@@chance258 Timeloop makes so much sense. Mikasa is the one who keeps reseting the timeloop to save Eren from death. Ik everyone is saying that the story has plot holes due to Timeloop but it doesn't. I personally believe that in the previous timeline (or I should say timeloop) Eren didn't do paths/stuff. Cuz Eren did paths stuff is what made his destiny unchangeable. (once he saw the futures as he touched Historia's hands it was all done for, his destiny was 100 set in the stone) Think about it Grisha in chapter 121 had no problem taking the founding titan. He just didn't want to kill the children. In the previous time-loop He probably took the founding titan but didn't kill the children. Why is Eren interfering at that moment? cuz thats the moment that sets up Historia's arc. Thats the moment that led him touch Historia's hand. and thats the moment that made the current timeline be the only path for him possible. Basically Isayama's answer to the question free will versus fate is that, (yes everything could have been otherwise, free will does exist. Our actions and decisions can influence or change the outcome of a given situation (which was basically the previous timeloop. Him and Mikasa selfishly ran away abandoning everyone, but that's not their destiny, their destiny is to be forbidden lovers. Eren's destiny is to be killed by the woman he loves and Mikasa's destiny is to kill her lover. No matter how much they try to run from this fact they can't change their destiny) But even then fate is always playing a joke on Eren. Even if he believed that he had the freedom to make the choice to run away with Mikasa, even if he believed he was free in all those previous loops he just woke up in chapter 1 since he had not fulfilled his true destiny. but everything also could have been otherwise (fate exists as well, although you are free to make ur decision the timeline will always reset till you achieve your destiny(basically this current timeline is Fate, it was bound to happen. The current timeline Eren already can guess Mikasa's answer is going to be family, he already knows he is going to do the rumbling, and he already knows Ramzi is going to be killed by him, and he already knew Mikasa was going to kill him, thats why in chapter 112 he told her he hated her to make himself the ultimate devil just to make it easier for her. So that she would be able to actually end the time-loop. But what he didn't realize is that no matter how hard he tries Mikasa will always believe in Eren's humanity even if he himself doesn't believe in it any more, no matter how much he tries to abandon his humanity in order to accomplish his mission. That red scarf is the thread that ties him to his humanity) Mikasa is the only one who can free both Eren and herself, and it is ultimately up to Mikasa to make her own decision. Does she want to keep reapting the cycle or does she want to end it? and personally I believe she did end the time loop at the end.

He got fucked up BAD, though. He's still a strong dude, but he's missing fingers (he was struggling to even hold his blades) with a mummified face. And Zeke's a whole other issue; the struggle to kill him throughout the series just washed away all because Zeke allowed him to? Fan-favorite or not, but I think he should've just died early on. "Humanity's Strongest Warrior" - he's all kinds of messed up.

Mikasa says that hints at time loop theory in season 1 epsiode 6/7 she says "I have seen this scene many times but I have turned a blind eye into it" as the kidnapper guy is choking Eren and he is dying. Mikasa saying in epsiode 6 (I lost my family again do I have to live through this pain again? and START OVER?) In epsiode 6 Mikasa is looking at a Mantis - female Mantis are known for killing their mate. Mikasa's ova foreshadowing that no matter which timeline she resets after Eren dying in order to save him Eren dies. Also Mikasa's OVA has the blue butterfly flying throughout the ova recommend u look up the blue butterfly effect and especially the movie it involves timelines changing and causing headaches. and her grabbing her head in season 1 episode 2 saying ahh this again.

You forgot to mention when grisha and eren arrive to the Ackermans house when she got kidnapped grisha says we where too late

Levi isnt part of the asian clan. Asian clan was immune to the memory wipe. Mikasa is half asian, which allows her to be the one overcede the current timeline.

Mikasa is the one that keeps reseting the timeloop cuz she can't accept Eren's death in each timelines (she acted selfishly both in her ova and chapter 138 dream part) but not this current timleline she decides to love him selflessly and let him be free of this hell of going through endless loop. Ik we are lead to believe that Eren or Ymir is the one controlling the time-loop but Isayama is deceiving us while hiding the truth in plain sight. He has said many times that Eren is a slave to the story. do u actually believe that attack titan Eren someone who could not make free choices because he had to follow his visions of the future the most free person in the manga? His rib titan form looks like as if he is caged while Isayama drew Falco flying behind Mikasa to represent wings of freedom showing her that she is one truly being free to alter the future and decide to end the time loop once and for all. ( also falco is another symbol of freedom as he is literally a bird lol the second simp and in love character besides Mikasa) Eren's freedom is his selfless love for Mikasa and Mikasa's selfless love for Eren is her freedom. (and ofc their selfless sacrifice brings the world freedom)

To me the time loop theory seemed like the only fitting ending. Now I hope that Isayama is trolling us and chapter 140 will drop next month with the real ending. Maybe something bad happens after the events from chapter 139 that triggers a new time loop and the baby picture image will indeed be the last image: Eren being born again, the start of a new time loop.

Since you mention that it’s harder to manipulate the memories of an Ackerman and therefore they can see the past much more clearly than Eldians do, would this also explain why the Ackermans are so powerful in battle? Like, it was explained that Ackermans are connected by their own Paths which is where their battle experience comes from. But if the Time Loop theory is correct, wouldn’t this mean that the reason why Levi and Mikasa are so powerful is because they’ve already lived those situations or scenarios of those fights because of the endless time loops before this one? This could explain why they know what to do and when to do it.

@@doubleclick35 I was thinking along the lines of that since the Eldian king can't or has a harder time controlling the Ackerman bloodline, this is the reason why they're so feared. They remember all the possible outcomes from each Path or time loop, which is why their bodies just instinctively know what to do. Like there are infinite realities where Levi or Mikasa failed or died, but there are also infinite realities where they did succeed. They remember each of these timelines/realities which is why everything just clicks to them whenever they fight. That's probably why they're so near-unkillable because those realities are like "practice" in a sense.

i feel like the manga panel Isayama revealed of a man holding a baby saying "You are free" was Grisha holding Eren, signifying that Eren finally broke the cycle and he is free. i feel like its that OR historias baby, since the baby is mostly likely to be named ymir. which symbolizes the reincarnation of ymir, and eren is telling ymir she is no longer a slave. GOSHH there are so many interpretations that could work and makes sense. dammit Isayama 😭😭

If they lose the Titans, it just makes the island a easy target, so far the rocket launcher spears, are the best thing they have, but compared to the rest of the world, it’s like they went back to using swords on Titans.

@@Radeiculas yes but as long as nukes, and automatic weapons exist, with the battle ships (but I’m sure they might try making there own battle ships since they captured them, and gained automatic pistols), it’s like fighting Titans with swords again, if they formed a alliance with Asian nations, thanks to Ackerman clan, sure, but they only care about their clan, and we all know how they were treated, for not being controlled by the founding Titans, also they will be the only ones that might keep their powers, so they might be used as bargaining chips, for a alliance, taking away the only clan that might keep their powers, thanks to not being linked with the founder titan, and the experiments. Meaning they will just have normal people with great sword skills, and air combat experience, up against automatic weapons, and chemical weapons, and flash bombs. Than you have the Ackerman clan safe, and making the country they are in have a group of captain America, having kids and spreading, making the nation a huge threat.

@henry davis what if the time loop is true, well actually it wouldnt matter since it would probably only set time back and not continue with everyone making the same choices. However in most likely all but one of the timelines he wouldnt end up with her because she is not willing to go along with killing off shit tons of civilians or because she would get herself killed just because she was trying to protect him when he doesn’t really need to be. IMO i would like the time reset to be the ending since it would kind of be dark, especially if eren is the only one that remembers the past timelines since he would be experiencing the deaths of his friends, family, and comrades over and over until he finally decides he’s had enough and snaps. That is the one that would probably be the most dark. However this is just opinion based so take it as you will

I guess this means that Eren did fulfill his original goal after all, destroying all of the titans. He was right, he never changed, he broke the bird cage that stopped them from moving any further, the threat that kept them swallowed up in their little worlds and making all of humanity taking the first step forward hand in hand all together. Unlike many watchers, as an aspiring writer, I am left astonished with Isayama's storytelling and writing skills. Such a story needs a lot of time to think of and imagine yet he did it and created his own dimensions in which his own thoughts and imagination are being broadcasted to the readers. But tbh he might just be asking us to send help lmao.

Eren’s story reminds me of the movie “The Butterfly Effect” so much. This man went through trial and error to save the people he loves, and ultimately gave his own life to put an end to others suffering. That man deserves a physical monument. Bravo 🙏🏼

2 theory’s. the 2000 years is the timeloop or eren has been living his life over and over again and it adds up to 2000 years but that doesn’t make sense cause grisha’s generation is stuck in the time loop too. i think the timeloop is the span of starting 2000 years over again. but that also would make sense cause what is the cut off time

The start of the 2000 yrs or the save point is when eren slept at the tree. He has been repeating the same events over and over again but failed to achieve freedom. The story we've been following is the last repeat of the timeloop.

@@ronaldodiaz8248 so the whole time loop of the attack on titan series takes place over the span of 2000 years opposed to the theory that slave ymir to eren’s timeline(2000 years total) kept repeating in a timeloop which would make it mellinums of years since it’s on a repeating loop.

In numerology, the 139 symbolizes the end of something and the beginning of something else. In other words, the “death” of one thing and the rebirth of another. The 139 symbolizes an important change, which can be in the right or wrong direction.

Maybe Eren's goal is not just for freedom but to also clear the names of eldians being called a devil, the only way he thought of was to become the big bad villain. In doing so, the eldians which were the squad would be now viewed as heroes since they had successfully killed Eren. It's pretty depressing that even if he's intentions are mostly good, he ended up doing it in a wrong way...

Imagine if instead he actually just failed to break the loop and in the last chapter eren will die and send one final memory to past eren of him dying which is why eren from the first episode is crying.

I think that the last panel is Eren holding Historia child. I know, Eren's head was cut off in chapter 138 but it was also blown off by Gabi in chapter 120~ and Eren survived. We need to wait, we are not that far away from the conclusion anyway.

Its absolutely mindblowing to me that people out there are still saying Mikasa's dream wasn't real and was all in her head, there is no other possibility than this being an alternate reality, or in other words, a previous timeline. The events we see in the manga and anime, is the _final_ timeline where Eren breaks the loop. Given how the dialogue in 138 heavily parallels the one in the first chapter, there absolutely has to be a connection. The idea that a) Mikasa dreamt all of that to be her "ideal world" (which doesn't make sense given how frustrated Eren becomes and how he dies unfulfilled) and b) kid Eren somehow saw all that because 'Paths' is such a ludicrous and convenient plot point that given Isayama's storytelling throughout the years, is insulting to even suggest that is the case. As for the plot hole that if Eren really did abandon everything with Mikasa, than he wouldn't have gone back in time with Zeke to pressure his dad to eat Frieda, causing a time paradox, there can be several answers to that. The first one I can immediately think of is that the AoT universe is in some sort of loop where if Eren is unable to achieve his goal of freedom, and/or Ymir is still trapped as a slave (this doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things just giving out possibilities), than Eren goes back to the beginning scene of chapter/episode one. However, instead of the timeline resetting, it builds off on another, so that it eventually reaches the final loop (the manga/anime) where Eren arrives at Paths to meet his father from the very first loop.

I think it’s impossible to predict the ending honestly. We have a few things we will piece together bc we’re not oblivious to how story story should be written but I will list off just a few mind blowing/ expectation subverting/ highly originally events yams has pulled off: -eren being eaten then becomes a titan -Reiner and Bertolt reveal -fuck it... Ymir’s titan reveal -historia becomes a descendent of the royal family -how he executed Levi beating zeke the first time (child’s play for Levi) -armin over Erwin (even though the opening kind of showed us, still a crazy choice) -boom 4 years later... -Reiner and Marleys background. You’re just like 100 people on an island lol -eren’s surprise attack! -introduces the war hammer aaaand it’s gone. Good job eren! -eren becomes the bad guy -this fucker got his head shot off.... DOESNT MATTER! Here’s the rumbling! -oh wait, the attack titan can see the future! -eren altered the current timeline -the alliance is fighting on the back of eren and the guy pulls off every past titan design he can think of! -kills hange :’( -makes falco a freaking flying titan -power of friendships us..... -SIKE! Annie you get to see your dad but you don’t get to touch him! Titanized! -eren for some reason gets a colossal titan transformation Etc. These might seem normal now bc we have experienced the story with them and they’re all very attack on titan-y but at the same time they were major eye opening moments. Also keep in mind, this absolute manic Isayama one day sat down to start drawing and writing the story of aot and keep moving forward without ever missing a single month. That’s fucking ridiculous given what the story turned out to be. So basically I’m just sitting back and enjoying the ride. It’s almost over. I’m sure he still has 1 or 2 mind bending tricks up his sleeve

Reiner is the main character he’s gonna have a huge role in the ending pay attention. He’s been through the most and mind you Isayama made sure that Eren and Reiner had that convo before he destroyed Willy.
