Was so much fun being a Flyers fan during the Big E era. He was not only big and physical he was so skilled and fast for such a big man. He could score goals, he could set them up and his body checks were some of the best and most brutal ever. While there was a lot of drama he always made the game more exciting.

When he was on the ice, there was such anticipation to see what he'd do next. He was a force of nature. I listened to this speech and I'm glad he shouted out Flyers fans, because regardless of how it all played out, we loved how hard he played. I"m glad Homer made the effort to bring Eric back into the fold

He don’t need the cup , that was a show he put on , he’s healthy and wealthy , no players ever showed up to help thanks to Clarke and snider , snider was too busy profiting off his new stadium and the growth of hockey in other cities handing out cups in Dallas, Colorado and New Jersey by design in 90s ,,,,,completely fixed ,,,,so hockey would stick in those cities ,,,,everyone was so jealous of lindros and Crosby , that’s how it goes , eric has had the last laugh , he did it right !!!

what ? if you think targeting the other team , aiming to injure them so your team can out play them and win is just plain retarded , thats not talent, its moronic, and not hockey , if you want to honored for your skills at something, then do it honestly , attacking people and sending them to hospital is assault not hockey or any other game and to think they paid him for that , he should never had played the game , hes a bully loser

@@beatletoons6645 finally someone that actually knows what he’s talking about. This jerk tried his hardest to end innocent players careers. I really believe he was on steroids or there was something mentally wrong with him. I have a list of things that if he did on the street he’d do years in prison for. He sticked Nedved in his eye. He could’ve easily blinded him. He used all his weight when falling onto Luc Robitaille head as he had him in a headlock. He would scratch at opponents eyes during pile ups. He repeatedly used every dirty play in the book. There’s no doubt in my mind that every player in the league felt he deserved that hit from Sevens and the crowd and Penguins players reaction to Kaspers Knockout hit on him shows how everyone felt about this jerkoff. So glad his name never got on the cup. He’s a top shelf piece of garbage.

I've always wondered why Lindros get's such a hard time, especially from Philly fans ! I'm from the Bobby Clarke era and Lindros was twice the player Clarke was and without the snidey, stab you in the back attitude. That's why Clarke hated him. Lindros was clearly playing on and trying to function while suffering severe brain trauma. All the the Philadelphia Flyers could do was make him a scapegoat. What a team. The Broad St bullies continually live up their tag.

Eric Lindros is hockey version of Bobby Fischer. In the chess world Fischer came out of nowhere like a rocket, destroyed his opponants, and at his height, statistically proven, he was the most dominant (during that short time) chess player who ever played. Lindros was (at his height), the most dominant player whom ever played. However Fischer had head problems and quickly lost his career after hitting the pinacle of the game. Lindros had an achilles heal as well. He did not keep his head up at critical junctures. So his career was also cut short. These two men were shining stars in their respective disciplines, and among the best that ever flew through the sky. Too bad we were not able to see them flesh out longer careers.

@@That90sShow If you saw him on ice shift for shift, you would have seen his dominance. Mario was a game changer for sure during his prime, and arguably the most purely talented player to ever play. But Lindros was a genius in the power forward sense. Never seen before or after. (Mario of course after all is said and done was much the greater player). My comment was only regarding on shift for shift ice dominance of a player at his prime.

It was scary as shit and I never wanted to go back after that. I think I must of went to that camp about 4 years after Eric passed through. Eric, if you ever read this comment, tell Larry he owes all the young kids at his camps an apology for scaring the shit out of us - LOL!!!! I find it comical that there truly are morons out there and really are sheep. "He sat out so he's a spoiled baby"! No, he saw the Nordiques for exactly what it was a lemonade stand! They drafted Eric to use him as a crucial piece to sell the franchise because it was hemorrhaging money. Eric's dad was his agent. What better person than your own family to look out for your best interests. The overrated stigma Lindros is branded is also hilarious. Let's start off with overrated aspect. Well who gave Eric this larger than life persona that would be "the media". Like the fools on here calling him overrated are basing this on Lindros being "the next one". Usually the ones who have the most crap to talk are those who have little to no knowledge of the game. For those who do, know how much talent he had as a player. He made players around him great. Made teams focus entirely on him and left guys like Leclair, Renberg, Recchi, Fluery, and Bure open for business. His career compared to Neely, Bure and Forsberg are extremely close and are all in the HHOF. So whatever grudge you've little boys have had over the last 20 years it's time to grow up and let it go!!! Pavel Bure- Games 702 Goals. 437 Assists 342 Points. 779 Cam Neely- Games. 726 Goals. 395 Assists 299 Points. 694 Peter Forsberg Games 708 Goals. 249 Assists 636 Points. 885 Eric Lindros Games 760 Goals. 372 Assists 493 Points 865

I think that is the opposite of bad behaviour on his part, it shows he has a moral standard and values.

No way does he deserve this honor based on his Hockey Career. There are literally a hundred players over the years that accomplished more than he. Somehow whined his way in. Guess if it ain't broke , dont fix it.

@@RodCalidge I don't care how long you played. Maybe you're not that bright? Or bitter about something? It's factually inaccurate to say there are a hundred players more accomplished than Lindros. Do they all lead the league in scoring, play for Team Canada as a teenager, be the best player in the league for a 3 year period?

He literally changed the game of hockey for his and future generations. Nevermind that he has a career average of over a point a game during a terrible period on the sport's history when players could literally tackle one another and not get penalized; his physical style required the NHL to change the crease rules. He had every other GM chasing the next 6'4" power forward.
