around him". Good God George was scary, I can't believe Holyfield stood in there w/him at 208lbs.

The judge Cindy Barton that TVKO used for this fight as unofficial scorer went on to lose her career in disgrace after scoring Mayweather v Alvarez for Canelo amid bribe allegations. She is permanently barred from ever judging another fight in Nevada and was even fired from her job as an exercise physiologist in Vegas.

When I look at this fight, and the Cooney fight, I think George waited a little too long to start fighting top competition in his comeback - he was devastating and not slow like people thought. Of course he was slow compared to Holyfield, but he was fast enough to land plenty of punches vs. the best fighter in the world at that point. The Cooney fight he was even faster, he was way better IMO at his peak in the 2nd go round.

i never seen a fighter so disrespected as Holyfield. He wins and wins and wins but it is always about how he wins and how he would have done if it was Tyson he was fighting. Wins count folks and when he did fight Tyson he beat him twice

I take you guys have never watched any of tyson full fights and just highlights. Tyson always head butted threw elbows. Ko after the bell. Hitting on the break constantly. Shoulder locks. Biting. And you’re complaining about Holyfield being a cheater and think he’s the only guy and not tyson to use peds

Holyfield won here and all that but they weren't public executions like Mike's fights were. Also, this doesn't look like peak holyfield at least body wise, when he fought Mike the transformation was drastic.

That punch at 1:24:39 from George didn't look like much, but as you can see Evander was holding on for the most of the round after it. That was the right hand that George hit him with that Holyfield went back to his corner and asked if his teeth were still in his mouth.

Evander wouldn't admit for a number of years that George hurt him more than anyone in his career, probably because he knew he might fight him again, & didn't want George to have a mental edge.

@@theangryconstitutionalist583 Yep. He acted like he was fine in the immediate post-fight. That punch caught Holy flush, and he was out on his feet a la Moorer before the 2nd and final punch. Holyfield had one of the best poker faces of all time, refused to show them he was hurt. But I've never seen him throw a punch as weak as the right hand he tried fending off George with after the ref broke up the holding.

Is there a man alive or dead that other than George that would've stayed on his feet the way George did after Holy unloaded midway through the 7th round? Sharp hooks to the body and head by one of the deadliest left hooks in the history of the sport.
