About 3 months after getting Mirena I started having debilitating panic attacks and anxiety. I didn’t connect the dots at first but their was literally no other change or trigger. I just had it out 3 weeks ago and hope to get better❤️
Thank you so much for this video, I have both and am overwhelmed and just not doing well with my health so this video was a great start. God bless you!
Thank you for this video!! So many questions answered. I’m not on birth control but have very heavy periods, anemia, severe depression before periods, feeling weak and crappy and anxious constantly. I had a feeling a hormonal imbalance may have been the cause of my symptoms but had no idea where to look. My doc just suggested me going on the pill but I’ve been hesitant. Thanks for this info! Wish I lived in your area as I’ve been seriously considering seeing a naturopath.
We love your work Dr. Talia Marcheggiani - thank you for the online help from us women in South Africa x
Literally emailed your article to a friend this morning 👍👍👍👍
Wow- adrenal fatigue causes progesterone deficiency?? I've never learned that before. Thanks for the info!
Lady I think you just saved my life. I’m sorry happy I found your channel.
This was so informative and helpful. Thank you for making
🙂 Great Video 👍👍👍
I’m a 45F who had the mirena fitted 3 months ago to manage my heavy fibroid periods. The mirena progestin hormones definitely go into the bloodstream. I felt the difference from day 1. My anxiety is non existent these days and I suffer with CPTSD. I do have non alcoholic fatty liver and high cortisol and the cortisol caused me to have a stroke. The mirena has calmed me down, cleared away my cystic acne, reduced my periods and I’m hoping helps me rebuild some iron. I was losing up to 1 litre per month. I now hope to clear my liver and lose the weight. I’m removing xeno estrogens and will hopefully shrink my fibroid. Then I can get the coil out. My only other option is a hysterectomy. Which still leaves me with estrogen dominance. So that’s the root cause that needs addressing. Can a woman fix her hormones whilst being on the mirena?

Yes, I think so, because as you mentioned you can still work on liver (to help clear estrogen), gut health (again, to clear estrogen) and adrenals (to calm and regulate cortisol) whether or not you're on the Mirena! Sounds like you're on a great healing path!
Thank you!,!,

Aw thank you, Marianne! I can't see patients 1:1 outside of Ontario, but I am running a program that starts tomorrow! taliand.com/good-mood-learn there might be some time to get in it still!
This is so informative! What are birth control options that you can recommend that have less effects on hormones?
Does the kyleena iud effect hormones in the same way as the mirena? Does is effecy estrogen dominance?
I have horrible cramps for days and I’m on the mirena:/ can that be the cause? I also wake up a lot at night!
What if I have the mirena iud but I’m also taking progesterone gummies sublingually? Will that balance out?

It's hard to say. You'd need to talk that over with your healthcare provider and do some testing. I haven't ever seen progesterone gummies!
Does this video also apply to perimenopausal women? Could the oral contraceptive pill be exceptionally useful for this category of women?

Oral contraceptives essentially override your body's natural hormones so it depends what they're used for. Regulating hormones? Not so much. peri-menopausal hormonal regulation has a lot to do with smoothing the very natural hormonal transition that happens when our periods stop. Hope that answers your question!
Does the copper iud affect hormones as well? I know it doesn’t release any hormones but I don’t understand if adding copper to our body could change some kind of “balance”..

Arianna Locatello Yes it does. I got rid if mine after year. Scary symptoms. Everyone different, but I mean I felt great up until the last 2 months on it. Not recommended.
