Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 777 Business Class: Addis Ababa to Cape Town trip report
Join me on this Ethiopian Airlines Business Class flight onboard a Boeing 777-300ER from Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa to my favorite city in the world, Cape Town in South Africa. Ethiopian Airlines is the largest airline of Africa. The clip was recorded prior to the COVID19 pandemic.

I love Ethiopian Airlines. I flew from Atlanta to Newark to Lome 'in April and it was the best service ever. I will fly them again when going to Lome' to see my family.
Ethiopian airlines is the best airliner in Africa. I like flying with Ethiopian. I took from Jeddah, Cairo, Khartoum, and from Addis to Ouagadougou, and Maputo. I like the lovely and friendly of the ET crew, Ethiopian music and food. ET's early morning arrivals to Bole is an amazing tradition. We, Sudanese, like Ethiopia and Ethiopians very much, and they return the same feeling and even more to Sudanese. Kubranana Kubrat!!!

Yeah they are it's because Ethiopia people are so friendly when you go to Ethiopia you will notice that hospitality, warm welcoming. ..
Ethiopia should be very proud of their airline. Starting up right after the war, what an achievement. Ethiopian traditional food is awesome, some of the tastiest I've ever had. I'd go there just for the food. 😂

Bad airline, unless you upgrade to business class you will have a horrible economy experience. Baggage get lost, items stolen and missed flights because if their 37 layover. I don't care about Skylight Hotel when I just want to be home with my family in Cape Town

I was in Addis Ababa in 1984 and what a experience and l went out to nearby countryside what a difference now with the new airport and changes with growth. Ethiopian airlines is wonderful. It's 8 hours flying to London l remember. But l must remember Addis Ababa is high altitude l got sick in 1984, l should have rested plus change of environment affected me.

I flew this same route as you last year, on my way to South Africa to go on my dream safari vacation. Absolutely loved my experience with this airline!! I'm used to North America-based carriers and felt so spoiled by not only the excellent service from the crew, but by being in a class of seat higher than economy for the first time. I'm hoping to intern abroad in Cape Town next summer, so I plan on saving to take Ethiopian business class again!

Grace Jegels Hi Grace! I’m looking at internships at HIV/AIDS clinics, through the CIS Abroad program for college students for next summer. I’m in nursing school here in the USA and going during our summer is really my only option so that it doesn’t interfere with my classes and clinicals. But we are planning for a graduation trip to SA when I finish my board exams the following year, so I hope it will be during the summer season there 😊
wonderful video as always, although I'm Ethiopian my favorite video is the video that you made on Singapore airlines first class. It was the best ever. By the way I would like to invite you to Ethiopia on 19th January 2021. In this day there is a holiday called "Epiphany" that is celebrated in an amazing ceremony. I'm sure that you won't regret by coming and I hope Ethiopia will be your favorite country afterwards. If you need any help don't hesitate to ask.Thank you!

Great video thank you for sharing! I flew ET's 777 in biz from Delhi to Addis (then Lalibela and Axum) and then Addis to IAD and hands down the most spacious biz class seat with the old configuration. I had no problems with regards to the flying experience, now Addis Airport is a different question, it was a like a madhouse and the domestic terminal is rundown. That being said, the people were kind and the overall wonderful, what a great lifetime experience. The one thing that was tough was that no one wanted to take credit cards, even if there was a sign saying the did, not even the smaller hotels in the capital and the smaller cities.

Your flight to Cape Town was great. The airline was very polite. My family and I loved visiting the wineries there and table top mountain. Your views of the mountains and the beaches are also beautiful. Thank you for sharing and bring back wonderful memories. I’m ready for the next virtual trip.😃
I flew Ethiopian Airways in 1963.,I was in the US Army and was stationed in Asmara Eritrea then federated with Ethiopia. The plane was a Boeing 720B. We flew from Idlewild now JFK airport to Paris, then Rome by TWA on a Boeing 707. In Rome transferred to Ethiopian Airrline Boeing 720B to Athen the Cairo. We had a layover of 7 fantastic days in Cairo. Then from Cairo to Asmara. The airport in Asmara is on a mountain top with a short runway. The US Army had a base called Kagnew Station. Kagnew Station was an intelligence base run by the Signal Corps, CIA, NSA. The absolute most incredible duty assignment. TWA was responsible for providing the crews under contract. Latter I took a flight to Axum on a C-46 Ethiopian Civilian Airlines. Ethiopia has come a long way to being self reliant! Remember during the 60’s The Emperor wanting to become indigenous self reliant airline. TWA started training ground crews and complete overhaul facilities! Then the military started training pilots in the US and I believe France. It’s great to see how they have flourished. It’s just WOW.
Have flown with ET in January 2020 just before Covid started. FRA-ADD-CPT return. Excellent service on all four flights. In my opinion definitely Africa's greatest airline. If they offer local Ethiopian dishes on the menu, You have to try them.
i am so homesick now, seeing beautiful camps bay, thank you for showing me that, it has been awhile since ive seen my beautiful country.

We had a very short layover and no time for a lounge visit 😉
Judging by the 2 - 3 - 2 layout (similar to Emirates) they assumed it would be couples using the window seats and a group of 3 travelling together in the middle. They didn’t think it would be lots of solo travellers although I quite like the look of the seats
I heard that their service is one of the best as far as African Airlines go. 0:44 is this your Wife & two sweet kids? I did not know that Ethiopian Airlines was the 4th largest airline in the world based on countries served..WOW!! the seating & legroom is a lot, I also like the red colour seats. The amenity kit 9:12 I didn't like too much. I am glad the food served 11:32 was a taste of the local food in Ethiopia, to me that's important.
