I watched the national final with my grandparents that year. Before the performances even started all participants were standing next to each other, when my grandpa drops the comment "this guy will win" as the camera passed Michael. :)

2018 was the best Eurovision ever!! So many -many wonderful songs worthed the 1st place.. Every Eurovision has some songs that became famous and remained as successful songs, but 2018 was one song best from the other !! Unforgettable Song Contest !!!

Eurovision should be held every year in Portugal, for me it was the best Eurovision I've seen in my life, and I was lucky to see it live, which was a dream, and all countries had fantastic songs, it was a shame many have to stay out.

In musical terms, this one is one of the best by far. An average song of this year might had been a good one of another year

I am going to speak from the bottom of my heart. This is the best Eurovision Song Contest I have ever seen. All 43 songs are many of the best songs I have ever listened to. This contest has opened up my mind that there are more quality songs to listen. Even though I from Asia (Thailand), I can smell the unity of Europe to produce such a spectacular event. I would like to say "Thank You" to everyone for giving me a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Some songs made me happy. Some made me cry. Some made me dance overnight, but all made me proud. Thank you so much. I hope I can travel to Tel Aviv for ESC2019. Love from Thailand

Rewatching this today. 2018 was one of the Best Eurovisions ever. Amazing musical diversity and the lack of LED s was a smart choice because each act has amazing lightning work done which make it super dynamic. Seeing the rehearsals from 2021 and we all see the same safe stuff from everybody 🤷‍♂️

they were not my cup of tea...but i totally recognize their value and their intention to bring some world music from Portuguese-speaking countries. Its was something different

2018 is still one of my favourite years of Eurovision. Almost every act was good....

You Let Me Walk Alone was the last good song from Germany for the Eurovision Song Contest, sehr schade.

@@anonymleo2816 Die deutschen Songs in den letzten Jahren waren halt größtenteils kompletter Müll, das hat wenig mit Politik zu tun. Man sieht ja an Lena oder Michael Schulte, dass, wenn man actually singen kann, auch gut abschneidet.

Yes agreed. But I agree with not giving the stage invader more time but also because it makes Eurovision look bad. Clever editing with the green room parts as well in between to make it look more natural.. this was a great year with lots of great songs 🥰

Honestly, out of your candidates only Estonia had a chance of winning. Maybe Bulgaria but it wasn't my favorite at all.

@@luuk19_ Ukraine is always in the final just because there is a huge diaspora in Europe and they vote for their own country. At the first semi the last ticket for the final I was 100% sure that was gonna be Ukraine.

I came back to this Eurovision because i feel that this graphics with the songs are way better than the peoples favorites led panels. Everything feels more intimate and natural. I just saw the Michael Schulte performance and it was beautiful! I also remember Lithuania's one

I like how it forces creativity, with the LED it makes it to where the staging doesn’t have to be as interesting but stages like this make props stand more out

This is why it took this so long to upload because the Surie part was edited. censored again to look perfect. Anyway its one of the best Eurovision its full of character, I love how Portugal integrated their culture and identity, and stage can be awesome without the distracting and visually loaded LED ! - from your biggest fan in the Philippines watching since Dusseldorf live at 3am.
