I did a 200km expedition in northern Canada in an esquif and was very impressed! I felt like it was built like a tank, yet light and had good handling in different situations. I eventually bought a presage in 2015 (one of the last royalexes). I’m in the market for a second one (kids are grown) and I won’t look anywhere else than esquif.

@No Lives Matter most of the models are very stable. I have a miramichi and its the most stable canoe you will ever buy. The prospectors are stable as well. They move a little but they are not tippy. The pocket canyon is the other one I own and its very playful. I wouldn't say that it is tippy but its not as rock solid as some of the other canoes in their lineup. hope this helps.

Im looking seriously at a mallard 12 footer for backwater beaver ponds here in northeastern ontario.Probably the nicest, smallest, hunting canoe ive seen. The quality of build looks very good.

My 585km trip through ontario used only esquif boats. We broke a few yokes and thwarts but they were dead simple to repair with some paracord and glue and lasted us through the rest of our whitewater portions of the trip.

I am an owner of an esquif canoe. Love it. The t-formex is amazing. Way better than the old royalex stuff used in the past. Love mine and looking to get a rangeley now for the cottage.

Please expand on why you believe it is better than royalex. Genuinely curious, not challenging your POV, as I'm considering an Esquif. Thanks.

@@johnbmadwis they are indestructible. Not as heavy as fiberglass and poly. But not as light as kevlar and carbon fiber. The fit and finish on their canoes is as good as any of the real expensive ones ie swift and nova craft. Not saying anything bad about other manufacturers of canoes I just really love the esquif brand in general. They have great customer service and are easy to talk to. Of course this is all from my experience owning and dealing with them. Just ordered another canoe from them yesterday. There are good and bad with all things you have to find the little nitch that your like. Look at them all. Some amazing canoe manufacturers out there. If you can test a couple and see how you like them. I have owned kevlar and wood etc. I like the t-formax. Its heavier than kevlar my 16 for prospector they advertise I think at 65 pounds mine is 57 but still way heavier than that size in kevlar or carbon. But I can bang mine off of a rock in the river and not bat an eye or even worry about the damage.
