Lyrics
Underneath your dreamlit eyes
Shades of sleep have driven you away.
The moon is pale outside
And you are far from here.
Breathing shifts your careless head
Untroubled by the chaos of our lives.
Another day - another night
Has taken you again my dear.
And you know that I'm gonna be the one
Who'll be there
When you need someone to depend upon
When tomorrow comes...
When tomorrow comes...
Wait till tomorrow comes - yea yea...
Wait till tomorrow comes - yea yea...
Last night while you were
Lying in my arms
And I was wondering where you were
You know you looked just like a baby
Fast asleep in this dangerous world.
Every star was shining brightly
Just like a million years before.
And we were feeling very small
Underneath the universe.
And you know that I'm gonna be the one
Who'll be there when you need
Someone to depend upon
When tomorrow comes...
When tomorrow comes...

Having lived as a young person in the 80's, with the good and the bad, I'm still grateful I lived those years. Even the pain and loss was worth it, and still today the music sustains me in a fundamental way. Having adored The Eurythmics then, I have rediscovered them again, and hearing great music with fresh ears I appreciate it in a totally new way. The lyrics to this song especially are heartfelt and beautiful, and the music hooks you in deep. God Bless Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart for their contribution to the soundtrack of our lives. ❤🔥
Absolutely love this song! Makes me feel so nostalgic for the 80’s. Best times ❤️❤️

My favourite Eurythmics song. Only recently realised that it features Clem Burke - drummer with Blondie. If anyone isn’t familiar with his work, check out Dreaming by Blondie for some top drumming.
Loved the eurythmics and this song. It takes me right back sometimes I wish I could go see them times again and maybe do some things differently. Long live the eighties.
It makes me sometimes cry how people don't listen to the lyrics...
Just a few days ago, me and mum sat having munchies in a coffee shop... late breakfast. I heard this over the in store music PA and I could not sit still.... I'm trying to listen to mum and this at the same time.... mum noticed and asked wtf is wrong.. "nothing, I'm just loving this" with every hair on me standing up in awe. That was the best lunch ever. Annie, Dave I wish you and everyone else in your families and beyond all the very best for the future
Nobody sang like Annie Lennox back in the day. Certainly, nobody sings like her now. One of a kind voice, one of a kind class, one of a kind lady.

No auto-tune, but multiple takes, multi-tracking, compression, reverb, noise-gates, limiters etc etc. All would have been considered "cheating" by the early pioneers of recording. In the 1980s my grandad would talk about how the 1980s records were "cheating". He thought the music was awful and the performers utterly devoid of talent. My dad pretty much thought the same.

I miss the 80's and that time of disco clubs, that carefreeness, cheerfulness, joy, dancing and laughter. The weight of the war left traces on my heart and soul, that's why I listen to the music of the 80's and return to a better and happier world, as if the sun warmed me and returned memories that make the day more beautiful and less sad and painful. Thank God that I lived the best young years in the 80's, a decade when there was so much good music that unfortunately will never happen again. We who were young at that time are happy people, 80's forever.

It's timeless! I bought their Greatest Hits CD, I was in high school. CDs weren't widespread so I had a wired converter tape to run it through my Jeep's tape deck and used velcro straps to hold my Sony Walkman CD player to the center armrest. My favorite memories were listening to Eurythmics while driving home from school at 70 mph. Those Cherokee 6 cylinders were NO slouches as they had 200 hp, more than enough to move over 3,000 lbs.

What do you believe "auto-tune" to be? Do you have any idea about the tricks involved in recording music in the 1980s? All the engineering/mixing techniques that were used in recording studios? Multi-tracking was once considered "cheating" and splicing between different takes on physical tape. Heck the recording process has been one big cheat since the beginning!
