Brake buster doesn't even touch the dust on my M2. I wanted to love it because it doesn't stink, but it just can't remove heavy brake dust without a lot of agitation and if I'm doing that much, CarPro Reset does almost as well.

Best to use an iron dissolving cleaner for heavy brake dust like our Wheel Cleaner+ ;)

Awesome test! I have found myself doing a similar test when comparing the various products I have in my garage as well. Here is my words of wisdom... "When it turns brown, you know it's GOING DOWN!" One other thing I have found is that when you use a very aggressive APC, the use or hype of Iron Remover becomes irrelevant when cleaning wheels. 👀

Love the videos. Two solid wheel and tire cleaners. I saw Matt Moreman test a lower PH brake buster and it appeared to also have a little more bite compared to the normal brake buster formula. Keep the clips coming. #ForTheCulture

Great video comparison Eddie! Thanks for the video. I would love to see videos on Owner's Pride Eco Wash comparison to DIY. There's not a lot of videos I could find on OP Eco Wash and why people aren't talking more about it.. also would love to see if wheel and tire combo cleaners like these two are hype vs APC's like DIY All Clean. Appreciate you for helping us save our hard earned money.

Been trying a lot of ethos stuff and been impressed and the scents are amazing..got total wheel and tire cleaner and the wheel + cleaner coming tomorrow….i don’t like the fact that Total isn’t recommended to dilute…I know Jamie diluted it 1:1 which is what I’m probably gonna try

Bro use either way I use it straight cause I’m a bougie but 1:1 works I wouldn’t cut more then that negates cleaning power

If performance is about the same, and price isn't too much of an issue, then you always gotta support the littler fish. Keep up the good work Ethos. 👍

Regular user of Brake Buster but it's time to break out and try some others and Ethos is a perfect candidate. I am with you though because I love diluting Brake Buster 10:1 in my IK Foam sprayer for that foam & lather party that I've become spoiled with. Not sure I could ever go back to spraying out of a bottle unless I need extra bite on tire cleaning. How are those RT45s treating you? I am running those on my daily driver but I haven't fully got to test them out since we haven't seen much snow up here in Eastern Washington this winter.

I love this all in one cleaner…I would love to see how ethos acts out of a foam cannon instead of those foamers…product is clearly too thick for that…now yes it’ll get diluted but BB cleans just fine at 100% or 50% in the foam cannon…I’m guessing the ethos will as well…the culture would love to see this.

There are people on KZread that use Brake Buster out of foam canons all the time. You would get roughly a 10:1 diluted product out of it. It will gum up your foam canon over time though. I would suggest dedicating a cheaper or old foam canon to it.

I didn’t dilute it - was testing straight and foam on straight I’ll check to see if it can but it’s like brakebuster recommend to use straight

Eddie if you were using these in an ik foam pro 12 and put a gallon of water in, how many ounces of the product would you put in?

I like brakebuster better because of the additives it offers. Price is cheaper and I think it’s way too close to say which one is better. It’s spitting hairs.

Ah there not close total wheel cleans better - and has the same additives but I get your point having something cleans “as good “ and spending 18 dollars more doesn’t make sense

Adam's cut 1:1 is a beast for tires. It's better than industrial purple power straight that i got from my work. The boat used to have 55 gallon barrels of purple power. Its very strong and nasty - the engine-room used it all the time.

if you want to do a great cost value comparison then do it vs Turtle Wax hyper foam wheel and tire cleaner. I don't think you can dilute it but for $30 a gallon its cheaper than both. Also in using hyper foam I can do max 2 passes on super dirty wheels and tires vs 4 passes with brake buster. I'd rather use a stronger chemical and less effort to get the job done faster.

Two different products here, Adams will definitely be stronger but too strong for many wheel finishes. Sometimes you don't need a sledgehammer when a scalpel will do. Total is designed for consistent maintenance and cleaning on ANY wheel finish.

@@Ecdetails yup. I prefer these types of cleaners over the regular use of iron removing wheel cleaners to agitate the wheels. I pre-treat the wheel with kc mwc and rinse to remove the bulk of brake dust then clean with the all in one. If it’s a sensitive surface I reach for brake buster as it’s safe on all wheels.

Are you gonna be testing Adams products soon? Need a full breakdown in the lab 👍🏻
