In the three years since I posted that video, I've done much rolling practice. It's been the hardest part of canoeing for me. But I now have a solid combat roll.
1:52 how does that much water spew out of a side-hole? Does this boat have some kind of electric bailing pump?

He either has electric pump (I saw some of my canoe friends use them), or he just very skillful that the water don't come in too much in the boat. I also don't get too much water in my boat, but I sometimes have to go to the shore to dump the water haha.

I had two electric bilge pumps installed in this boat, at the time. Both were activated by the same switch. The artificial whitewater course at Penrith has only a few places where paddlers can easily empty their OC.
