ABOUT BECKET:
Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas.
After graduating from Austin College in Texas, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his
dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a
production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion
shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap,
L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man.
He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to
his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service.
After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his
life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality
was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count
everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences
helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally,
and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary
importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and
homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths
that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and
joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of
Arts in Theology.

foreword by Francis Chan, published by Thomas Nelson, released July 30, 2019.

I'm reading Eric's book Amazing Grace and I realized how humble he is. He is an excellent writer but when he speaks, he speaks plainly, which I really appreciate. I DISLIKE SNOTS! and Becket, I found out about you from an interview, you are a delightful human being, you're humble as well. In public, I can detect christians after talking to people, they have this humble aura. GOD BLESS ALL MY FELLOW BROS AND SISTERS!!

His recollection about Greeks’ preoccupation with “being” Greek resonated with me as a Black guy. Within the past few years that’s been the feeling among Blacks, outside of Christianity, Blacks see “being” Black as a full-time job that comes before everything else. I wish we could just focus on God and just exist as respectful and rational human beings w/o always reminding everyone about our blackness.
Love those moments of “ this is real” the Holy Spirit’s touch is always undeniable. Enjoyed this interview! Jesus IS real. ✝️❤️

Your story will be used to water the seeds of faith that God has already planted. Thank you for being faithful!
Eric and Becket, you were both integral in my recent return to faith in Christ. The Lord used you both so powerfully, I pray no get the chance to thank you in person some day, whether in this life or in future glory.
As I watched this episode I kept hearing this hymn - Fish out of water seems to fit. 1. Open my eyes that I may see Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me; Place in my hands the wonderful key That shall unclasp and set me free. Chorus Silently now I wait for Thee, Ready, my God, Thy will to see; Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit Divine! 2. Open my ears that I may hear Voices of truth Thou sendest clear; And while the wave notes fall on my ear, Everything false will disappear. 3. Thank you! 😄 It used to frustrate me that people are so messy and complex because I wanted to understand them. I wanted them to like me as much as I liked them & I thought if I could just understand them I might be able to know how to make that happen... Now I just love how messy & complex we are! It shows God's brilliance & attention to detail. It blows my mind that He knows us better than we know ourselves... makes me love Him with such awe & wonder! 💕

I so enjoyed listening and watching this interview Becket. It brought so many memories of my twenties; and Eric's prayer "God, if you are real show me" well, that too was my prayer... a few months after, God did reveal His realness to me. Can't. wait to read and enjoy Eric's new book.

Fascinating story ! I grew up in Baptist church, though now not in denomination. There was always Jesus all around me! U believe He meets ya where we are, and that is what your book says! God Bless you!

The power of God when Beckett knew at the time of conversion that he was going to be celibate. He was still young, and I love that this was an easy decision because of the love of Jesus. Also, Eric wrote that Bonhoefer book??? I'm impressed, I've seen that book everywhere and wanted to buy it.

Big Metaxas fan, well the brandy primarily. Now also a huge Becket Cook fan! Love to you brothers for this touching and entertaining interview. How the Lord keeps seeking us! Btw, Eric's biography of Luther is a must-read, as it's the most thoroughly researched and insightful one available. It has helped shed yet some more light on that fascinating but tragic period we call the Reformation. Brother Metaxas, along with many others, leads us to re-evaluate the Christian Faith in light of the unity of the body of Christ, which is the true Church. His ecumenical spirit marks him as a true man of God. Brothers and sisters, if I may subvert St. Paul here: "take note of those who help to heal divisions and remove obstacles from our path."
Bonhoeffer ..what a wonderful book. Gotta read all the others.
