    Don't know if the former members have initiated anything. We have a saying in German, "Where there's no plaintiff, there's no judge." I only found a single report by one paper and a handful larger newspapers reporting about that report. Seems like they're still under the radar and will continue to do so

    @@LeiCal69 Have you ever imagined what it would be like without any laws? Take a look at a country like Somalia to get an idea. I am currently in the process of leaving a self-help program with many cult-like qualities. I've spent a number of years being gaslit into thinking if I leave, my life will fall apart. The hardest part has been genuine friendships with people in the program who will continue to buy into it, my personal relations are very entangled with them and the prospect of beginning a new life and building friendships outside is difficult. Kira I really appreciate this video, seeing a true cult that's way more extreme than what I've been involved in has helped temper my anger.

    @@minitureoc9333 I did a mutual friend of ours who isn't in one. But he cut of ties with him too. That what a cult is, it demand absolutely loyalty. Worst part is he is the one that started it in the first place. He's lost his mind and unlike this video. He is the victim of his own madness, quit his job, abandoned his home, health, fiance and everything. Its also growing which doesn't help him, since he surrounds himself with others who are also batshit crazy. I even tried his parents and couldn't get thought. Infact I do any more and they will retaliate and come after me which I don't care but I will needlessly bring trouble on myself for now result. So I just stopped. I used to think this shit is funny. Until it happened to me. And watching him burn himself up I know better than to bring popcorn. Can't even believe it's a thing that isn't just in movies, but can happen to anyone these days. Its also do bizzare you talk to him and it's about angles and demons and warfare and other crap. There's no reasoning with him. He's also said he's died physically and retured back due to a bad heart and still refuses treatment for it. Says some spiritual entity brought him back to his body and gave him a mission. Now he calls himself king, found some queen and even has knights and a whole round table. Lives off the funding of some rich people too. Probably everyone taking advantage of his insanity and worth thing is they will soon take advantage of innocents. The whole thing is loony. Nothing else to describe it. All you can do it stay far far away from it and hope people aren't stupid enough to join the cause but people always are. I'm still baffled they have some 15 members already, I was told they reserved a seat. Hearing that I knew it was high time to run away. Not even for all the money in the world will I do it. Because I have seen first hand it destroying him, you can sure get money or raise an army, get followed whatever you call it. But being in one will absolutely destory. Only reason somepeople get into it is to take advantage of others like this video. Otherwise you are victim or crazy. That's about it.

    I live in Florida near the main headquarters for the Church of Scientology. Those are some freaky people. It's not the members that you have to be weary of, it's the security teams that follow high ranking members, or those that are in the process of joining who aren't super famous, but are on their way. These guys train at expensive ranges, take advanced classes in protection work, take sharpshooter/sniper classes, and are taught guerilla warfare techniques. Word gets around among the shooting community who these guys are and what they do. They are the absolute devout. The lowly recruits are harmless and usually nice, albeit weird. The security and high level people are the dangerous cult leaders

    cults go after people with deeply rooted unresolved issues. people who are depressed or desperate are easy targets for example. sometimes the people who are often too happy are the ones who have more internal issues to resolve and put out a funny and happy exterior to hide their issues and pain. robin williams is a great example. he was always happy and had great energy, but was going through things no one else saw. the woman you know might have been similar at the time, found the cult, they saw through it and exploited her weakness. glad she made it out.

    You'll laugh but I once left a martial arts club because it was showing weird cult-like behavior that led to robbing their loyal members to give them all their money. Just to buy their club's drinks and clothes and expensive courses to advance in the overall program. You weren't allowed to bring your own water/drink into the training hall - you had to buy their drinks or else you'd have to leave the room and drink alone in the locker rooms (which I did), not knowing when the training would continue. You also weren't allowed to wear your own training clothes but had to buy their stuff (because they wanted us all to "look united). No matter how long you've been in the club, you would only ever learn the next, higher-up fighting techniques if you took part in a weekend-long, super expensive course, that also included meeting their master. Speaking of which, at the beginning of each session we had to group up in front of a photo of said master and bow our heads to him (which I never did because why would I). They preyed on simple-minded people who relied on tight group structures and communal support. When I said that I'll end the contract, the team leader sat me down for a 1:1 talk, which was kinda arranged like a police hearing. Well, I stood my ground and got out but BOY this was a weird experience.

These days more and more public funding are going to waste on these idiots instead of covering the physical and mental healthcare for hard-working men and women who actually risk their limbs and lives contributing something to the society. Thanks to this cult recruiting idiots online and make them do stupid stuff so it's a little easier for healthy people of society to identify these idiots and avoid them in the future. It's crazy to see this saga get wider attention the past couple years. It was such a constant on certain corners of Facebook circa 2016 - 2019. If you were in these circles you would frequently get multiple paragraph long DMs from members asking for donations, very similar to the copypasta post at 19:39. It became a bit of a running joke that you weren't a "real artist" unless you had been solicited by a daylife army member. In the end it was all just very sad, seeing some ppl I knew/met get sucked down the rabbit hole in real time, destroy their lives, friendships, and potential careers. Considering Koa's siblings both being prominent in music, another odd connection is D'jesus' dad is the former ceo and current chairman of the ayn rand institute, which doesn't reflect his personal views as far as I know, as they are very much estranged, but is still kind of a funny link.

    Many of the cult leaders though kind of get sucked into the loop themselves. They don't start off with bad intentions and some genuinely just want to be with others like them and nothing more. However as they gain power and as they keep being encouraged by their followers and rewarded for extreme and crazy things it goes further and further. Lying to yourself and others also just becomes part of the routine and if you repeat a lie often enough you will start to believe it no matter how absurd it seemed at first. A cult very often is a viscous cycle of followers and leaders egging each other on and things just spiraling out of control.

How awfully convenient. I just don't buy it for a second. Victim roles are reserved for the ones being abused, not the ones that are doing the abusing. @@MrYelly I'm not saying it to get them sympathy, I'm just trying to dispel the idea they are some kind of evil genius. They are just as unhinged as their followers and they also aren't really in control of it. Sure they give the instructions but they are forced by soft powers to do a very narrow set of things. They like to feel the cult is under their control but in reality it isn't really. Jonestown actually is the perfect example of what I mean. Jim Jones kind of got sucked into the whole cult himself. He wasn't any more sane or in control than anyone else was. Cults are not like the financial scams also featured on the channel. Those are done very deliberately by crafty people. Cults aren't that structured or controlled. Nobody is really in control of a cult.

  • @MrMarinus18

    @MrMarinus18

    Жыл бұрын

    @@MrYelly Understanding why things happen is not the same as justifying them. Many cult leaders especially the infamous Jim Jones were abused, humiliated and neglected growing up. This is what set them up to be as evil as they were cause it made their self-worth extremely low. Low self-worth can very easily shoot into arrogance when they are given the vindication and approval they crave. Many cult leaders also grew up very lonely which was even more true for Jim Jones which caused him to try to bind his followers to him as strongly as possible. You shouldn't think Cult leaders are some anonymous villain. They are people too. The main reason what makes them turn so evil is the unchecked intoxicating power they have. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and the more isolated a cult becomes the more the cult leader feels empowered and the more insane they become. If you take a closer look at the regulations for priests you can see almost all of them are made to avoid exactly this. With Christianity for example it is stressed extremely heavily that priests only convey the word of god, they are not divine themselves.

  • @MrYelly

    @MrYelly

    Жыл бұрын

    @@MrMarinus18 I truely think you got it the other way around. Only cultists would ever believe their leader to be more than human, that argument doesn't have to be made here. The insanity of a cult revolves around the inherent insanity of their leader. This is not just subjective bias, but how american state and law handles such topics, as due to this psychological nature of cults. (One receiving the benefits and calling the shots) Charles Manson never killed anyone, directly or personally. But his influence indirectly caused the deaths of 9 people, for which he originally got sentenced to death, but later reverted to a lifetime in prison. In any other context, this would have been not-done. But such is the nature of cults. Many of the followers of Jonestown did not want to go along with the very last act, yet they were forced to, on command of their leader. That included children. 909 lives, just gone. When sweet promises no longer work, their hand turns to manipulation and totalitarian abuse. If you happen to declare yourself a god-like being of divine degree and exert this delusion over weak-willed or vulnerable individuals, it is a far step away from diminishing any of that personal responsibility, as if you were just there along the crowd. In your world view, Hitler would just have been another legally elected politician. And that is just a few tads too simple if you ask me.

Red flags imo are anyone who has a high social media presence, mentions mentoring, expresses a desire to collaborate with you, tries to stroke your ego, or looks like they themselves are a clout chaser. People will play the part of “I do it for the love” but yet can’t or won’t do it unless anyone is watching. I don’t want to be part of any group or association of any kind. I go do what I do just to be, live in the now, and don’t try to document it for show and tell. I have no desire to be famous. Not caring about what anyone thinks is the place for me. There is a reason it’s harder to be a lone wolf than ever and it’s because we’re surrounded with this nonsense. I believe the age of the influencer has peaked long ago and all that’s left is a bunch of stragglers clamoring to manufacture their “discovery.” Just go BE and tune out the noise.

    Thanks for sharing Kira, this video reminds me to some crazy cults we had in our country years ago. One had cult leader who thinks he's God's messenger and his dreams were messages from God, there's one cult in which they thought they'd ascend to heavens (which they didn't obviously) but the worst one is Sunda Empire who claims that all countries in the world in under their empire. Ugh!

    Thank you for the great video, as always. So many parents today are unknowingly setting their kids up for cult vultures. If your children are grown and you're not allowing them to make their own decisions, then how do you think they'll do when these scumbags start cozying up to them?

    I used to be a member of the cult called "The Twelve Tribes". They are a communal messianic high-control group. When I joined, I was a social cripple. Aspergers and a very poor upbringing had me in a state where I could barely have normal relationships with people. Because of that, I took away as much or more than I gave to them in the 8-odd years I was with them. However, for more well-adjusted people, it was a consistent losing proposition. I don't hate the TT. I actually miss the lifestyle. They live (cooking, cleaning, shopping) and earn money communally, with responsible individuals being delegated to handle those tasks. What made me leave was their smothering control over every aspect of my life and their dogmatic views. They are not the sort of group that tries to make you stay if you don't want to be there, so there's always an open door with the caveat that you're probably going to hell if you leave, lol. Their lifestyle was very comfortable. Rise in the morning, sing and dance, go to what amounts to a church service, and then do your daily duties. Very simple and very rewarding (until you need your teeth fixed or require a special diet). If only they weren't so dogma-bound...

    My grandma lived two houses down from a twelve tribes house. She said she saw them beating children. My grandma is very stern and old fashioned herself so if she had a problem with them it meant bad news. When she died my aunt sold her old stone house to the cult. She probably rolled over in her grave and moaned. What disrespect to do that

    You're not alone - that kind of social, communal style of living has emotional benefits for a great many people. It's such a shame that it's so rare to see in Western societies outside of cults. I hope you can find somewhere similar which has a community lifestyle without being a cult. A friendly small town, or a cosy street community where everyone knows each other and looks out for each other may suit you well.

    I'm not a Earth 2 fan, but I don't think they're a cult. They don't try to get you to cut off contact with your family, they don't tell you what news sources you can and can't consume, they don't tell you how to dress, you're free to leave without them trying to beat you up or physically restrain you, they're not telling you that you can't communicate with outsiders and Shane isn't trying to get his female followers to sleep with him. Now, what is pretty nefarious with Earth 2 and the rest of the crypto space is that everyone who has invested, has a financial incentive to convince other people to buy in as well. I think this is a really nasty structure, because it does turn people into quasi-shills.

    You may be saying it as a joke, but crypto in general really has a lot of cult-like elements. Sure, they aren't as terrible as the cult in this video, and it's asinine to compare them to these kind of cults (which is why I assumed it was a joke), but they really are cult-like. They have a lot of incentives to both recruit new people to pour their money in and punish people trying to leave, so they end up generating a lot of the same cult-like behaviour than the more well-known cults. Folding ideas' video on NFTs puts it in technical terms as a "self-organizing high control group" and provides a couple more examples (like the good morning/good night thing).
