I was at a game centre when I went 8th grade. There was a trailer for a Diablo game - or maybe a new season or something that I can't remember - but it was on every commercial screen in that game centre. And this song was playing in the background inside, and it fit so perfectly with it. I can't stress this enough, it fit perfectly with this song. This yearning for being something else, in order to defeat your demons - corny yes but that's 8th grade nostalgia right there. Absolutely hilarious.

History lesson for all the new comers. Craig Mabbit was formerly from blessthefall. Ronnie radke was from escape the fate. Ronnie went to prison so there was no singer for escape the fate. Craig was kicked out of blessthefall and was left without a band. Escape the fates manager got a hold of Craig. Craig is clearly the new singer. Ronnies friends announced he had a new band while he was in prison known as From behind these walls. Ronnie was set free, got together with the band and changed the name to falling in reverse. You're welcome :)

+VibeRed$ Escape the fate back when it was created. Those were the days being called emo was cool, or at least normal when you dressed like that. It was fun to be emo. It was more a more popular genre and theme then, than it is now. Escape the fate in 2016, can be called whatever it wants to be. I have no idea. But escape the fate back in 2004 to at least 2010. Totally emo style ;). That part should be obvious due to appearance alone. Which is what Ronnie was still used to by the time he got out of prison. That's why he looked super alternative when "The drug in me is you" came out. As for the lyrics and music for escape the fate back then, including this song? It could be in a emo/scene/alternative kid/persons I-pod and no one would question it or disagree. I'm strictly speaking then though. I'm no longer apart of the high school environment since 2013. I'm sure the genre sounds more pop like now though, with what I was hearing by the end of my senior year.

Been a guitar teacher since 2007, I once played this song with a band of students and I just recently found it again. Never realized that we were living through such a special era in the late 2000s. As intense and cheesy (I mean it positively) as the 80s but in its own way.

11/3/2021 remembering my youth. I met Craig at two concerts, he was very sweet and very giggly LOL I'm still so 50/50 Ronnie and craig. 13 years later and they are so incredibly talented I can't choose a favorite, musically speaking.

Does anyone else notice how all the songs that Craig Mabbit sing are about love and all the songs Ronnie Radke sang was about one night stands and death?

Randomly remembered thing song & sang it out loud.. definitely doesn’t feel like it’s been 11 years! WOW! Love this song so much!!

Remember seeing this band in 2018 when I was 11, my first gig & definitely the best band to be my first gig. They were my favourite aswell at the time so my little 11 year old heart was full on the 21st January 2018. I’m now nearly 17 & have been to a total of 14 gigs! I’m yet to see ETF again, but they are such a feel-good band to me!
