Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of VW Taigo 2022 - Update

The VW Taigo is a partner model to Polo and their structure is practically identical. Euro NCAP compared both vehicles to verify that the VW Polo results can be applied to Taigo and performed additional tests where necessary. The footage includes video of the VW Polo 2022 and additional Taigo 2022 tests.
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

Hitting someone isn’t a big problem, it is how much force you hit it with. Dummy’s must of been really low

I believe the systems are usually designed to be slightly conservative in when they deploy because there is still a (very small) risk of injury from the airbag itself and also the possibility of needing to deploy them slightly later in the same accident (clip a barrier on the highway and then get hit on the side by the car behind you), but it definitely varies based on the automaker- also some automakers have side airbags that stay inflated substantially longer (a few full seconds instead of a fraction of a second) to provide protection in a rollover accident- so their calculus on when to deploy would be slightly different.
It is so unrelated to put polo in the test even though they have the same platform this car is more heavier and higher. Euroncap should take the job seriously we trust you!

Abysmal results for the AEB and Safety Assist.
Ngl your test suite can't hold a candle to IHS. Sorry.
50 to 50 km/h is not enough. Cars hit each other with 90+ km. I'm expecting tests with higher speeds from EURONCAP.

Yeah, I've expeted them to increase it to 72 km/h or so. Because it was 64 km/h. But instead they decreased it to 50 km/h, although now it is a mobile barier not fixed. And since it is the same barrier for all cars (no matter how light or heavy) it is a more fair test. Because a fixed barrier simulated crash into the car of the same weight and speed, while with thw mobile one the weight is not the same between them. So lighter cars will have harder time, while heavier will have it easier. But then they get penalised for doing more damage to the barrier...

It’s a little too less but in real life if you do 100km/h and see a car coming in front of you, you hit the brakes so you don’t do 100kph when the cars crash

Sayın euro ncap yetkilileri bundan sonradaki kaza testlerinde 100 km / h yapmanız en kısa zaman istiyorum..............
WTF drives with 50km an hour ? Not even in the city, many times I can see drivers speeding at 100km /hour at least....50km is irrelevant, 60 km an hour or 80 is more relevant, plus this tiny suv is small as s it and expensive as s t, 22000 euros for entry level automatic transmission ?
