Thanks for your series on the Epiphone series, Austin! I was about to buy the Dave Grohl DG-335, mostly for vanity & because I'm a huge fan of Grohl, but I've changed my mind after seeing your videos.

Keep them both. One matches your shirt, and the other one matches your pants.

I have a 2016 ES 339 Memphis - Its a complete "Jack of all trades" it can do everything from death metal to Jazz. Without the bulk of the 335 body. Keep the 339

I own a 339(9) which is a limited edition run Gibson made with a les paul 59' neck. I've played a lot of 335s as well. I find owning the 339 has been much better for me economically. It fits in the standard Mono bag, so I didn't have to buy one for a 335 and as I got busier and busier, I started buying dual cases (double electric and A electric/acoustic duo case). In both of these cases, the 339 can fit alongside my other guitar of choice. This would not have been the case had I of purchased a 335. In terms of tone, they are probably the same. Pros of the 335 - Hides the pizza belly better lol.

Keep the 335. Such an iconic look with the black on black, and that tone is nice!

I think it comes down to feel, especially the neck. Additionally, is either coil tapped for additionally versatility?

I have tried BOTH, i like the size of the 339 MUCH MORE.

I had my eyes closed and could tell when you changed guitars the first time. It was slight but the 335 sounded a bit warmer. I could not tell the second time. I had a Grote 335 copy. It was a great guitar but I did not like how big the bout was. I’m in the market for a 339 myself. Thanks for the comparison.

I'm in the same boat except with Gretsch. I got a big semi hollow electromatic and the Jr version. The Jr has low action and good access to the bottom of the neck. The big one has three pickups and more sound options. They're different enough that i can't choose but similar enough that i feel like i should. Hard to say who's copying who between the Eph335 and any number of Gretsch models. But George and John both played Gretsch first so.... GRETSCH RULES!

Tough call, honestly. I often gravitate towards 335s and semi hollow guitars in general and I tend towards them. I played a 339 not too long ago and I was impressed. I’d still go with a 335. If I want a guitar with the dimensions of the 339, there’s always the Les Paul. Both sounded great, though.

335 for my custom 7 string floyd rose chibson order then. Tone is clearly affected. Way deeper. Plus it looks bigger so it's like taming a beast.

Im leaning toward the 339 because of the body size personally

you need to rerecord this as I hear volume error
