Masterpiece. I've been playing for ten years and i can't get over how Clapton, and musicians like him, can make such beautiful songs, with so much feeling, out of the most simplest chord progressions. It's amazing.

Everyone can learn to play those chords, scales and learn the theory and with enough practice - the technique. What you can't learn is the feel and the groove. And that is what it is all about.

I can feel your body When I'm lying in bed There's too much confusion Going around through my head And it makes me so angry To know that the flame still burns Why can't I get over? When will I ever learn? Old love, leave me alone Old love, go on home I can see your face But I know that it's not real It's just an illusion Caused by how I used to feel And it makes me so angry To know that the flame will always burn I'll never get over I know now that I'll never learn Old love, leave me alone Old love, go on home

People say I talk too much about past loves. True or not there is one name I never mention. The person who stole my heart 30 years ago, the person I have never stopped loving, my soul mate. When they left my side they took half my body with them quite unluckily the part that held my heart. I have never seen hide nor hair of it again. I am so truly blessed to have loved so deeply and so fully but I have found love is not for the faint of heart. And so I wander along leading my life, unmarried, quietly, heartlessly trying to love again to no avail. Maybe one day I'll pay my penance and my heart will return but until then I dream of him and then wake alone seeking a heart that has long since disappeared

I know this because of a Lois and Clark song from that show. They play it when Lois and Clark are obsessing about each other in their thoughts

Thanks for posting this Michael20397! I had never heard this original version before, except when Cray and Clapton performed it live on Nightmusic. Anyways, this original HQ recording is beyond sweet!
