It's a simple thing, but I love how Jesse varies and builds up the vocal melody in the chorus as the song progresses. First chrous (0:44): establish the melody. Second chorus (1:59): ooh okay, invert a couple of notes. Third chorus(3:51): let it soar!

not even 20 seconds into the song and I can already tell it's another banger. these guys just DON"T miss 🔥🔥🔥

From the brutal breakdown and harsh vocals to the angelic clean chorus to the intricate guitar riffs, ERRA is the band that has perfected their sound and it’s no doubt they are leading this genre 🤘🏼🎸

@@Sepiatroce979 agreed it sounds different. their producer for this upcoming record Dan Braunstein does a ton of vocal layering, different approach than what Erra typically has done so I think that’s part of it

Yeah, back to impulse/augment as usual. For newer listeners It's probably fine, but finding erra back in the day was so insane and it just ain't the same.

Alex Ballew's drumming has evolved so much from when I first saw him in 2011. Love it. My only thought was why Clint isn't shown more?

Listen to the band The Artificials. It's Alan Rigdon's band (former ERRA guitarist, from the first 2 albums).

Man, Alex Ballew is THE most underrated drummer in metal period. That part from 1:03 onward is so awesome. Very reminiscent of Jordan Mancino from As I Lay Dying. Equally technical and serving the song in the best way. I feel like every Erra song has at least one moment like that. Such an outstanding drummer. Also maybe I'm a dumb drummer, but this song is in a different tuning than most Erra songs, right?

ERRA will always be one of those top bands for me. Amazing to see their progression throughout the years but would love to see some more of their roots like influences from Augment & Impulse on the next album. I’m happy everyone digs all of the new releases! These guys 1000% deserve all the success they receive. Saw them live not long ago and they are phenomenal! Totally agree. I've mostly moved from core to technical melo-death but Erra is one of the few bands that I still love and appreciate. Every album is unique and is sort of a new chapter for the band and they always sound fresh but yet they retain and perfect a quality that is distinctly Erra. They're also much more musically sophisticated than most bands, each instrument is phenomenal yet they come together seamlessly. Jesse's cleans are just out of this world and getting better too. They're true artists and should be way bigger than they are.
