A lot of people are saying the original music fits the tone better, and while I agree that it worked VERY well, I do feel like this one is more appropriate than it seems. To me, this song is about regret. Hard choices, betrayal, wishing things could have gone differently. It plays when Ymir transforms for the first time, throwing away the life she had built for a chance to save the girl she loves. It plays when Reiner and Bertholdt are revealed, returning to Marley - despite everything it’s done to them - because they can’t conceive of anything else. This one also shares some parts of ‘Vogel im Käfig’ from the first season, which has its own aura of loss and regret: It plays over Carla’s death, giving up her own life so her children will have a chance. Eren’s first transformation, becoming the thing he hates more than anything. The deaths of Levi’s squad, which Eren sees as happening because he decided not to fight. What I’m saying is despite the tone, this doesn’t feel like a song of triumph. It feels like Eren’s final decision, coming back to the idea mentioned so often throughout Season 1, the idea Eren’s been fighting against the entire show: that to fight monsters, you have to become one yourself. In his conversation with Reiner under Liberio (at least in the dubs), he describes the Warriors as ‘trying to save the world’ and declares that he’s doing the same thing, that he’ll just keep moving forward until he’s killed all his enemies. In a way, the revelation at the end of Season 3 was the ultimate betrayal: this whole time, Eren’s been fighting to save humanity, and now he discovers that not only is humanity thriving, most see THEM as the threat. He’s done being idealistic, he’s done being betrayed, and he’s going to keep HIS humanity safe no matter what it takes, no matter how many he has to kill, no matter what he has to become.

I've seen a lot of these fan edits and the thing that most of them have in common is that they think just because the scene fits the timing of events of their favorite song, it's only natural that it should have been edited that way. But it doesn't work that way. The lyrics and tone of this song are about overcoming adversity and triumph. You could make the argument that this is exactly what is happening in the scene, and I would whole heartedly agree IF we hadn't spent the ENTIRE first part of the season watching Erin turn into a monster. All of the episodes leading up to this moment are meant to make you question Erin's motives, methods, and your idea of who he is. The entire show, Erin has wanted to be the typical Shonen hero that believes in the power of friendship and believing in yourself and every time he tried to do this, he was met with betrayal and bitter disappointment in reality. As a result, he's no longer the hero, he's the omen and the creator of the series wants the audience to know that Erin's actions are objectively wrong. Using songs of triumph in a moments like this would cause a disconnect. But the foreboding horns of the actual song they used fits because it signals the beginning of the end. It heralds in the final act and cements in the audience's mind that Erin has started down a dark path that he can't return from and that no one should ever follow.
@alar_x
Жыл бұрын
i disagree with this part "overcoming adversity and triumph", what i see when i hear this song is someone betraying people they got to known as friends up to this point, This song got played when Reiner and Bertholdt betrayed the scouts/island, That is the reason to why this music fits this scene
@TheRealSlimAnus
6 ай бұрын
@@alar_xSeems like you only interpret it that way because of the scene in question you think about when listening to the song. Overall, general interpretations of the lyrics and the message revolves around overcoming challenges and adversities; and facing them head on without giving up - no matter how difficult it may be. Again, this is General interpretation. Perhaps, the director and producers shine a different light on it. However; it definitely isn't just about betrayal. I mean, the song played when Eren's mom got eaten. I highly doubt you thought about betrayal when watching it. So, while I love this song and I wouldn't mind them just shoving it in for the sake of fan service. It doesn't necessarily fit with what the narrative has been leading up too. It's no longer about a black and white world where you're fighting the bad guys. It's about a world desperate for security, peace, and freedom. Where people are just people. The world has become grey. The scene portrays a form of judgement day, Armageddon, the end times, Ragnarok. A prophesied telling of the end of the world. The song really doesn't fit into that narrative.

It heralds in the final act and cements in the audience's mind that Erin has started down a dark path that he can't return from and that no one should ever follow.

i disagree with this part "overcoming adversity and triumph", what i see when i hear this song is someone betraying people they got to known as friends up to this point, This song got played when Reiner and Bertholdt betrayed the scouts/island, That is the reason to why this music fits this scene

I love YouSeeBigGirl, but Footsteps of Doom was the perfect track for this scene I would never replace it To me, I associate it too much with the Reiner & Berthold scene in Warrior But I think we can all agree that the Attack on Titan OST is goated
someone once said "think big, do big" Eren took it to whole another level
This is really well made
DAMN MAN THIS IS EPIC, the real sound of this scene is depressing, this one is hyping
if only they added this music in those moment... i would actually have a heart attack

If this was the live version of this event with this music I would have had a heart attack. I already had an overload just watching it, but the music to boot would have been overwhelming.
Of course u cant just simply put you see big girl over every epic scene in AoT but to be fair it of course also works here and enhances this scene a lot. I think u gave the rumbling a lot more punch through your editing, it's the first time I got some chills from it and it put a smile on my face. So nice work. Thank you. :)

This is so synced man! Just perfect
Wow you did a amazing edit
Ultimate....fantastic.....goosebumps......now words ❤❤❤
nothing will ever top this show man
This time the betrayal was real! Totally love how the walls fall down, one of the most spectacular moments in anime history!
Armoured titan running in like they the mc 💀
By now I already forgot the original scene. If it's not for the title, I won't know that this is edited. Good work
100 years later. The day when the walls fell and humanity could indeed be destroyed by the Titans, but this is shown by the other side. Isayama is a genius!
The og song is already incredible, this made the scene 10x better

JUST WHAT I WANTED THANKS
Yes i would say the same..this scene is too epic with masterpiece soundtracks ..truly great anime
how does this masterpiece doesn’t have million views already
0:33 perfect
Always gonna agree that the original is best suited for this scene, but I’ve seen quite a few edits with this song and this one is by far the best made. Well done
This is a masterpiece
i came here from your comment. i'm not mad tho, it was really well done
I love how the song drop is exactly on queue with when eren shifts into the founding titan
Attack on Titan would've killed too many people with coolness if this song was used for all of the moments that we wanted it over.
YouseeBigGirl is one of the greatest compsitions I've heard.
Great work on this! Although I prefer the original OST, you did a really damn good job of fitting the right scenes with the OST to give it the proper sense of emotional weight.
Here before this blows up :)
Your editing is perfect but i like original theme because it has terror like theme and it suit well in eren scary face which was shown at end
Thank you 🤧
This music makes everything perfect
This is so good wtff
The most epic and horrifying scene I ever saw in my life
This is honestly an extrodinary episode oh my. Eren's transformation gave me chills bro 🥶
yeah of course its sounds dope and looks nice together, but as everyone knows. if this song were used for all the scenes over and over than it would just get old
This ost put over this scene makes it feel like the older episodes which included this ost, nice
I call this Erens revenge it was used for Reiner and Bert theme but here it’s Erens turn
This ost seems more heroic to listen whereas ost used for scene seems more villainous befitting eren current character.
YES. Thank you.
Mesmerized would be an understatement.
Hello to the future viewer's from past YOU HAVE FOUND A✨ MASTERPIECE ✨
Most badass moment in entire AOT history😍
i hope we'll get to hear this soundtrack one last time on screen before the story ends.
Eren gave up the world and himself for his friends and love.
DIO tryna stop his bro from getting the founding titan, lol.
PERFECT!!!
This literally have me chills. This is what been missing from Mappa's adaptation
i think that the original fits the scene a lot more than this OST... i do still like this one tho i wasnt expecting smth this good when i saw your comment loll

Honestly I always thought it was super annoying when everyone said “omg they should’ve used youseebiggirl for (enter aot scene)” as I thought it was overused, but holy shit I get it now
so perfect

omg that's perfect the sound begin and the end of the song all is perfect now I want this xD 😆 gg for ur work
Very nice work
The fact that they’re were thousands of colossal titans in the walls for all those centuries is absolutely just crazy. I trip on how they’re just in there all that time, and hidden.
u are choosen 1... i newer see this ..... no comment who ever edit this is legend
The song would have fit very well if the wall titans releasing mean't victory instead of certain death for 1.6 billion people
wow😮 perfect
looks very epic with music.
They should've used this or Zero Eclipse for the beginning of the Rumbling 😢
Epic❤
Zeke: I am able to summon army of giants. Also Eren: Your army is bullshit! Just look at my army!
It's perfect.
Way too perfect
It is my favorite anime 😍 cool
Perfection
The background music is just🔥
anime is a feeling which you cannot comprehend
HOW IS IT LINED UP SO WELL TO THE BEAT
Fabulous 💥💥💥💥💯

I see perfection in it 👀
