There is zero information that one or multiple kingdoms even existed during this time, no name (since there are no records), nothing, all we have is pottery and basic artifacts, nothing resembling kingdom administration like writings, coins, or the like. Most could as well just have been simple settlements of a handful of people.

Neighboring countries did have some influence to Korea, but Korean nation was actually one of the most independent nation of all time. Before the kingdom of Joseon, most Korean monarchs were called emperors in the record and some countries payed tribute to Korea, the rulers of Joseon mostly seek peace based on Confucian ideology so they tried to stay well with most other countries. When Korea gave tribute to China, China gave a lot more rewards in return, so according to "조선왕조실록" the record of Joseon monarchy, the king sent too much tribute in a year so the Chinese restricted the number of sending tribute. Manchuria and Mongolia also invaded Korea, but again, Korea was nominally a vassal state of them, but they didn't really interfere much on the ruling of the country and that applied to most East Asian countries like Vietnam and Japan when they were invaded by foreign country. In my opinion, this video is actually one of the best video so far about Korean history made by a non-Korean. A lot of other videos about the Korean history have biased Chinese/Japanese and colonial sources where it focuses mostly on foreign invasions of Korea. As seen through that Korean kingdoms mostly lasted more than 5 centuries the country historically was rather peaceful than most of European countries. In fact, Korea has more successful repels of the invasion that is not widely known like the siege of Yodong where Koreans repelled one of the biggest armies in number before ww2. (A Mongol general once said Korea is the country where people resisted the most and fought) But in this video I can see that a lot of research was done to make this video. Lastly, Thank you for making the history of Korea.

Goguryeo had a strong "dictator" Yeongaesomun, so when he died, his sons had inheritance issues, which split Goguryeo and weakened it. Goguryeo, Silla, and Baekjae are origins of Korea's rich culture such as Kimchi, Hanbok, and Gat. Goguryeo had a heating system called "Ondol", which is only distinctly used in Korean culture. This proves that Korean culture is deep rooted from Goguryeo and other ancient countries :)) Balhae succeeded Goguryeo. Btw thanks for covering Korea
