I totally agreed!

Notice how a lot of juries actually did give high marks to Finland and they placed 4th with them overall? People act like the juries gave Finland 0, they rated them based on the merit they thought the song had. And clearly they thought Sweden, Israel and Italy were all more artistic and deserving entires. Plus, they don’t all collectively agree who to place on top, it’s just a lot of countries ended up giving Sweden the top marks and that gave them a big lead. There’s no conspiracy here like people act like.

There's actually guidelines for jury voting. "Juries are asked to focus their vote on 4 main sets of criteria: Vocal capacity of the artist(s) Performance on stage Composition and originality of the song Overall impression of the act" Also Sweden received points from every jury in the competition (except Sweden, duh) Finland got points from 22 out of 36 eligible Juries and 11 of them gave Finland above 7 points. What I'm most salty about is Sweden getting 12 points from 15 Juries while Spain got points from 21 out of 36 juries and the best they got was a 10 from Portugal and an 8 from Latvia. Especially after you look at the criteria for voting.

Overall the comparison with Finland's and Italy's song is very similiar, as both in local language, but as I understand both languages, I gotta say the Finnish song had a better story in the lyrics compared to that of Italy's, and overall rest of the Italian song without the lyrics was extremely boring and not great, so it's weird why people would even like the song if they wouldn't understand the lyrics of it.

@@samsevwn5802 Okay, now I understand why people seem to be mad that Spain was scored so low. If you tell me the jury criteria, I fully get it. Paloma's vocal capacity is good. Her performance is mysterious and captivating. The song is very original. Overall impression might be what the jury didn't fully buy. (Sort of like my thoughts about the act overall......I think she's very talented, but I just didn't LOVE it, like some others. c'est la vie)

This is true, a lot of the jurors individually didn't rank Sweden 1st, but the country still ended up giving them 12 points because on average they were higher than every other country on their list.

Blanca Paloma didn't recieve any 12 points 😭 She deserved so much more!!

She was my personal winner, I thought she will win and it was clearly for me by miles. She had a unique fantastic song to win. But for another time the contest goes where Sweden wants. They organise the contest or the Germans every year, the host country choose who. But every year they choose the Swedish team.

I think the juries thought that Belgium’s song was catchy. And I kinda agree. And one thing that was weird. The odds showed that Australia would be in a low place after the juries. Which I literally don’t understand because that song was good.

What do the numbers mean?

Sweden didn't deserve to win, Loreen wasn't even surprised or excited. It's really frustrating. I'm not the biggest fan of Finland, but the reaction of the people in the arena, the results of televoting, made it clear who should win. They wanted so hard to give Sweden a seventh victory and make Loreen a two-time winner. I'm so tired of this... It's no longer Eurovision, it's swedish party...
