@@heliusag5420 I mean, you're right, but at the same time a lot of ethnic Hungarians were detached from the mainland (Mainly Uplands, now Slovakia and Transylvania in Romania) in the treaty and are living now abroad. Personally, me as a Hungarian do not think that those territories should be Hungarian once more, I just want them to have autonomy. Hungarians living abroad face a lot of hardship every day including not having the right to speak Hungarian or have ethnic schools. And the government does this not the people. I don't have any hatred towards Romanian or Slovak people, their government is at fault. In the end I think history shows us the mistakes what we shouldn't make in the future.

@@FANTAZSYREV I can only speak for Romania and not Slovakia but from what I know is that there are schools that hungarians go to and learn in Hungarian. Most hungarians in Transylvania speak Hungarian and some even do so that Romanians don't understand them. There are those who are polite with Romanians and Romanians have no problems with them but with those that seem to hate all Romanians with no reason. There are also Romanians that hate all hungarians but the majority of us are not like that. Also if there would be autonomy then it would go south real quick because there are also ethnic Romanians, Germans, and other minorities and if hungarians would control the region the power would just shift to another ethnic group and lead to more instability in the years leading after that. Also in Romania we have given hungarians a seat in the government by allowing them to have a party supporting their causes. In hungary we have ethnic Romanians that were persecuted as well and there are no schools in hungary that teach in Romanian. Those Romanians also don't have a party to support them and their causes.

the Spanish Empire was way bigger in 1790 than the Iberian union was in 1580 since they had barely conquered the other half of South America,but Spain still possesed the european colonies, the Spanish Empire in 1790 colonized their part and also colonized California, Louisiana (at that time Louisiana was referring to half of USA) and Florida.

That's exactly my point. The largest of France was under Napoléon empire and then even larger during the 2nd colonial empire that started in 1830. Point is, they didn't show neither of them in this video, which I think is dumb if your point is showing countries at their largest ! I believe they also got the Brits wrong in the video, as their largest clearly wasn't 1921 ("strangely", same date as France lol, clear lack of research)

They ruled the Holy Roman Empire as emporers, the Austrian crownlands, the netherlands (wich also include belgium, luxembourg and northeast parts of france at that time), burgund, the spanish crownlands and the spanish colonies, and through the iberian union they also ruled over portugal and whose colonies too. Charles V. or Charles I. in Spain, was a Emporer who ruled over a Empire were the sun, never goes down.

@CipiRipi00 Of course it was the same Habsburgs. The father of Charles V was Philip of Austria, the son of Emperor Maximilian von Habsburg. Charles's mother was Joan of Aragon and Castile from the House of Trastmara. So the Spanish Habsburgs are just a sideline to the Austrians. Because of the line of his father, Charles was the first Habsburg on the Spanish throne, because the male line of the Spanish house of Trastmara had died out. You're right, most of the time the Spanish and Austrian lines were ruled separately. But under Charles V, both empires were ruled together under the rule of one man. Karl was an archduke, king and emperor. Yes, you are right, the colonial empire was only being expanded, but it was still not that “uncontrolled”, because the colonial empire also reached a golden era under the Habsburgs. And that doesn't change the fact that they ruled a great empire, does it? It was under the Bourbons when Spain lost its colonies

In general, I would not count HRE among Habsburgs. I would rather count the HRE as a federally independent state. With regard to spain, I would even count it among the Habsburgs for a short time, although there were hardly any colonies but just because it had no colonies there were short times when one person ruled over both empires.

Так разве не Россия прямой наследник Руси (латинское название с тех времен Russia, и греческое звучало как Росия)? Было единое государство, которое представляло множество княжеств и распалось, после чего снова произошло его объединение под началом Москвы в единое русское государство и в дальнейшем Россию. Украина же сформировалась на территориях древней Руси как обособленное государство, то что столица Руси была в Киеве не делает ее древней Украиной.

We had Greenland Iceland, parts of Sweden, big parts of Scotland, manyyyy Scottish islands and some others islands just search it up. Norway at its largest. But since you counted the Kalmar Union as Denmark at it biggest. Technically that would be Norway and Sweden at it biggest too since that was an UNION

Yes, kind of weird that "North Macedonia" is represented by Alexander's Empire, while Greece gets the Byzantines. Greeks represent both of these ancient empires. The North Macedons are slavs who came to that area only 1400 years ago, c. 1000 years after Alexander.

@@thesenate9564 but where north Macedonia is today was NOT the original ancient Macedonia. It was a place that Alexander occupied. The original state of Macedonia, where he started from, is in Greece in west Macedonia. His father was born and died there, Alexander was born and grew up there. So even as a territory you have it wrong. It is like you say queen Elizabeth is Indian because united kingdom occupied India . Does it make sense to you?

Estonia was bigger before ww2 than nowadays. They had region of Petseri and Ivangorod which were later transferred to the RSFSR.
