Wowww love the detail of the cotton splashes on top of the diorama not being directly over the explosions to make it look like there’s actual refraction of light. Super cool detail!

I love that you even thought about the light refraction between the depth charges and the water splashes at the surface, so that they don't align exactly. Awesome!
@jimsedlock7637
9 ай бұрын
You noticed the parallax effect but the artist didn't 'think of it.' He built the depth charges and splashes aligned. The parallax effect from any view angle happens because the resin is denser than air in the same way water causes parallax. So much realistic detail, not many picked up on that effect but you and I did.
@hansihintersoos7581

Bravo. The details are remarkable. You managed to capture a moment in time that is as believable as a picture. Great job.
This is definitely one of the coolest things that I've seen in a long time. You Sir, are incredibly talented.
My compliments. I have been building models since the 1960's. But you sir, are out of my league both in execution and imagination. Well done.

Realistic under water explosion created with cotton and LEDs immersed in resin -- truly amazing!
Watching this again and I'm just as amazed as I was 11 months ago. Absolutely incredible.
OUTSTANDING. brilliant use of cotton to depict air bubbles. kudos to your soldering and electrical abilities as well.
This is better than most museum quality dioramas I've seen. Nice work!

A superb artist at work. Excellent design and execution. Thank you for sharing!
That was utterly amazing. I'm speechless. Thank you so much for sharing this!
Outstanding work, as per usual! Something that I've seen done before was letting the resin cure in layers, to eliminate the need for clear stands for depth charges; I can see that working quite nicely with your style, so that might be worth experimenting with if you decide to do a diorama like this again at some point

You would need to be really careful not to end up with a visual boundary between the layers, though. It can be done, but I've had the misfortune of it happening in one of my projects.
@Dwightstjohn-fo8ki
2 жыл бұрын
@@toddz8579 as a diver, the visual boundary is often encountered in undisturbed waters: deep inlets, deep dives. There's no water movement, so the "layer" is the temperature difference. But like plastic looks like glass in modelling, but GLASS doesn't look like...........glass, I can understand it may not look real. !!!!

I would never have figured the cotton wool would look as good as it does. I would have thought the resin would react with it but the explosive effects turned out great as did the bubble trails for the depth charges. Fantastic work.
great job! your creative choice of medium and your attention to detail is amazing.
Absolutely incredible. I have have been building diorama’s for many years and have never seen any model like this. Congratulations, this is without a doubt museum quality work my friend. You are GOOD.

"I've never done something like this before." Does an amazing job on the first try
I never ever build anything like that in my life but I just love watching others do it. It looks really awesome.
Dude this is incredible !!!! You are a true master at your craft. You have a gift my friend!
VERY GOOD INDEED! I did lots of Tank models way back about 50 years ago. The cotton trick on gun barrels, etc... You have taken it to a whole new level, Thanks for rewarming an old passion. :-)
Very nice work. 👌 congratulations 👍
Incredibly detailed, interesting to look at, and with the ability to teach history. Keep 'em coming, stuff like this belongs in museums.
This is one of the best, if not actually the best, submarine diorama I have ever seen!!
Very impressive. It's rare to see people with such skill with their hands these days. Your skill earned you a sub.
hard to believe you havent done this like 50 times already, it looks stunning

My God, that was an amazing display of artistic craftsmanship. I am beyond impressed with your creativity and exploration of detail. As much as I appreciate your detail I am haunted by the reality of war in your display. I can truly appreciate the artisanship in your work and capture of the horrors of man. Thank you for not only your talent as an artist but thank you for the sobering reality of war.
I'm speechless! My goodness that is phenomenal workmanship !
The Art of War beautified . . . . . . . . . INCREDIBLE SKILL Thank you for posting this magic
Incredible work! The explosion effect is masterful - so realistic. Thanks for a peek behind the artistry curtain with this step-by-step. I can only imagine the comments and compliments from those who see it IRL.
One of the most incredible things I've ever seen! What an imagination and a tip of the hat to your skills!
The depth charges are just brilliant!
What a time we live in where great artists can share their craft. Remarkable talent remarkable showpiece.
I love how you'd make such great efforts in the attention to each single details, totally got blown away by your artwork 👍
Totally amazing!! I have never seen any artwork like this before. As an artist, you have completely perfected your craft!!
Well at 70 years of age I have to echo exactly of my friend who is 65 years of age. Wow! Its wonderfully imaginative, and beautifully executed. Well done. In realism, its a diorama for the ages. Ive never seen a better. Thank you for your video. Australia.
If that is your first time, very impressive! You are already a legend at this type of work!
Absolutely one of the most realistic models of an 'event' that I've ever seen. I built models as a kid growing up, hot-rods, planes, battleships and a few subs, but never thought of trying something like that (didn't have the materials back then, either). A real 'eye-catcher'! Thanks for sharing!
Wowww love the detail of the cotton splashes on top of the diorama not being directly over the explosions to make it look like there’s actual refraction of light. Super cool detail!
I love that you even thought about the light refraction between the depth charges and the water splashes at the surface, so that they don't align exactly. Awesome!
@jimsedlock7637
9 ай бұрын
You noticed the parallax effect but the artist didn't 'think of it.' He built the depth charges and splashes aligned. The parallax effect from any view angle happens because the resin is denser than air in the same way water causes parallax. So much realistic detail, not many picked up on that effect but you and I did.
@hansihintersoos7581

@@jimsedlock7637 good to know, thanks for the explanation. I honestly thought the artist was a genius for considering the parallax effect. But even if it's just a natural coincidence the artist still remains a genius for building this stunning model

I say your experiments went off with a bang! The explosions are excellent and the entire model is very lifelike. Phenomenal work.

Absolutely love this! Amazing job on the realism!
The first diorama I saw a year ago and it immediately cause my to love your channel. Keep making wonders
Absolutely amazing work. It almost looks more real than the actual thing.
That's one hell of a job, the charges detail was my favorite part, so simple with cotton, and it looks perfect, a charge traveling down. 😎 👍
Your work honors model builders everywhere
It’s really impressive how well the painted cotton balls replicate explosions when dipped in resin and backlit.
Absolutely incredible, awesome job!!!! The U-Boat service saw a 75% fatality rate and I cannot even begin to imagine what is was like. R.I.P. to all who lost their lives.
The dyed cotton explosion looks absolutely life like! If this was your first, I wonder just how realistic your dioramas will look in the future! Fabulous stuff!
Very nice build! Excellent detailing! Liked your "box" too. It worked great. Back in the day I built and detailed helicopters, planes, tanks, miniature soldiers etc. I think I'm going to give this stuff a try after watching this. Thank you for sharing it.

It looks amazing, and was quite relaxing to watch.
Man! That was and is seriously awesome... so realistic-looking. Nice work!!! 👍
Wow....just ridiculously good. There are so many "bake off," "metal masters," "glass masters" shows where artists compete for "best in glass, etc" champion. There NEEDS to be a show showcasing diorama artists. It would be so entertaining. Even if it can't all be done in one day (not sure how long it takes the resin to set, for example), there is still a way it can be done.
Outstanding work, video and presentation.
Outstanding work! Awesome results! 👏🏻👏🏻

Absolutely incredible. About the best compliment I can give you is, as a submariner myself, the raw emotion that seeing this diorama invoked. When I see something this realistic, I can almost feel the horror the sailors inside this vessel experienced as this submarine came apart. Great job.
