Players: "Oh, we're leaving there and going straight to Newvale!" (DM rearranges some tiles) DM: "OK, here's the village of Newvale..." :D

One tip with using label paper: don’t remove all the backing at once. Remove a small portion, then make sure that is flush with no bubbles or creasing. Then remove the next section of the backing, and keep doing it in that fashion. It takes a bit more time, but you don’t accidentally ruin your project.

Some little villages (or country lanes) can be a bit like that in my neck of the woods (even some new builds TBH). I have however tried to provide a lot of options for folks to choose from (even some right angle-ish junctions - which are a bit tricky when working with modular hexes :) - as curves are much easier to produce due to the angles of the hex). At the end of the day though... as with a lot of my stuff, a certain amount of artistic licence might need be taken to make something easier to build or to make things that are visually appealing on such a small scale :)

Query:: Are you planning to do Streams/Narrow Rivers/Wide Rivers??? For example, Streams would be around the width of the roads you have done. Narrow Rivers prob be as wide as twice a stream and Wide Rivers either taking up whole sides of the tiles to allow for multi hex wide rivers or just a good portion of the tile itself is river down the center. Asking because I myself would love to build world maps and the like with tiles like these, using building clusters to represent small to medium settlements and larger ones to represent the cities. Would be much more fun when adventures are taking place in smaller areas of the worldmap and such without going over the top... Also are you planning on doing more like City based ground tiles? Allowing for cities to be built with those method. Would be cool too. If so, would love to see some more 'unique' looking mini buildings, things like arenas like colosseums and great halls and the like. Your designs are just igniting flares of ideas of my own if I had the ability to make these myself easily...

Yeah ...I think there is a lot of potential for this range - and I do indeed plan on making 'all the things' :D It's gonna take a while though - so to begin with I'm just concentrating on getting enough stuff done so that I/we can at least represent a few small generic villages. But, in time, I plan on having docks (with a ship maybe), city streets (in addition to these dirt roads), stone textures (for walls, towers, keeps, etc.), and so on (the rivers will probably be a similar size to these roads to begin with ...with bridges and fords of course :) ). But like they say, Rome wasn't built in a day :D (so I'm starting small, and will slowly build the range up, bit by bit).

@@CrookedStaffTerrain catan is a board game that uses and hexagon map, each hexagon represents either a sheep farm, or a forest, or a quarry... and those are resources that can be obtained if you happen to have a settlement near the hexagons (each hexagon has a number and dice determine which numbers give resources each turn). those resources are them used to build roads and more settlements or to trade with other players. at the end the player with more "points" wins there are people that make their custom catan hexagons to play instead of using the ones that come with the game, this method of yours is probably a good way to make one.

Scaling up the hex tiles? to print out at miniatures scale? If so, They'd be around 40" across (and probably very blurry/pixelated). My own idea is to make the whole village in the 'tiny' scale, and then maybe just build a few encounter areas/ specific buildings at 'miniatures scale'. For example, here's one of the tiny houses next to one of my regular size houses: i.imgur.com/GMhp0sJ.jpg (as you can see, I've used a very similar style - so that they could both represent the same house :) ...one in each scale.)

They're not really intended for use with mini's ...the idea was just to create a fun 3D village 'map' (rather than the usual 2D drawings that we normally show to our RPG players) - and one that's fairly modular (i.e. they can represent the 'maps' of several different villages that the PCs pass though - just by moving them around). However, if it helps, the doors on the houses are around 5mm tall.

It's not really meant to be a particular 'miniatures scale' if that's what you mean - but the whole thing is roughly: a quarter on an inch = 10ft. So, since the entire hex is 5" from flat side to flat side, that would be 200ft per hex. Hope that helps.
