Hi do u wait for the etch primer to dry than apply 2k and do u sand 1k before applying 2k over

Yes wait for it to dry,if you top coat with in 24 hours no sand or scuff needed.

the world is behind sealing the bare metal with epoxy primer- etch primer they say is recommended more on aluminium, i dont know what sort of controversy that is but 99.99 percent professional painters are sealing the metal with epoxy- is there a specific reason you use etch primer on this bare metal (was that aluminium)

It is the way I was taught to do it. I've got some 30-year-old paint jobs that are holding up well with this method. I also used acrylic enamel paint when the whole world is using base coat clear coat. I guess I'm just old school lol
