I never look at my dogs in the ring.. never have , never will .in this country . i am unique .. everyone does the opposite and i never have understood why everyone looks down and directs their dogs ..head up , believe in yourself i say .. love all you teach Greetings from over the pond
I'm glad he worked on the Tibetan Terrier's energy. I found my Clumber lacked enthusiasm and just strolled around the ring rather than stride. So I pick up my energy and enthusiasm to encourage her. The only thing I think he failed to do was to tell her to communicate with her dog. He himself was saying 'good, good' etc. But didn't tell her to do the same. Most other dogs you don't want to talk to and increase excitement or speed, but this is one of those different cases that require a different approach.
Referring the dogs chest to Dolly Parton was definitely a hilarious compliment and perfect reference to her💀🤣💀🤣
The moment the Cocker is baited with food. Nose off the floor! 👏
Thank you SO MUCH! Participating in a face-to-face Eric Salas workshop is the ultimate experience but this video is wonderful!! LOVE IT.

Denise What intro???
Can you recommend an awesome lure bait? I've tried commercial training treats, biscuits, hard treats, homeade liver which is quite slimy in my hand and just can't seem to find a good fit- needs to have strong enough smell to motivate a brachy snout and taste good enough to keep him interested. I am going to start going off you videos to try and prep for your Tampa class this fall- thanks

Want to join ur classes sir
if i'm left handed is it appropiate to present my dog on my right side? This is how I've traianed my dog and while I'm sure I can switch him over quickly... It would make my life significantly more difficult out of the show ring.

Train in both hands but your dog will need to be on your left side so you are not blocking the view of your judge.

I have a 4 mo Afghan puppy is he too young to do the gaiting exercises?
@EricSalasworkshops
Жыл бұрын
No
If you have a large breed that is extremely food motivated, because of the size their nose is level with the bait and is overly focused on that hand and trying to get the bait, do you just ignore the behavior until they figure out nibbling and jumping at your hand doesn't get them the bait?

This is an indication that you are training skills you and your dog are not ready for. You need foundation training to develop respect, trust and communication. Look for my video on foundation training or register for my live online workshops on my website www.k9-world.com
