He was defensive before, but he's taken a dark turn beyond even catanaccio. They are mostly unwatchable. Who else would even use Thuram who looks as if he will never score a goal except from the spot. Maybe he doesn't trust his defense.

And it absolutely worked like gold It just happened to be Bergwijn's first match since February (!). He picked up some pains. Yeah plus there we did the tactical switch. With Depay dropping to make the box and Maalen staying forward. Where as against Turkey we stayed the same formation just juggled the players around. With Depay going 10 and Simons right wing and making the box just like Bergwijn.

I'm an England apologist so I think they'll go through, but their final performance really depends on who goes through in France vs. Spain. If France go through, then I genuinely think it's a battle of luck and moments FC. If Spain go through (which I think is the most likely), then we might as well just skip the game and say congratulations to the tapas terrorists because that team is going to run through the English defense.

Spain vs Netherlands was also a rematch of 2014 World Cup. Spanish fans might be remember about this encounter for wrong reason. The day tiki-taka was dead (1-5).

I’m not even going to attempt to make any predictions anymore. I’m just going to enjoy the ride.

With how these Euros are going, the final is going to be England vs France with both teams winning through penalties. Both games would be 1-1 with England equalizing late and France getting an own goal.

Hope Netherlands 🦁 will win. NL was playing beautiful football in the past and with exception of 1988 never won. I see now a team that is resilient after playing to win. No total football but result football. I guess that is the reality of nowadays tournament football. What do you think?

Bergwijn wasn't substituted because he was playing badly, but because of issues with his fitness. I would argue that he actually has played fairly well, especially against Romania. He is good at playing more narrow and allowing Drumfries to get high and wide on the pitch.

I fear that you might be right about the Netherlands. They're definitely trending in the right direction and I think they might have enough about them/England don't have enough to get the job done. I think we're trending upward as well (very small sample size) but the floor was so low that I'm not sure it will be enough. Hopefully a really good penalty shoot-out win can give them an emotional and psychological boost.

So hard to predict any games when Saka is still in the mix, I'm a Dutch fan, but man Starboy can turn a game around single handedly, out of nowhere. Guy is so fun to watch.

I don't know if I would say great, but it was not performance-related. Malan did put in a good shift as his replacement. But, Weghorst utterly changed the game, even preventing a goal with his goal mouth clearance.

I hope for England, every time, but...the most likely outcome is Spain on top when it's all said and done.

They and Germany have been the two best teams from the start, but sadly, met too early. The Netherlands have been interesting to watch, but not sure they could cope with the skill that Spain possesses. England could beat the Dutch, but they would either have to improve and have some more good fortune. They did manage to edge a good Swiss side, but the Netherlands have shown real quality and versatility in the past two games.

It's too bad France doesn't have a veteran centre forward who has scored , say 57 goals for Les Bleus. Someone who could also hold up the ball. But no, let's stay with Muani and Thuram who are God-awful as strikers. Perhaps that corresponds with Deschamp's goal of winning the tournament without scoring from open play. England has lower probability of reaching the final, even Spain being the opponent of France. I saw the way the English played. Their group was easy, their play highly disorganized, defense has too many holes. They are lucky they're not on the other side of the bracket of the semis.

I think this story is not really breaking international news. but the reason Weghorst gets subbed in after half-time is because that is when he is most effective. He does not have the stamina to play a full match at the pace he does in the end of a match. Furthermore he pumps himself up during the match and then explodes onto the pitch. This is part of the reason why he is so effective in the late parts of each match. And the reason Koeman does not start him.

Picked on only vvd in the entire Dutch side for that one mistake he made in the entire tournament. Why am I not surprised?

Netherlands Spain is the match we all want. The match the fans need. England - France would be antifootball and a tragedy to the sport, but that can very well happen. Im spanish, i want my team to go all the way and see what happens in the final but i dont trust France not even for a moment.

Finally someone who predicts the Netherlands. As a Dutch person I'm surprised how many people predict England considering how they played.
