what I love about this ship is Eren and historia are both in the category of "I will let the world burn just to save you" and usually it's only one of the characters who is like this but they are both willing to let humanity end if it means the other is safe

When it comes to fictional romances, there are 2 big criteria points that need to be satisfied in order for me to consider a romance to be well written. As it turns out, EreHisu easily satisfies both of these criteria points. 1. There needs to be mutual chemistry between the characters that is strong enough to justify a romantic relationship. This, of course, means that both characters need to have good reason to be romantically interested in each other that goes beyond just a simple friendship. Eren and Historia both had plenty of good reasons to be romantically interested in each other. They both helped each other through their lowest points, they shared similar struggles which made it easier for them to understand/support each other, they shared a special level of trust that they didn't share with anyone else, and they were both willing to risk the overall safety of humanity to protect each other. 2. The relationship needs to benefit the story in some way (usually by elevating the arcs of both characters). Eren and Historia falling in love and having a child not only does that but also capitalizes on multiple themes present throughout the story (surpassing the sins of the father and getting the children out of the forest). In the case of Eren, him destroying the entire world so that his child could not only be safe from the threat of the outside world but free from the cycle of hatred is the best possible way to surpass Grisha. It would also be 100% in character for him to do this given his pro-natalist philosophy. In Historia's case, her choosing to have a baby with Eren accomplishes two things. Firstly, having a child born solely out of love would allow Historia to surpass both her parents and become the mother she never had. Secondly, Historia would be honoring Ymir's wish for her to live for herself. This relationship not only made sense but could've done so much for this story (especially the ending) and I'm still miffed that Isayama didn't realize what he was wasting by not going through with it. I can't think of any other ship in AOT that satisfies both of these criteria points (at least not to the level that EreHisu does) and I will die on that hill.

This made more sense than whatever clownery 139 served

EreHisu's chemistry is one of the most subtle and organic relationships I've ever come across in any anime/manga thus far because they didn't have the dynamic where a boy likes a girl but she doesn't like him, or she likes him but he doesn't like her, and especially the trope of childhood friends turned lovers. Nothing like that was present between Eren and Historia they were more or less awkward strangers and slowly became individuals who grew to care about each other's well-being, and that's what makes EreHisu special even more so with the story itself in which Isayama has presented.

God I can't help but laugh at attack on titan now. Can't take it seriously. All of those moments and theories that matched up with the story. Turns out they were all wrong and weren't correct even in the slightest. Sigh.

@@theshamrockdolls9909 I think they will remove the child line, because in the end, as painful as me to say this, Hisu really did get pregnant to protect herself. As to not confuse the anime onlines. But then again, even with cut scenes of Hisu's pregnancy in the anime, some anime onlines believe that Eren is the father, given their dynamics in S3 and the child line will (kinda) confirm he's the father if it's added in the anime.

@@kylacat5985 have you considered that hisu saying that is because she agreed to be eren's accomplish but not to his way of doing that. Eren told historia to run away and hide, she comes out with her own way and told him as such. It won't be removed because given the context there's nothing in it that suggest eren is the father. The narrative in ep 10 does make you think eren might be the dad, it's a red herring. You don't need to be a genius to see that. Red herring makes you think it's the case then misled you.

I realized that "Holy crap. Eren might die at the end of the story and Mikasa has to detach himself away from him, and Historia in general seems like a better choice for him" and then l carefully looked at all the ErenHisu clues and accepted it was far more plausible than ErenMika, and that ErenMIka would not become canon. Fast forward 8 months later.........well what do you know l can tell the future. Mikasa finally let go of Eren and he might be dead now, which sinks ErenMika. Sorry you ErenMika shippers. There's no more hope for you anymore.

I don’t know why, but does anybody else get Anakin and Padme vibes from those two? If Isayama confirms that they were a secret couple, then Eren Yeager is essentially Darth Vader; the parallels would be uncanny: This military soldier who secretly fell in love with a queen and because of this strong desire to protect her and their unborn child, he slowly loses his humanity; giving himself over to becoming the monster he swore to destroy..... As a big fan of Revenge of the Sith (and Clone Wars), I think that would be epic.

@@GlimmeringZoey If memories make who you are then Eren having memories of him spending his last years with Mikasa in a different timeline (because the founder can't manipulate Ackerman memories) could mean that a part of him loves her. Since he's now seen what Mikasa's decision was in the manga after entering paths I doubt those feelings are very strong in the anime.

The way you portrayed Eren and Historia’s development with each other is amazing!

It's funny how back then I didn't care much for historia (krista at the time) as she seemed like a cliche nice girl that everyone likes character, but her development was done so well (ignore the pregnancy plot lol), now she's one of my favorites. I didn't expect to shipe erehisu either, but their relationship is done so well. However, it's a shame it didn't go anywhere in the manga lol

Also, it makes more for Eren to be the father of Historia's child instead of some random farmer. Plus, the farmer literally bullied her and threw rocks at her growing up. It's completely out of character for her to want a child w/ someone like that.

WOW THESE TWO CHARACTER ARE THE MOST WELL DEVELOPMENT WRITTEN....BETTER THAN THE OTHERS.. THESE TWO HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL BUT NAH JUST GOT WASTED BECAUSE IT IS NOT CLICHE

As we are nearing the end of the series I can't ignore the fact that there's totally something up with these two. Even if it doesn't end up being romantic they've definitely come to respect and genuinely care for one another... They've even saved eachother (and I don't mean just physically). A lot of people are hating on the ship but I mean it's been a FOUR year time skip are you really saying there was no chemistry and that something happening between them during that time isn't a possibility? Anyway I find it super poetic that when Yimr left Historia behind the walls she did so because of Eren. "Maybe there is a future behind the walls after all"...Kinda feels like she passed him a symbolic tourch. Like a will to protect Historia because no one else is. Don't even wanna start with the parrells between the 'earth devil' and founder Yimr from their history and how it reflects EH along with the lamp, apple and pact. Also... Manga spoilers warning Like, there's only two chapters left and we still haven't seen Eren's pov and that conversation that him and Historia had on the farm before he left for Marley...if the father was the farmer then why all the secrecy around that convo in particular??

Now after chapter 138...........ErenMika shippers thought they won.......but no they didn't. When Mikasa wakes up in this dream she has Eren starts talking about "Between Genocide and putting Historia through hell.......l couldn't choose" *"And putting Historia through hell"* l didn't think much about this at first, but then l realized something, why would Eren be saying he put Historia through hell? The answer is simple, cuz he did nothing to protect her, and what was protecting her? *Her pregnancy* so this already confirms(well for me at least) that Eren is involved with Historia's pregnacy weather if he did it himself or asked someone else to do it. Also, l don't know WHY ErenMika shippers can't fathom the fact they might love each other. For one, let's take a look at other characters. WHen Eren saved Mikasa, she fell in love with him, when Sasha saved Niccolo, she fell in love with him, and now your trying to tell me that when Eren was saved by Historia at his lowest mental point in his life suddenly he can't develop feelings for her? Seriously, also, Eren does have a thing for blonde's, and Historia and Eren and basically parallels of Dina, and Grisha. Honestly, l could legit write 10 paragraph essays on why ErenHisu could happen but l don't feel like it.

Were already questioning whether or not this farmer guy was just a coverup for the real dad, like come on. Also, Historia isn't the type of character who would go and get her walls rumbled by some random NPC Faceless, and Nameless farmer-boy that bullied her when they were kids(he literally threw rocks at her for crying out loud) also. Explain why there's some hooded dude staring at the farmer and Historia? Also. IN chapter 130, Eren HIMSELF said *"OUR* only options left is to fight the entire MPS or *RUN AWAY"* notice how he says "OURS" and not YOURS. This already confirms if needed Eren would have ran away with Historia.......also before any ErenMika shippers bring up chapter 138, Mikasa kissed a severed head, and she was just having dreams, so we don't even know if that outcome would even happen.

What is the message of the anime? Genocide actually works great if you're doing it to protect your friends and family? In the anime is showed Paradis being annihilated like 500 - 700 years or more into the future which means genocide does work and more people should be like Eren. A better ending would be that he killed of 100% of his enemies or during the rumbling, the colossal end up killing Armin or Mikasa to show that his path of genocide was for nothing. The ones he wanted to also protect the most died, like Sasha and Hange. Sasha should have died but Mikasa or Armin should have died instead of Hange

When I got to watched the aot series I wasn't into the shipping fandoms like EreMika or EreAnnie but when I watched the uprising arc (?) in season 3 I noticed the subtle development of Eren and Hisu. It was so sudden from strangers up until becoming an ally to each other. I mean Eren doesn't really care much to Hisu/Christa except for the one in OVA wherein Hisu/Christa got kidnapped while in the middle of their training. He even does saw her as a weakling before he saw her true strength. I haven't read the whole manga yet but I already saw the panels of EreHisu and with the hints, it might be concluded that Eren is the father of Hisu's baby. It was really out of the context if it was the farmer tbh. I already saw the leaks of 138 and tbh it didn't really makes sense to me in terms of Eren's personal relationship. Yes I get it that Mikasa really did love Eren unconditionally and romantically and Eren really cares for Mikasa and there's no denying it but what kind of love does he have towards with Mikasa? Is it really a romantic one as well or is it an unconditional one? (it doesn't need to be romantic one). No hate for EreMika and don't attack me on this but this is one of the questions that I have. Also, the biggest question that I have is why Eren is really adamant on not sacrificing Hisu over the lives of the people there? Why is he sooooo adamant on protecting her? I believe that we might not get the explanation for Eren and Hisu's side as it is 2 chapters only left if the 138 leaks will be true.

I don't know why everyone has to be so toxic about their ships. On insta, when people post wholesome content that just happens to have Historia and Eren in it, the comments are either limited or disabled, if not you see so many death th threats and just general nastiness. It is just so exhausting.

This ship makes sense

Manga Spoilers: It's kind of poetically tragic and at the same time beautiful that in that moment in the cave, Historia guaranteed a reality where Eren goes down the route of a worldwide scale genocide by not allowing him to die. Their honesty and trust for each other is one of the most precious things in the world of AoT yet it's also one of the most deadly things that could have ever happened in that world. I love their dynamic and the importance of what their (hopefully) child means to this story, looking back at all of their interactions in hindsight and seeing the devastating domino effect caused by these 2 people meeting is fascinating.

@@hiroshiramasendjews9539 The Attack on School Castes is something that has been released at the end of each manga volume for quite some time now. It's not straight up confirmed but it's implied that she does have a crush on him. And Isayama said their personalities in this AU are the same as the original story, they just grew up in a different environment so the characters themselves are the same.

Either let Historia become a lifestock or Genocide, it even confirmed in Mikasa's dream... And the reality Eren chose Historia and Genocide... Everything that happened is revolved around Historia... Here after 139: I consider it canon because it makes their characters and the story so beautiful, the ending was obviously changed and both got butchered. They were the original plan: Historia words to Eren in the cave are the same Eren said to free Ymir in 122 (even tho that 139 shit makes that moment a whole joke). Erehisu was just too good for SNK.

Their relationship reminds me Anakin and Padme

well as a non-toxic eremika stan, im pretty in love with the childhood friends troupe. The way Eren looked at Mikasa was a way of admire and desire if you get me. Isayama said that he drew Mikasa prettier if it was from Eren’s POV, but i can see erehisu! Overall i feel like they were like with eachother (they were not who am i fooling LMAO) till the end. i could also say armin but IK FOR A FACT IF ISAYAMA GIVES US THIS VERY TRAGIC ENDING, HE WILL NEVER GIVE US YAOI 😭😭!

It's canon, the Eren on the last 3 chapters of the manga was way out of character, I recalled this as the official ending game. That's the real reason it why Mikasa killed him, she probably discovered that Historia's baby was Eren's heir and couldn't take it, that's why she went full Yandere mode.

The kino couple we could’ve gotten if only Isayama didn’t put AoT under the shounen genre. Still, F to my fellow fallen soldiers. We fought enough.
